The common room was empty. It always was these days. School was in full swing, and the Hufflepuff dwelling was as empty and cold as if it was abandoned. Still somewhere a door squeaked on it's hinges as it closed shut and a patter of feet made their way down a hallway.
A girl's light soprano voice filled the empty corridor and drifted into the common room below. It was quiet enough to let the voice carry although Rezna was not singing at all loudly, out of habit. Really, she would probably not have sung at all, but the knowledge that no one would hear her and the deafening silence encouraged her otherwise.
A gray cat ran ahead of his mistress and lightly descended the stairs into what seemed to be an empty common room. That was no surprise to either animal or girl. Whatever Hufflepuff loyalty there was, it did not have enough strength to keep what had once been her family close to itself and to her.
Now Rezna had slowly made her way down the stairs, careful to not let her voice jump with her step. Looking around, her green eyes fell on Diamond who was swinging his tale as if in rhythm to her voice on a windowsill. Coming to stand behind him, a pale hand falling lightly on his head, the blond haired girl gazed out over the spacious lands below, somehow also just as emptly and lifeless as the room she was in.
"For a perfect world," she finished in a whisper and let silence consume the common room once again. And with the silence, an odd feeling of both homesickness and utter sadness hit her so suddenly that she felt hot tears threatening to fall. Shaking her head, she forced herself under control, for control was the only thing that kept her from falling to pieces in this lonely place.
They say the time has come for us to start again
I believe that's true
They say the time has come for us to make amends
And I believe that too
Why tell me why?
Is it all so hard to find?
I pray each day
I believe that's true
They say the time has come for us to make amends
And I believe that too
Why tell me why?
Is it all so hard to find?
I pray each day

For a perfect world
Where children are laughing
Lovers romancing
Time stands still
A perfect world
There's nothing to cry for
No one to die for
Wonderful
In a perfect world
Where children are laughing
Lovers romancing
Time stands still
A perfect world
There's nothing to cry for
No one to die for
Wonderful
In a perfect world

Our father's father says that things were better then
How easy they forget
On every page in every book of history
a thousand tears were shed
There's hope in our hearts and love in our eyes
Day after day I keep searching
Why tell me why
Is it all so hard to find?
I pray each day
How easy they forget
On every page in every book of history
a thousand tears were shed
There's hope in our hearts and love in our eyes
Day after day I keep searching
