Charlotte had spent a good ten minutes storming around her room, packing up bits and pieces. That was the final straw. Forgoil couldn't ground her, couldn't keep her in the common room. He wasn't allowed to. There was no way Prefects could do that.
Throwing a text book into one of the bags, Charlotte looked out of the window, and suddenly paused. It wasn't their fault that she had been like she had been, it was her fault. But the brunette was firm in her resolve. She wouldn't change back. She couldn't. If she did, then the young Hufflepuff would be bound to let people close again, and that was the last thing she wanted.
Using her wand to put the last few things in her bags, Charlotte tied them onto the end of the broom. Listening out for anyone coming up the stairs, and satisfied no one was. Charlotte gave a tiny smirk. "I'm so glad to be getting out of here," she whispered, heading towards the window. Like heck were they keeping her locked up in the common room, or in this school.bg

"Glad Miss McCartney? I think that you should be anything but glad under the current circumstances.", came a voice that was muffled behind the closed door. Even though he shouldn't have gone into the Girl's Dorms, this was an expection because if Charlotte went against his sentence; that would undermine the entire principle of it. With the Scot was the key to getting into Charlotte's room; the badger Rawnblade who was already starting to break through the timbers that made up the floor. Forgoil had trained Rawnblade in case there was any incidents in a situation where he wouldn't be able to enter a room. But Forgoil just wanted to get Rawnblade in there first so he could stop Charlotte from getting away.
Only after five minutes of tunneling, Rawnblade's pked out from the floor boards on the other side of the door. Spotting the broom in Charlotte's hands, Rawnblade sprang forth and sank his teeth into the broom; hoping to keep Lottie in the room until Forgoil got there. Hearing the sounds of Rawnblade growling in his struggles, Forgoil decided to be more practical and ram the door than run back to his room for his wand. After 5 attempts, he managed to get through and caught Charlotte in the act.
"Listen Miss McCartney", said Forgoil; his voice dropping as he finally started to show his anger at her actions, "You might not be the person that I knew and cared for, but you are under my jurisdiction and I will not let you lose this house any points on the account that you disobeyed a Prefect. Now as a friend I ask you to comply; if not then I am afraid that I will have to get physical in my actions as you have earlier." His right hand grabbed her wrist and reeled her in like an expert fisherman. If she wanted a fight, then Charlotte McCartney was in for one. Perhaps knocking sense into was the only way to revive their Little Lottie.bg

"Okay Rawnblade, if you get off, I'll let you run around the lake as much as you like!" Charlotte had tried as a bribe when the Prefect's pet badger had entered her room, though with no success. His teeth stayed firmly in her broom, leaving her having to choose between an attempt of taking the badger with her, or staying.
A few seconds after, the choice was made for her. Rolling her eyes as Forgoil spoke, the brunette girl had just made a move when the Scottish boy wrapped his hand around her wrist and pulled her closer. Trying to pull her wrist free was impossible, and she had already dropped her broom in surprise before and her wand was in a bag somewhere. Probably underneath the tent.
Standing silently, not turning to look at Forgoil at all, but rather staring at her strewn bags not far from the two, Charlotte thought for a moment. Her jaw was still hurting from where Kasey had hit her before, and the brunette wouldn't be surprised if it came up in a colourful bruise the next morning, but nevertheless... she had to say something.
"Go on, then," she almost whispered, a slightly menacing, disobediant tone present in her voice. "Explain your master plan. Explain how you're going to keep me in here. You can't do it. I'm sure of it," Charlotte explained, her mind already trying to figure out ways. She would still have to go to classes, that much was true, and from there... there were far too many in the school for anyone to be able to keep an eye on one specific student.
A knowing grin crossed her face at this thought. Maybe she would win this war after all. If only she could win the debut battle.
"He alone may not be able to keep you here my dear, but two people, two people can do quite nicely I think." A serious voice said from the doorway of the room where Roan was leaning. Her arms were folded and she was glaring at the girl stuck in Forgoil's grip. "You have caused enough trouble Little Miss Lottie, I suggest you stop it now, and listen to Forgoil here. Or you can listen to me, and I can assure you, he will be much more reasonable then me." There was no mirth in her voice, no apology or pity in her hard hazel eyes. This girl had to stop, she was an original Hufflepuff, she was hurting too many people by acting like this, and it wasnt fair to them at all.
Taking out her wand, Roan said a spell and moved the girl's bags out into the hallway to that there was no way they could be used for the planned escape. Even the broomstick was levitated from the badger's grip and moved to the bags outside, so that Lottie had no escape. She had no choice but to hear Forgoil out and make a decision. Imagine Roan's surprise coming into the Common Room, heading up to the girls dorms to sit down for a rest, and hearing growling noices and what sounded like a scuffle from one of the rooms, she was not very happy. Her hazel eyes rested on the ferocious badger for a moment, and she shook her head and sighed before looking at Forgoil.
"How do you plan to keep her here? Im not sure if the teachers would like you to detain a student, and I think that is even beyond your powers as a Prefect...but, then again, Im sure something can be managed..." She added the last part with an angry glare towards Charlotte. What had made the girl change so much? The Lottie she had heard so much about was a lively and happy girl, who looked like she was on a constant sugar high. Not a girl who went around kicking Prefects and throwing a hissy fit while trying to escape. Charlotte may think she was acting older or more mature, but she was just acting more childish in the process by not acting who she really was.

The bags and the broom had been replaced by one girl Charlotte was beginning to get sick and tired of. Roan. Admittedly, she had tried to help bail the female Prefect out of some trouble in Charms, but it hadn’t worked, and they had all been given a detention, but that was the only time the younger girl had seemed to co-operate with the Prefect.
It was true that Forgoil, even despite his unreasonableness by keeping her in the common room, would be a lot easier to deal with than Roan would be. After all, didn’t she used to have most of the Hufflepuff house practically wrapped around her little finger? The grey-haired boy seemed to be seeing that version of her rather than the one who was currently stuck in the dormitories with Forgoil holding her by the wrist and Roan blocking the door.
In many ways, Roan was right, however. If two of them were making sure she stayed there, it was very unlikely Charlotte would get out of the common room without them noticing. “Fine, I’ll listen,” the brunette agreed grudgingly, giving another unsuccessful tug. She would listen, but whether she would take in what was being said was another matter entirely.

If Roan hadn't entered when she did, Forgoil didn't know if he could contain the pent-up emotions that were reaching a boiling point; ready to explode at a moment's notice. And that taunting smile that laced Charlotte's face was more than enough to make the grey-haired boy want to take action against her just as Kasey did. He admired her for that; he didn't think that anyone had it in them to hurt the person that was once their little angel, but the minute that Kasey slugged her right in the jaw she showed him that perhaps with Lottie's change; they would have to change too. If Kasey could bring herself to hurt a person that she held close to her, then perhaps Forgoil would be able to do the same in the future, but not now since Roan was here.
"I have put some stock into what you asked Roan and I think that I have found a way to detain Charlotte here until she is reasonable. Should she prove to be unwilling to go with this change despite the large one that she has already made in herself, then I will ask the Headmaster myself to be allowed to detain you here since you are a danger to yourself and others, especially your friends.", said Forgoil as he released Lottie from his grip and moved backward to stand besides Roan by the door. This way there would be no escape for Charlotte; unless she wanted to kill herself by jumping out the window, but Forgoil had that base covered for he used his new found ability that he uncovered on the journey to Firefox University. With the sending of a simple thought, Rawnblade repositioned himself so that he stood infront of the window; so now there was no way she could escape.
"But if you are reasonable as we have tried to be toward you; then things will be different. We will you out of the Common Room on the condition that you only go to classes and excell in them. Roan and myself could alternate who tails you each day to make sure that you don't go overboard in anything, but it really is all up to how you act. The more you show us that you are a not a danger, then you will be given more freedom. It might be trips to the village or river, and it could be us not watching you as strictly. But should you fail in any class, then you will be confined here. And at night, I don't think you would mind if Roan took your wand and broom into her posession for the night and locked you in your room.", said Forgoil in a strict voice with a quick glance at Roan to see if she agreed with his idea. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he leaned against the side of the door frame opposite of Roan's and sighed as he looked at Charlotte.
It was as if she was a caged beast that struck out at all that approached her, but against his own sensibility, the Scot thought there was a kitten inside that tiger skin. Well; they would have to wait for only time would tell.
"So Roan, I take it this is fair and reasonable for Miss Charlotte here. If she goes against this, then I will let you determine how to discipline her best. Now for you Charlotte; do you accept? If you don't then I suggest getting used to this abode." bg
Roan was a bit relieved that Lottie wasn’t going to fight this and would just listen. The girl would rather not use any magic on her just yet. And it seemed as well that she had arrived just in time, Forgoil didn’t look too happy in the least. The two prefects leaned in the doorway, and the badger was by the window, she wasn’t going anywhere. And not only that, Forgoil seemed to have this wonderful idea. It caused her to pale for a moment and give a sigh while he explained. Tail her? Watch her? Oh that was all fine and dandy, who was being punished then? It would be a pity to give up her free time to watch over a girl who was being a little snot-nosed brat right now, when a good lesson was all that was needed. No, she wouldn’t be happy to become a watchdog, but she would do it all the same if it would bring Lottie back.
So replacing her annoyed look with a smirk, she looked at Lottie, scanning the girl over. Her hazel eyes were on the younger ‘Puff, but her words were for Forgoil. “Well that is an excellent idea from an excellent mind. Much more rational then my idea. And Id be quite happy to aide in the detaining of little Miss Lottie here, Im sure her wand and her broom would be welcome inside the magically locked trunk every night, Ill be sure to make room.” She said playfully, her eyes full of mirth. There was no need to be harsh with this topic, it wasn’t exactly as if the girl had a choice. If she had any sense she would comply, or she suspected that she and Forgoil would be dragging a certain brunette before the Headmaster. Then something else occured to her that put a wicked grin on her face.
It was time to think of a quick punishment, just in case Lottie refused the very generous offer. "Well, if you do not want to take us up on this, then as Forgoil has graciously said, I will choose your punishment. And Ive been rather bored lately with nothing to do, you dont want to know what my creative mind can come up with at a time like this. I would just accept your fate, and learn to deal with it all here. Besides, we wont be that bad when we are keeping an eye on you, just like hawks. Hawks that know how to cast a stunning spell and can disarm you of your wand should you try anything." Roan said ruefully, smiling at the girl and not moving from her place by the door.
"Oh, and as for the classes, you had better start doing better. Actually, we should be urging all the 'Puffs to do better after what happened in Charms." Roan turned her gaze towards her fellow Prefect, asking for help in her own way. She had been attending classes as best as possible, working really hard on her homework to get full or more then full credit so that they could have points. And now Charlotte had taken some of those hard-earned points away with a harsh cheek and ill words. Not only that, but they had detention, and at that thought, Roan winced. "No more of this 'I dont care, you all suck' nonsense, you are losing your house points, and I for one will not tolerate it. You will do better in classes, or I will know why."

Just as she had said, Charlotte had listened. To begin with, admittedly, her eyes had darted towards the window and almost as soon as they had, Rawnblade took up position there and left Charlotte effectively trapped. Leaning up against the bed post with her arms folded, the brunette's eyes started by looking between the two Prefects. The younger girl had opened her mouth to protest against her wand and broom being taken away at night, but quickly thought better of it as she noticed the smirk that had formed on Roan's face. It most definitely didn't show any signs of her declining.
Not even Charlotte would deny that she had changed, there was no way of getting around it, but it was her own way of coping, her own way of dealing with everything. If she gave across an 'I don't care' attitude, then it would show she didn't. Deep down however, there was something completely different going on not too much below the surface. Drama school had helped her so much before starting at MH.
Forgoil's suggestion would have been much more welcome than anything Roan could come up with, Charlotte was sure. The playful look on her almost gleeful face gave away the fact that she already had a few ideas going on in that head of hers. As for house points... "It's not my fault the Professors can't accept some home truths," the brunette muttered, moving to sit on the very edge of her bed, with a sudden sick feeling in the bottom of her stomach. They were serious. But had she really become a danger? Charlotte hadn't thought it had gone that far... but maybe it had. The small girl knew she shouldn't have kicked Forgoil, hence why she didn't retailiate to Kasey's actions, it would only have made things worse.
By the time Roan had finished talking, she felt so very small, smaller than she had done even after the incident with her Aunt and Uncle. Shivering at the thought, Charlotte's eyes dropped so she was looking at the floor and she silently nodded in acceptance. It sounded reasonable to her... and even though there was no hint of a lie on her face, the Hufflepuff girl had a feeling she wouldn't be able to comply for as long as the two had in mind. Maybe for a few days before she began to convienently forget to go straight back after classes.
Giving a small, quiet sigh and opening her mouth as if to say something else, it closed again quickly as she repeated the nod.
OOC: -kicks Froggy- Ive been waiting for you, but Im not going to keep her waiting much longer, so I wasn’t going to post, but here I go ^_^
BIC: After all the harsh things Roan had said, Lottie still accepted her punishment, and she accepted it quietly. The Prefect’s harsh demeanor changed though when she saw the girl begin to droop and lose that fire, only lashing out once. When the younger one did that, Roan glared at her. “That’s no excuse, you learn respect for your elders, those are your teachers. You must learn to respect people Lottie, no matter what, you always respect others. Whether they are younger or older, every single person deserves a shred of respect. So you will learn that, along with your magical lessons and such.” She said seriously, keeping her eyes concentrated on the younger girl in front of her. She couldn’t almost sense what was going on behind those eyes, and she gave a sigh and shook her head, chuckling to herself for a moment before raising her gaze once again, this time it was colder.
“Come come Lottie, I know you have a voice in there. You havnt been submissive or quiet or reserved for days, don’t try and trick me now with that, Im more clever. You are thinking something rebellious, aren’t you? Well, should you try and escape any of our tailings, Im sure Forgoil or I could think of something that could be a good punishment for you. This Common Room gets awefully filthy if it isn’t cleaned over night. It would be so easy to just ask the ones who clean it to take a night off, and see how well you do cleaning it. The muggle way.” She said with amusement in her eyes, glancing at Forgoil to see what he thought of this. The Common Room was large, with lots of students living in it. Lottie would have a lot of dusting and a lot of cleaning to do should that happen.
Then another thought came to her mind that needed to be addressed. "And, if you cannot keep up with your studies, keep your points and grades high, then I shall deem it as you have not been putting enough effort into it, and it shall be you and me, one on one, every night late into the night until you get the material perfect. And when I commit myself to learning a spell or an idea, I mean perfect, without a single flaw. You dont want to go through that, my body can handle little sleep and lots of stress, I dont know if you can. Plus we can always take away Quidditch as well. There are so many punishments rattling around in my brain, and there are more we could both come up with should you shirk your tasks, avoid our following, and not do as you are told." She said with ice in her eyes, feeling bad that she was trying to make the girl feel worse. But threats worked well, usually.
"Now speak girl, I know you have a tongue, we have not cut that out...yet...you must have thoughts on this matter, and I will hear them, but we dont have all day." She said with a sigh, leaning heavily on the doorframe and resting her head against the wood for a moment, waiting for Charlotte to give her input.bg

Cleaning? Extra lessons with Roan? No Quidditch? As each punishment was told, Charlotte flinched that little tiny bit. Cleaning she could deal with. Extra lessons with the Prefect sounded awfully terrifying and a life without Quidditch would be depriving her of the one thing she still loved to do. Flying set her free and allowed her to escape the confinements of normal life for once. Though last time she had played competitively at her old school, she had begun to get slightly aggressive and angry, nothing like the way the school transfer had affected her, however.
And now, she was about to begin a life of being followed everywhere she went, locked up overnight and watched twenty four seven, almost. And all over losing a few measly points.
As Roan snapped at her, telling her that she must have thoughts on the matter, the brunette girl looked down further. What were her thoughts on what had been said? Did she honestly have an opinion? It didn’t sound as though her opinion was going to sway the matter towards or away from her favour, so why should she give it?
However, it didn’t seem as though either of them were going to go away until she said at least something, and so, with a tired sigh, she glanced up. “You want to hear my opinion?” Charlotte asked, not standing up from her position on the bed. “You really want to know?” the Hufflepuff repeated, her voice getting that little tiny bit louder. “I think it sucks. Really, I do. That’s my thoughts on the matter. But hey, what does it matter what I think about it? You guys are the rules around here, you guys decide what’s going to happen, so I doubt I’ll even get a say,” and it was there. Some of the rebellious fire that had fired up Charlotte McCartney’s brown eyes earlier in the conversation had returned, and once again, it didn’t look like it would go away any time soon. If they had dropped it there and then, the girl probably would have stayed quiet for the rest of the evening.
But Little Miss Prefect couldn’t just accept that she had accepted, however reluctantly, and if she wanted to know Charlotte’s opinion on the matter, then boy would she know it. “As for one on one lessons, I don’t need them. I can do the work, it’s whether I choose to or not. Whatever happened to free-rights? I think it’d be better to learn on my own in the library rather than sit in classes. Maybe some things would be done quicker. Quidditch? It’s the one thing I love more than anything, but if you want to take that away, then so be it. Cleaning? It’d be a better way to spend my evenings than staying locked up in here. So really, either way, it’d be better. Besides, can you guys even do all of this. You’re just Prefects. Not the Headmaster!”
