It seemed as though Rezna had traversed all over the school in the short span of the year that she had been there. In her high-and-mighty mind she figured she knew the place well enough for its grand size. But as most thoughts of such nature go, at some point they have to be proven false, just to keep the thinker sane. However that fact did not dawn on the blond-haired Hufflepuff until the darkness of the current hallway she had blindly strayed into blended in with her black school robes that she wore over her more casual outfit of blue jeans and tank top.
Slowing her pace, the girl couldn't help but feel like kicking herself for her stupidity. Rezna you're an idiot! she told herself crossly. Five minutes down this hallway, this silent hallway, and you couldn't figure out earlier that it was not the way to the dungeons?! Granted she had yet to be in the dungeons, but still, she would not give herself such an excuse.
The girl was about to stop and turn around when fate decided to that for her, physically and painfully. Within the darkness of the corridor, the 'Puff's green eyes did not make out the fact that the hall had ended before a plain wooden door on a plain stone wall. This wall didn't take well to a head-on collision, as Rezna soon realized and experienced as her hand went up to her throbbing forehead.
Rezna would have turned around then, accept for the fact that fate dealt her another free-move card, making the girl's hand brush over the handle of the door as she turned around to head back the way she had come. Curiosity spiked, Rezna turned back around and groped for the handle. Finding it, she pushed down on it and let the door swing inwards. Moving forward, the girl forgot about the pain in her head as her head peaked through the doorway.
As she did so, the Hufflepuff was surprised to find a large well lit room, one that reminded her of the dueling hall she had ventured into at her old school, Magic Horizons. Apparently, Firefox was not devoid of one either. Figuring that she could raid the potions room in the dungeons and get the ingredient she needed for another dragon-growing potion some other time, Rezna slowly entered the Dueling Hall and let the door close behind her.
Traditionally, most of the room, especially the center, was bare and undecorated and sported only a stone floor that already suffered a few scorch marks. The only flammable things in the Hall were a few wooden counters along the walls of the room, and Rezna figured they carried many a repelling and defensive charm on them anyways. As she walked the perimeter of the room, the blond girl noticed a pair of large double doors on the opposite from where she stood. That was most likely the main entrance, one that most sensible people used. But since when am I sensible? she asked herself wryly. And it seemed that she wasn't going to start being that any time soon, for a sensible person would have left the empty Dueling Hall, but other thoughts already spurred Rezna into action.
As she passed a small counter, the girl reached out her hand and grabbed a small book before heading for the center of the Hall. There she took off her robe and made herself comfortable as she sat down on the stone floor, book in hand. "If no one's here, might as well make the room useful," she said out loud as she flung the book away in front of her. It landed with a dull thud a few feet away. "Professor Elensar said that telekinesis is a power we all inherently have, only don't practice. Let's see if she was right…"
Relaxing herself, Rezna focused her mind on the book that lay before her. Focusing on it with her mind, the girl tried to make the book rise on its own, but as she did so, unwillingly spells came to the 'Puff's mind, spells that began to lift the book for her. Muttering curses on the idea of silent casting, the blond tried again, this time trying clear her mind while focusing her mind on the idea of lifting the book off of the ground. The book didn't budge. The girl tried again, even squinting her eyes with the effort of trying to bring the book back to her as her teacher did that day in class. Once, she thought she saw it wobble a little, but whether it was imaginary or not, that seemed to be the best she could to do. Glancing away from the book some fifteen minutes later, Rezna focused her green eyes on the door, her gaze almost begging the double doors to open and let someone come in, a distraction from her pitiful attempts at psychic magic.
Unsurprisingly, the doors didn't open as she commanded them and the girl figured she might as well try again. After all, the potion she previously thought of making could wait, and it wasn't as though she was in any hurry to go anywhere else. Besides, the Hall was as quiet as any place in the palace was going to get. But it seemed the only good that came out of Rezna being there was the fact that she was strengthening her temper. Telekinesis was tedious and boring when unsuccessful, and it seemed that even dueling would be more fun at the moment, though Rezna wasn't usally one to duel for fun. Though at the moment she was of a different mind.
