Selene dragged herself to the Feasting Hall, dead tired. She'd been unable to sleep last night thinking about the two kids who she'd interacted with and failed to get along with.
That's highly unusual she thought to herself, as she plopped down at the Gryffindor Table, before I'd always get along with kids my own age. Granted Nadia was older but not by that much.
She poured some orange juice and sipped it, then helped herself to some porridge and sausages that appeared before her. The same thought had been going though her head all night.
What if the are biased against natives? Well that would be silly, if that were so, then they'd be biased against half and halfs of anything, and neither of them struck me a pureblood freaks.
As she chewed on some toast a new thought came to her.
I suppose it could be I was too forward. Maybe here your not supposed to be forward, or something. I suppose I did give Nadia a lot of advice in one go.
She tasted the porridge and found it to be far too plain. She looked around to find some brown sugar and a plate of dried peaches, strawberries, and blueberries beside her. As she sugared and fruited her porridge and idea came to her.
Oh, that's it! I know what I'll do! I won't speak unless spoken to. It's a old rule, but maybe if I observe more I can find out what help people really need, or if they are just trying to start something. I'd hopped that I'd left the closed-minded people behind when I moved to Caernarfon, and especially when I came to school, but I suppose that was a naive hope.
Selene shrugged and continued to eat. Hopefully if she went to bed earlier tonight she could catch up on the sleep she'd missed last night.
