Gabriel hadn't the faintest idea what time it was, only that it was fairly late at night or fairly early in the morning. Something between the two - an obnoxious hour to be making noise, at any rate. After leaving the castle a few hours after dusk, Gabriel had gone to the edge of the woods and shifted into his animagus form.
Like a ghost, Gabriel flitted into the trees. It had been a long time since he had flown, due to being home bound and illegally an animagus. They might lock him up if they knew. When Gabriel had properly figured out his wings and everything else, he climbed to the sky, flying over the forest. It was safe, and interesting. Down below there were webs, like white mesh, and with a small sound the goshawk banked to the opposite direction, avoiding it. There was no sense in lighting down anywhere near something that could cause him problems. When the Ravenclaw had left the webs and anything else that looked too dangerous far behind, he dropped to the top branches of a tree.
If Orca wasn't going to tell him what was going on, he would find out. But first he had to have something to bargain with. Unfortunately Gabriel didn't have much of anything, except maybe a threat on Sparky, and it seemed like an asshole thing to do to his professor who had been after all somewhat helpful.
So instead, Gabriel remained in the trees. If the goshawk could have grinned he would have, but instead he tucked his wings to his body, a shadow among the branches, and let out a shrieking cry.
One, two.
Screeeeech.
Every few seconds it went like that, the sound echoing through the woods and likely waking up anything in the vicinity. At least, that was the plan.
Screeeeeeeech.
