Tracing his most stealthy but quickest steps through the foliage, Tom-cat had been trecking in the forest for about 40 minutes. There were no resident fortune tellers that he knew of in Drakborough (Hah, maybe he should seduce a gypsie and open a business with her), and Lucre had some questions that he needed answers to. Granted, he could easily come up with these answers on his own, but in the state he was in, he really wanted the second opinion of a real authority. Something like that Kirin he once spoke to. The feline's thoughts ran like sap over memories of the day he stood before the mystical deer-like creature, the creature grading its judging words over his heart like an unchecked conscience. And honestly, he just was not brave enough to let his conscience do even that much right now, even though, as irony had it, he really didn't have anything better to do as he kept his senses sharp about his surroundings, and kept himself aware of his steps and avoided anything that make an audible detection of the black cat to predators, even though he knew his scent was probably an even bigger foil on his part.
The creature he looked for was not even a deer persay, but from what he remembered from his up-close experience, this translucient god of the far East came to most resemble a deer in appearance more than anything else. But he was getting ahead of himself; was this particular Kirin even in the forest anymore? Did it not venture so deep into the forest's depths? Was he more likely to run into something else? Most likely, the jury wouldn't even have to step out to answer that last one.
