Newly polished bells rang in the high towers of Firefox University for the first time in almost a thousand years. The hallways sparkled with new shimmer, the stone floors were dusted and cleaned, and all seemed to have new vigor to it. At last, Firefox University was complete for all to enter. Yet despite its completion, it was suspiciously empty. All halls were empty and the air was dead.
Except for one place.
The Feasting Hall was filled with jovial laughter and chatter, and its air was full of life. Students poured in by the moment, rushing in to sit down near their friends at their individual House Table. There were four House Tables in all, for Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin, each decorated with either a red, blue, yellow, or green tablecloth. The edges of the tablecloth were the secondary colors of the house - gold, bronze, black, and silver. The four tables were vertical and able to seat hundreds and took up most of the room in the Hall. At the end of the Hall, placed on an dias was the Head Table.
The Head Table was smaller than the other tables, only able to seat about twenty people, and it was placed horizontally instead of vertically. At the center of the table, in a beautiful throne of silver and jade, was the Headmaster Talon Windwaltz. He was a very well kept man, dressed on this occassion in a closed purple robe which fell to his knees. To the students' laughter, his hair stuck up like lightning rods, glistening with the element. A Wizard's Cap was unable to fit upon his head. Around his neck hung a medallion which held the motif of two locked scimitars.
Surrounding the Headmaster, who seemed entranced by the sight of his students' fun, were the teachers, who were just as excited as the students about the new year. They chattered around him, and the sight was reminiscent of Da Vinci's "The Last Supper". After most of the students seemed to grow impatient, Talon stood up suddenly.
"Attention! May I have your attention please!" He roared in a magically enhanced voice. Utter silence followed this remark, during which Talon spoke again in a much softer voice. "Welcome everyone, to your very first year at Firefox University." A roar of applause followed this, in which Talon beamed and nodded his head. "Thank you, thank you all. I am glad that you've decided to continue your magical training - or in some cases, even begin - with me and my faculty."
Then, all of a sudden, a man of considerable shortness, four feet at tallest, came over to the Headmaster and tugged at his sleeve. He had a large beard, and was dressed in purple robes which were obviously far too long for him. He whispered something to Talon, and Talon said "Yes, Ronald, I was just getting to that." The dwarf turned away and walked back to the Table.
"Everyone, there are a great many things that I wish to tell you today before we eat, but first things first. Can Marina of Slytherin, Ceiced of Ravenclaw, Faust of Ravenclaw, Protege of Slytherin, and Jeremy of Gryffindor please come forward?"
