Of course, it could have waited. It wouldn't have done Aednat all that much harm to wait a little while before she found Sylph to talk things over with her. In fact, it wouldn't really have made much of a difference at all. Things were on Aednat's mind now though, and she didn't much feel like waiting around. Besides, the sooner she told Sylph everything, the longer they'd have to talk it over, if it took that much thinking. Aednat liked trusted and respected Sylph perhaps beyond any other at the Firefox. Besides being her friend, the girls had been involved in certain events back at MH together and Aednat knew that she'd always find someone to depend on in Sylph. In fact, it wasn't long at all since the two had briefly mentioned reforming the group they'd been part of - Sylph had captained it- after hearing of the attacks on the Triangle Tunnel.
It was for all of those reasons that Aednat sought Sylph out now. She'd been speaking to a fellow Gryffindor, James, about the attacks and this new, apparent evil. He had put to her a surprising proposal, and it was this that she wanted to discuss with Sylph. Considering Sylph her friend she would have wanted the other girl's opinion anyway, but considering that they had talked about something so similar themselves Aednat definitely needed to talk to Sylph about what had been said between the two Gryffindors at the Shining River.
Tossing her books to one side of her bed, Aednat rolled over and swung her legs around, pulling herself off the comfortable bed. She checked each of the girl's dorms, for who knew where Sylph would be? As prefect, the other girl could have been in any one of them, taking care of something. No joy, though. Well, not to worry. She hadn't even checked downstairs in the common room yet.
Singing to herself, she perched on the banisters at the top of the stairs and slid down to the common room, landing with a slight laugh as she almost tripped. She turned curiously left and right, but her blue eyes didn't find their mark. In fact, there didn't appear to be anyone there at all! Just as that thought crossed her mind, Aednat spotted a glimpse of shockingly purple hair appear for a second from the couch.
"Sylph!" she exclaimed, and bounded over, leaping over the arm of the couch and pouncing on to the end of it by Sylph's feet, where the strength of her jump made her bounce again for a second. Her dark brown curls fell into a curly mess around her shoulders as she landed and grinned at Sylph.
"Glad to see you, Sylphy!" she stated, pretty unnecessarily. "Gotta talk to you 'bout somethin'!"
