As his feet shuffled out to the Dueling Field, dragging along the stony pathway, and then onto the short green grass of the entarnce to the Dueling Field, he started to hum a battle hymn, actually, it was more of a drinking song than anything, but it had been caught in his head since... forever. The cheery tones made him sick. With all the despair that was about now, what was there to be happy about? These thoughts were rudely interrupted by a lot of drunken voices in his head singing the same song.
Here's to Donegal
And her people brave and tall
Here's to Antrim, to Leitrim and to Derry
Here's to Cavan and to Louth,
Here's to Carlow in the South
Here's to Longford, to Waterford, and Kerry.
Chorus:
Then clink your glasses, clink
'Tis a toast for all to drink
And let every voice join in the chorus
For Ireland is our home
And wherever we may roam
We'll be true to the dear land that bore us.
And her people brave and tall
Here's to Antrim, to Leitrim and to Derry
Here's to Cavan and to Louth,
Here's to Carlow in the South
Here's to Longford, to Waterford, and Kerry.
Chorus:
Then clink your glasses, clink
'Tis a toast for all to drink
And let every voice join in the chorus
For Ireland is our home
And wherever we may roam
We'll be true to the dear land that bore us.
Had he not been mournful at the time, he may have hated the song less, for he was the one who got it stuck in there in the first place. Why was he out here again? He thought, but he could not remember. Yet, he still could not grasp why he was dragging himself to the dueling field. Finally, he remembered. He was going to duel Jeremy, a Gryffindor. He had scheduled the duel as a friendly. He had only done this out of boredom. He was in the common room, when he remembered how good a dueler he was. Immediately after that, he lettered Jeremy, asking him to come to the Fields to duel him.
He would crush this boy. Or at least try.
