Chika was sitting in the corner all alone in one of the chairs she had pulled over there. Chika was upset, and her tears were falling like raindrops. after all she had just realized that the person she loved would never give her any love back. Not only that but she didn't have a date any more. She was truly alone.
Chika's beautiful white dress with puffy sleeves and a dark red-ish belt with the flower pin on it seemed pointless now. After all she had dressed up for the person who rejected her. Chika's hair which had been straightened and had a lot of cherry blossoms in it was now falling apart what did it mater though, she didn't have anyone to impress anymore.
Chika started to think how much she missed Osamu, and wished he was alive again. " I wish Osamu was here, then i could have some fun." Osamu was fun, this wasn't. If Osamu had been here, chika would have had some one to dance with. She would have pretened to gripe about it but she would have danced with him anyways.
As Chika sat there she began to wish that there was some one she could trust, because when ever she put her trust on some one, they just ended up leaving her in the end. It had been like this her hole life. Chika felt just plain cursed. Chika was at least hopping someone would come up and hang with her tonight even if it wasn't for a long time. A companion would be nice.
Times were exciting for Ravenclaws, for this night was theirs to relish in. After the long and grueling bout between the four houses, particularly the narrow victory between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, the best house had finally emerged for this year. Sam was aglow with a cocky grin, socializing with and congradulating all his house buddies in turn. Everyone in Ravenclaw was so reserved and studious most of the time, and this was the perfect chance to get to know the geeks behind the books.
Wearing a long-sleeved blue dress shirt with black pants, Sam had even cut his hair shorter for the occasion. He had parted his hair, leaving his spikey chunks slanted to the back in a surprisingly attractive flair. He didn't spend a lot of time in front of the mirror most of the time, but tonight he wanted to make sure he looked really good for the dance, even if he had no date. He even wore a pair of contacts, though he couldn't stand having those things on his eyes on a normal basis.
Leaving the crowd, Sam decided to get himself something to drink. It was amazing how aglow this place was, with the unique blue glow emanating form the chandelier. The Headmaster sure knew how to throw a party, especially ones as unforgettable as this. His eyes caught a single figure huddled in the corner though, a girl sobbing heavily. It was hard to tell since everyone was so nicely dressed for the occasion, but it eventually clicked that it was the girl from the lake and his DADA class, Chika Chisama. He remembered that Chika liked the goth-loli dress look, and this was basically her but with her hair down. The poor thing looked a mess, especially with her carefully laid cherry blossoms now fluttering to the floor around her little feet.
Sam took a breath, his expression now filled with serious dread. He really wanted to talk to her, to comfort her, but was this really his place to do so? She had that Slytherin boy she was always hanging around, afterall, but-
His gaze then froze, and his eyes scanned the dance floor. There was the Slytherin Prefect all right, and there seemed to be very little space between him and a comely redhead. Freaking douche. His eyes then turned back appologetically to the lonesome Japanese girl. Any idiot could do this kind of math. And the one fact it spelt out was this:
Sam was treading into dangerous territory here.
Brown dress shoes touched the floor softly as he approached her, and knealt down for him to see her eyes. He looked up in her face, pain evident in his smile as he tried to be assuring, comforting, understanding, all these things that were present in cool guys. All these things that Sam just seemed to fail at.
"Now what's a pretty thing like you doing, crying here by yourself?" he asked, trying his best to sound confident in himself, confident enough to help Chika back onto her own two feet. He wasn't even sure what the right thing was to say in this situation, or if he was the right guy to be saying anything to her.
"Would you like to dance with me?"

Chika let out another pile of sobbs. This time she let them out nice and loudly. She figured a good cry would do her good. She hadn't realy had time to cry about anything since before Osamu died, after all she had to be the adult while her mother and father cried to her.
Chika noticed Sam aprotching her. Was he headed twords her or eles were. well did it matter it was his night because he was a Ravenclaw. Chika got lost in thought again. She wished that she hadn't come to the dance and had forgoten all about it she would have been able to hang in the common room this way.
Chika was snapped back into reality when Sam knealt down and asked her why she was crying, and he called her a pretty thing. Chika wasn't sure how to respond. After some thought finally the words came out " I... was... rejected...and... now I miss my .... Brother... also I'm ...not very ... very ... pre.. Pretty... at all..." Chika stamered her words between sobs.
Sam then asked her to dance. " Sure... but I'm not a very good dancer. I might step on your feet. " Chika said glumly as she stood up and wiped the tears from her eyes
Sam smiled, this time a little more relaxedly. Well, with this it was confirmed, and she wasn't merely having a good cry because her house came in last. Not that Sam would come here to rub that in her face, it'd be much funner to peg Phugsius with that harsh reality. Of course, it didn't feel good to know that he had just abandoned her. No doubt, the other Hufflepuff he was dancing with was very charming, but it was no excuse for the guy to just forget about a girl whom obviously had feelings for him, someone he even promised a date to the dance with. Well, it was a long year, and if Phugs was gonna try to act the playboy, then Sam was sure he'd find chances to hit that dullard where it hurt. Samuel Nanten, along with being a damn good thief, was a master sabateur.
Sam looked down at the shorter girl, and he smiled reassuringly as she reluctantly consented to dance. So stepping on his toes might be a problem, hm? He decided to fix that as his hands rested on both sides of her waist, lifting the indeed light girl up and placing her to stand both her feet on top of his own feet. Incidentally, footwork was second nature to a thief, so he had no problems about taking the lead with the dance. His smile was not only confident, it was even charismatic at this point. It felt kinda nice to hold her this close, as well.
Chika's form fully pressed to his, he began his dance, guiding the two out to the dance floor where everyone else was. Each movement was smooth, his shuffles were fluid, and he made sure to go at just a slow enough pace that his clumsy dance partner wouldn't fall out of his pace.

Chika was supriesed when She was lifted up by Sam. The last time some one had lifted her up was when her brother ha lifted her up and swong her around, when he had first gotten to Firefox.
When sam took her out to the dance floor chika steped off of his feat. She didn't wan't to feel like a littel kid dancing on a persons feat. She folowed Sam's movement as one song started. She glied along following sams movements. On the dance floor chika was graceful, almost like a butterfly gliding from place to place. her Neckless swoung from side to side as she danced.
" Sorry I just didn't wanna look like a kid, by dancing on your feat." She mumbled to Sam. Chika was at least happy that someone took time out to dance with her. And she was happy it was Sam, after all he was a new friend and hadn't abandoned her yet. Not that she had to worry about that after all he seemed nice.
The girl stubbornly removed her feet from his as the song picked up, and he smirked as he allowed her to display an equal amount of dazzling footwork and graceful movements, serenly floating about and her necklace swinging with her hair. The band picked up with a more powerful rhythm, and Sam found himself genuinely enjoying himself with Chika. She wasn't such a child, after all. The lights cascading from the chandelier cycled through a rainbow of hues, with fairy-like spotlights floating all about in this magical atmosphere.
"Sorry about that." he heaved as they finished. There was a lot of energy involved in that dance, so he had to catch his breath for a moment. "You dance splendidly, Chika. I would have asked you to be my date if I knew this was going to be so fun." he wanted to make her feel better, but he was also speaking the truth. Even though he wasn't so out-going and gregarious, Sam was still interested in having a good time. And no matter how pretty a prospecting date would be, he wouldn't be interested in taking a girl to the dance if she was too concerned about looking pretty to enjoy the dance properly. He couldn't think of a better date to this dance than Chika-chan.
Chika smiled when the dance was finished. She was happy again. She couldn't wait for the next song to begin. She noticed sam was tired from this dance, well after all it was a long song with many movements. " Thank you for the complment" Chika said smiling. " Well We can just pretend that I never had a date or that your my date" Chika said jokingly not knowing how sam would take it.
"You look tired would you like to go get something to drink with me" Chika pointed to a table with drinks on it. She smiled and walked over to the table. " When were done, If you like we can dance again". Chika was in high spirits again. She was having so much fun. She was happy Sam was here to have fun with her.
Well, it certainly didn't take much for the girl to return to her usual bubbly, cheerful self. A few smooth (though awkwardly spoken) words, and an enthralling dance later, and the ravenclaw honestly wouldn't have known Chika was crying her eyes out moments before. Sure, it wasn't Sam's responsibility to fix that homely Prefect's screw-up, but Chika really was a terrific girl. She didn't deserve to just be abandoned, regardless of the reason. Sam was enjoying himself too, so the arrangement worked out rather nicely.
Sam's breath caught at the prospect of the girl's proposition. Sam, being her date? It was nice that she was no longer upset, but he was a bit confused. Were her feelings for a person really so easily disregarded? From the degree that she was hurt, it was obvious the Charadus just didn't have feelings for her to begin with. Well, if that was what she wanted, he didn't have anything better to do at the moment.
"Sure, let's get some water and wait for a slow dance." he said with an encouraging smile and took her hand in his hand. He tilted his head to the consessions stand, giving her an almost roguish smirk.
"Let's go, then."

Chika frowned, she had said something completely unnecessary. Her comment made her seem insensitive and very fickle. She knew that she had wanted to forget the one-sided love she had, but did Sam understand that? She couldn't tell. " Sorry about my comment just now, please ignore it. I just want to forget my little one sided love, but i now that takes lots of time" Chika mumbled to Sam. She didn't know why she has to explain herself. She just didn't want Sam to hate her. She figured it was because he was a new friend and she didn't want to lose a friend she had just made.
" Sure that sounds like a good plan to me" Chika was taken aback when Sam grabbed her hand. Not many people had ever grabbed her hand like that. in fact Sam was the first one to do so at Firefox. She looked at Sam's smile and Smiled herself. She had decided that she would let Sam lead the way
"Eh, don't worry about it." he said, after hearing her appology about her suggestion to be her date.
"A person's true nature isn't usually so easy to find. Charadus, for example, is a complete jerk. He probably didn't give you that impression at first, which was why I think your tears were genuine. As for being my date, I think its appropriate, since you deserve the benefit of the doubt. You deserve the chance to quickly move on from such an embarassment, and you deserve to enjoy this evening to the fullest. I'd be happy if I could help give that to you." his last sentence was fainter than everything else he said, but he squeezed her hand a little more firmly as he said it. Sam was smooshed together with Chika as the two tried to maneuver through the crowd, before finally reaching the drink table.
Sam reached out and took a pair of plastic cups. The ravenclaw then took the ladle from the punch bowl and filled their cups with the crimson, fruity beverage. It was icy as he guzzled it quickly, the refreshing chill rushing down his throat.
"Ahh, that was good. You ready to go again, Chika-chan?" he asked as he tossed the cup in a nearby trashcan andwaited for her to take his hand again.
" I don't think he's a jerk. He just fell in love with someone else. Love is unpredictable." Chika found herself making excuses for someone who had broken her heart, again. " I'm glad that your willing to help me and that you feel that way. Chika smiled as Sam grabbed her hand tigter.
Chika let out another one of her strange noise as she was pushed into Sam. Being squished was not at all fun. Chika let out a huge breath when they got out of the crowed and to the drink table.
Chika took the cup of juice and sipped it lightly and then drunk it slowly until it was gone. She placed the cup into the trash can. Chika then grabbed Sam's hand. " Okay lets go" Chika smiled as she said that. Tonight was going to be wonderful.
Sam clicked his tongue, somewhat exasperated by her juvinile perspective on the so-called flightiness of love. He was starting to wonder if something like this has happened to Chika in the past.
"Chi, love's not just a matter of changing one's mind all of a sudden. I don't know the situation between you guys, but since you seem to want me to stay out of it, I'll do just that. But even if he didn't share your feelings, he was still your date. The very least he could have done was be straight with you about it if he had a change of heart."
It was pointless for him to rant, though. He wasn't sure what kind of boyfriend Chika would end up with next, but he certainly hoped she wouldn't attract another guy who would just use her until he merely tired of her or whatever. Sam didn't pretend to be an authority on love, but he felt that a guy had a responsibility to a girl if she had feelings for him, one way or another. His aggravation faded though, as he waited for her to finish her fruit punch, slowly sipping it till she was done. She took his hand and smiled, gleefully at his side as they went out to enjoy a much slower, gentler song.
Sam released her hand and brought both his nimble hands upon her waist, gently swaying with her as he started trying to match the song's rhythm. His smile returned, his adoring stare down upon his beguiling Asian dance partner. Regardless of her opinion of Phugsius, the guy did nearly ruin her evening. He wouldn't say another word on the matter.
"So then, are you enjoying classes?" he asked as he quirked his head slightly. It was a feeble attempt, but he figured he'd try changing the subject to something less frustrating.

Chi... Chi..., Chika had been called Chi-chan but never Chi before. the lack of honorfixs had baffled her. " you are correct Sam-kun, that's not love, well at least on his part, and your right it would have been nice if he had told me. I need to stop making excuses for people who hurt me" Chika said as if she had just realized what she was doing wrong.
As Chika followed Sam to the dance floor. she thought it would be better to drop the subject and not talk about it anymore. As they danced Chika excepted the invatation for a chage of topic.
"I love all my classes, I mean yes I'm enjoying them" Chika beamed happily. " I have one class with a professor who used to be a student, in fact he was one of the first people I met here at Firefox. He seemed so awkward in the first class, poor Sparky err I mean Professor Cobalt". Chika laughed at her silly mistake, but it was hard to call Sparky Professor Cobalt, after she met him once. "So how about you Sam-kun, are you enjoying you classes?"
Sam lifted the hufflepuff in his arms and spun her around as he allowed Chika to talk. She didn't have anything bad to say about her classes, which of course won some cool points with Sam. It was nice to know that he may have found a prospecting study buddy in Chika. It didn't help that she was so cute while she was talking about it, though.
"Mm, I love my classes too. When I first came here, I didn't think I'd have anything to do until fall. Now, I got more classes than I know what to do with. I feel like every class and every day is one new adventure after another. Professor Halifirien even asked me to be his research assistant." Sam seemed come more alive when he was talking about classes. There was so much to do, so much to learn, he honestly felt he was becoming better for it. He couldn't help his silly grin, and hoped he wasn't putting her out with it.
Chika was once again amazed by him picking her up. Was this a habit of his, picking people who were light enough to be picked. this time he spun her around as she talked. boy had she stared to get dizzy.
"It's ok it's not just a Ravenclaw thing, it's a person who like to study thing, but I suppous that most of the Ravenclaws are like that, but I have only met three Ravenclaws before you so I don't really know. I'm glad you like your classes". Chika smiled even as she got dizzier and dizzier. " Wow so you became Professor Halifirien's research assistant, That's just amazeing. I'm glad for you". Chika was happy to see Sam come alive talking about class. She was glad to see someone else happy about there classes.
Chika suddenly felt realy dizzy. " Sa...Sam...Sam-kun... Please... stop spinning me.." Chika felt like she was going to pass out soon
(Ooc: Sorry, Since you didn't say any different I assumed Sam was still spinning Chika)
