Cyan grimaced as he gazed into the pens, the hot Spanish sun grazing against his head.
Like, seriously, how tall was a "hand"? Half a foot or something? Everyone had different sizes of literal hands after all. Grumbling, Cyan read through the descriptions in his textbook and figured he would do what he could. He was not racing one of those things, no sirree.
In the first pen he came to, the winged horses were very muscular and ranged from bulky to slim. Many of them were colored the same as a typical brick. He labeled them as "Granian" and paused before also scribbling down "mostly stock horses."
The next pen contained horses that were quite a bit smaller. Their figures were... much more elegant. Longer noses. Big chest with little hips, kind of like some of those weird dog breeds muggles made. He blinked a couple of times, figuring they were probably his favorite if he had one. Seeing as they could only be Aethonian, he wrote that down.
The third pen held horses they were at least as large as those in the first pen. Their heads were longer, they had these weirdly arched necks, and they had large eyes. With a shrug, Cyan wrote out "Abraxan."
He raised a hand to scratch his head.
Except for the Aethonian, he wasn't sure he could identify them without comparing the breeds side-by-side, but this was good enough for now. He was pretty sure he picked the right breeds, but there was no way he was racing one of them. No way, no how. Not even for his house. After all, his life was more precious, you know?
