Tobias strode into the Library, pausing a moment to stare in awe. "So this is the Library that Salazar Slytherin compiled....perfect." Snapping back to reality, Tobias went straight for the section of books concerning curses....
*One Hour Later* "Know it......mastered it....long since mastered it......simple.....basic.....AARGH!" He was clearly frustrated, and annoyed. He had gone through 6 books, and so far, no new curses. "There must be SOME new curses in these books." He heaved a heavy sigh, looking for at least one unknown curse. But so far, he already knew all of these. He didnt know whether to be proud, or annoyed.bg
Flipping through the pages of yet another book on "complicated" charms, Muryllis let out a sigh and continued with his search for charms he at least hadn't heard of. Pulling another book off the shelf, he caught the movements of another frustrated boy, seeming to also be looking through books of his own. Smiling as he peered down into the volume, time seemed to fly, the pages a blur as he looked through them, glancing over all the various charms. "Here's one," he muttered, pointing his wand at his bag and setting it on fire. Glancing once more at the page he had been looking at, he flicked his wand again, and the bag seemed to be hit by a magical puff of wind, every burnt thread returning to normal. "Nice." Hearing the furious whining of the Slytherin boy who had entered what seemed like a few minutes ago, he decided to walk over, applying his favored full-body Silence charm as he padded, ever silently, over behind Tobias.
Knowledge had always been his driving force, yet he always left behind power, its natural child, considering it only an effect of the glory that comes from knowing. Figuring from the Slytherin's words that he had been looking at curses, he suddenly pondered, Charms have always been my thing; what about curses? Aah, here's a potential study buddy... Back in Nostri Magi, Muryllis's teachers had always supported the pairing and grouping of people with differing talents; 'It promotes perfection for every member of the party,' they had said, and Muryllis heartily agreed with them. Walking up to Tobias, he disenchanted the Silence charm and spoke:
I see you are in search of good curses; I say, those have never been my strong point, though I can throw out a Conjunctivitis and the like when need be. How are you with charms? I guess we could help each other out, and I'm sure there should be something here that you haven't learned yet." Leaning over to whisper, he added, "I mean, there are, of course, the numerous Unforgivable Curses.. "
Tobias looked up at Muryllis. "Charms? I probably know many more than are in these books, but if you are talking about the basic three of the Unforgivables, then there is nothing you can teach me. But, say, if you happened to know the proper form and incantation of the less-known fourth and fifth Unforgivable Curses, then I could be persuaded to tell about elemental charms, and the like." He could see where this was going...perfectly.
Tilting his head to the side, Muryllis replied, "I didn't mean to say that I know them; the only one I personally know is the Cruciatus curse, and that I only tried once or twice, on insects, of course," he added. "Of course, the fact that you know the three great Unforgivables is intriguing; no chance practicing them, of course; Talon might, and will, find out." He remembered the incident in the dungeons, and how the fight had been discovered so quickly...
"Now, what do you know that's not illegal; we might toss around a few spells (not at each other, of course) to see what we know. And what are elemental charms," he asked, his eyes widening; charms he had never heard of? The knowledge, oh the knowledge!!
"The more proper question is what dont I know that is not illegal? And what you asked about Elemental Charms? Firefox, the fellow who made this school, was a Fire Elemental, no? And he had mastered Fire Elemental Magic. Now, that includes Fire Elemental Spells, Curses, and Charms. Essentially being an entire seperate class of advanced magic. Though pure Fire elemental spells can only be used by pure Fire Elementals, the Fire elemental charms can be used by all....well...all who know them."
"Aah," replied Muryllis, completely intrigued by this. Forget fire, he thought; the typical fireball-slinging wizard was as old as it was.. old. "Tell me about... " he pondered; the one element of the Greek elements that had intrigued him most, all throughout his life, was water. "Tell me about the water element. It seems the more.. say, interesting of the four, in my opinion. Besides that, what is there that I can teach you? Something tells me that, though I am a near master of the typical, legal charms, you will be the one teaching me everything.."
Tobias let out a soft sigh. "Fine......but for my lessons, I charge iether knowledge about the Unforgiveable 5, or.....10 galleons per lesson." If he was going to do this, he was going to make a profit out of it one way or another.
He nearly flipped when this Slytherin kid named the prices for being taught - per lesson!! "What?! That's outrageous - all just for..." and he caught himself. This kid was probably just a con artist of some sort. "You probably don't even know any good spells yourself, let along 'elemental' charms. You honestly think I'd pay money - that much money - to find out that you don't know jack?" The loser...
"...I dont know jack?" Tobias stood, and drew his wand, and directed it to an empty piece of parchment, which soared into the air. "Aquarvivonsinta." Instantly, the parchment liquified, and landed on the ground as pure water. "That, dear Ravenclaw, was one of the Water Elemental Charms." He spoke with a bitter tone, his wand now pointing at the puddle. "Geogranticima." The puddle solidified, and turned into a granite pillar. "An Earth Elemental Charm." With another flick of the wand, "Aerospotancika." The pillar became air, and dispersed among the library. "An Air Elemental Charm." And with one final swish, "Pyrofrontica." A ball of air came together, and became a large fireball, before turning back into a blank parchment. "A Fire Elemental Charm. So dear Ravenclaw, do you still think that I know nothing of Elemental Charms?"
"You know naught, for it is only I who can master all forms of elemental spells; only I who have touched the minds of gods themselves in my endeavor for ultimate power!" A voice proclaimed, seeming to come from all directions at once.
A thick and swirling mist erupted from just around the edge of the bookshelves, followed by the soft sounds of footfalls. Moments later, a dark form crossed into the two students lines of view. "It is I; the mighty Zakum, master of all that is and all that will be. Down upon your knees and grovel in my presence, insolent mortals!" He commanded, leveling his wand at Tobias, giving a sidelong grin to Muryllis as he recognized the boy from their previous encounter.
Simple charms he had heard of before, but never really used; the aspiring elementalist's showoff-charms. Lodging their names in the back of his mind for later use, he eyed the Slytherin boy with intrigue. Muryllis, though not an elementalist, and not having any practice or knowledge at all of the art, at least knew one thing: with true elementalism, noone can use all four elements, for their inner element prohibits them from using its opposite.
"You truly don't know jack; those aren't the spells of elementalism, those - " he was cut short by a sudden booming voice, and a puff of ominous smoke off to the side. Out of the smoke emerged his good old friend from down in the dungeons. Catching the grin, Muryllis winked secretly and fell to his knees, rambling off in Latin, "O mi Dei Domini, magnus Zakum, pulcher magister terrae... "

"Oh, its just you...You actually had me worried there for a moment." Tobias chuckled slightly, flicking his wand, and muttering "Expelliarmus" almost silently under his breath, suddenly turning twoards Zakum. "Rule 1: Tis never wise to attempt to surprise thine enemy. Rule 2: When attempting to surprise the enemy, never gloat. That simply gets you killed. Rule 3: Interrupting is rude." Tobias had a grave tone in his voice suddenly, still directing his own wand twoards Zakum.
And it was true. He could only really use Fire and Air. Odds were that the Ravenclaw realized this aswell. Oh well.
"Aah, what is this?! Thou attackest the great Lord Zakum?" Jumping to a fighter's stance as soon as he heard Zakum's wand clatter to the ground, he pointed his own wand at him; an expelliarmus would now work; after the horrid encounter in the dungeons, Muryllis had spent a few days practicing the charm until it worked perfectly. Tobias had attacked first, so an equal measure would be allowable.
Flicking his wand quickly at Zakum's lost one, he levitated it over to its owner's hand (silently, for Muryllis had been, as part of the strict code of Nostri Magi, silent casting ever since his first spell); he then flicked his wand over at Tobias: twirling it and performing a graceful swish, he molded an Expelliarmus and Wingardium Leviosa together - also silently - effectively blasting the Slytherin's wand out of his hand and launching it to Zakum. Winking again to Zakum, he jumped over behind Tobias, crouching down at his feet. Part two..
Zakum took a moment to regain his composure after the initial shock of Tobias' attack on him. Given, it had been quite provoked, it was surprising nonetheless. A waste of a perfect few smoke bombs and he hadn't even so much as gotten a jump out of the intended target. Still, his 'partner in crime' was ready as always for quick reactions, returning his wand to it's rightful owner, along with the other unknown student's wand.
Catching both, he saw as Muryllis crouched down behind the student, who seemed to take himself much more seriously than was ever required of any child; someone in serious need of an ego deflating. Lowering his shoulder, he charged into Tobias, showing him viciously backwards, aiming at tripping him over the crouching form of Muryllis.
Tobias felt the impact of Zakum hitting him, and he almost tripped over the Ravenclaw, but suddenly, his father's teachings slipped into his head. Just before reaching the Ravenclaw, Tobias shifted his balance and leapt over his crouching form, before landing and turning in one motion to face his enemies.
"Two against one? That's not very fair now is it? You two dont stand a chance." Tobias had a mocking tone in his voice, before he raised his own hands, palms flat, at the two others. "Shame you had to force my hand, but observe a true, nonleathal curse." It was time to remain silent and cast, as the Ravenclaw had been doing. Umbrasima Coprealus Out of his palms, two beams that looked to be solid darkness shot out straight for both Zakum and the Ravenclaw, whose name he had not figured out yet.
