Phugsius stood by the fountain in the town square with his luggage set beside him. His eyes glazed over as he monitored the moving water. The grey button up he wore gave in to the will of the wind as the ends of his shirt ruffled in the light breeze. It was almost dusk and the breezes were a nice break from the hot climate of Spain.
The young man couldn't help but admire the town he had spent the most important years of his life in. Not much had really changed at all since he'd left. A few shops had changed face, a few buildings had been repaired, but everything seemed as it was when he left. That was something he really liked about Drakborough. It didn't really change.
Picking up his bags, Phugsius made his way to the Inn to acquire a room for a few days or weeks. He would definitely need a job soon. His wallet was becoming dangerously skinny. He would also love to see Niobe if she wasn't too busy. He'd stayed in touch with her via owl and even told her he'd be arriving soon. Perhaps he'd send her another letter telling her to come visit him, that he missed her, that he loved her.
The trip from England had been rather long and tiresome though. Phugsius had been up for almost an entire day, not to mention all the physical and mental energy he had expended transferring trains and running to different platforms. His face showed hints of the toll the trip had taken. He knew that once he got into that bed he would probably be asleep for a good while.
Another thought that passed through his head as he stopped to admire the trinkets in a shop window was, "I wonder who else is still around. Chances are most of the people I knew left and never looked back." Dismissing those thoughts the Firefox alumni continued toward the inn to get his room and settle in for the night.
