Professor O'Conner walked into the 'bar'. (No this is not a joke! do you see a rabbi or a minister with her? No? Good!) She sat down on one of the bar stools engrossed in a very interestingly titled book; What makes Dark Magic "Dark" there was no author mentioned on the cover or anywhere else, but Professor O'Conner had a feeling she might know the author very well.
The book was new, and although it would never be on the Daily Prophet's best seller list, it was popular among the wizarding populous. The book put forth the idea that there was quite a few less 'Dark' spells that people thought. That even one of the so called Unforgivable Curses, in the right situation, might in fact be used for good.
It continued along this line that perhaps there were only 'Dark' wizards and witches, and they as a society shouldn't be so quick to judge a spell simply because the outcome is negative.
To say the least Professor O'Conner was fascinated. Who would have the gall to write such things, even anonymously? Even if the case they made was strong, indeed? Professor O'Conner turned the page, reading eagerly and not paying attention to what was going on around her.
Harvey enjoyed his little routine. He was getting to know his clientele, befriending a few of them...got to stare at Sable when she wasn't looking, and played the part of simple homeboy bartender exceedingly well. Not to mention he was socializing more than any before. Between cooking and brewing for the locals, and the redesign of the Bar, Joker's had never been busier. Still he found time to just relax, polish a few glasses, and shoot the shit with his patrons.
Not to mention his gambit to make the place the go-to watering hole for the castle staff had succeeded.
He recognized the woman reading from his days as a student - no - Tobias remembered the girl-now-woman. Harvey had never seen her before. That little reminder had to be put in place of course. Anyway, he glanced over from a few spaces away behind the bar - no current orders for food left him time enough to clean up the odd ring on the wood. Venturing to be bold, and grinning his typical grin, he raised his voice,

Professor O'Conner looked up from her reading to see the bartender eyeing her book. For a moment she got the strongest feeling of Déjà vu she'd ever experienced. Surely she'd seen the man sometime before this? At a time that had a connection to a snake?
Yet as she looked over the personages before her she realized this feeling couldn't be right, he looked nothing like anyone she'd ever met before - right?
"Oh, it's called What makes Dark Magic "Dark". It's the latest 'sensation' book. Though I have to admit it makes a strong case against classification of spells. Seems to have been written anonymously, I suppose with good reason, some of the examples in here kind of extreme. It's very fascinating."
The nature of the book was, bluntly, fascinating, as the woman had said. There was little doubt in Tobias' mind that he would find a copy of the book and read through it, and see just how little the common man understood about the nature of Dark Magic, and the potentials. It would be a delightful and magnificent time and there was little doubt that he would have a grand old chuckle.
But that was Tobias. Harvey was a different sort. At the description, the Bartender, grimaced and shook his head, pursing his lips a bit. His Welsh shone through as he continued his cleaning, rebuking the very subject as if the book's title was a Curse in and of itself.
"Euch! Fascinatin' t'some, I s'pose. Fer me it's pretty simple. Dark Magic's bad, an' shouldn' be practiced OR talked about. Don' go talkin' bout somethin' long enough, it gets forgotten. That there's one o' them things. But...eh...somebody's gotta make a livin' writin' that sorta thing. Jus' not my cup of tea - SPEAKING OF - Can I getcha somethin'?"
