Mild Read: I think the board re-arranging stuff other than Drakkie is another topic to discuss.
Talon: I think you missed the point about Drakborough not being an adult only NC-17 club. The topic/problem of adults and critters vs. student interaction and whatnot is a decent discussion topic, but not completely relevant if we’ve established that Drakborough is clearly a place for students and staff to post. As for everyone making super wizards and 500 year old draculas if they had free reign, that clearly wouldn’t happen, as evidenced by the fact that it hasn’t happened. Despite your bitching, we’re rather lenient with character creation and essentially let most people who show up going: “I WANNA BE AN ELDER EVIL!” go ahead and do what they want (remember, collective narrative- they can only effect the world to the extent that the community allows them to). We just make fun of them IC and OOC until they realize it’s a dumb idea. Social sanctions do more to curb this problem than iron-clad restrictions.
P-Rage: I think, though I also believe this discussion is probably extensive enough for it’s own thread, that you should then look for a way to incorporate your character within the experiences of students, to make Talon QQ less when they stick around after someone makes merry with them. Also, the Drakborough idea isn’t just for adults (redundant statement is redundant). Though it is a nice medium for adults to interact with students. XD
Orca: I HATE YOU! NEVER POST WITH ME AGAIN! *cough* I mean…. If you are going to make an argument for or against an idea, then be prepared for people to cut it down. If the opposite of logical and well-written is illogical gibberish, then I do happen to care if their entire argument against a change to the site is illogical gibberish. I will then proceed to treat it a such in the ensuing argument. Of course, 100% in favor of the idea: “who cares what you play as, let’s have fun!”
But yes, big problem here is a confusing jumble of ideas. It seems three separate arguments have cropped up:
Drakborough- The actual topic of this thread. Should we expand it so all the people here can frolick around this highly active board, with more than just one general board for them to post in?
Students/adults/critters posting- The problem of having a big school (and maybe a big town), yet not a lot of active students in it. Problem of trying to find a bridge between students and all the other members on the site. After all, with critters and adults other than professors not allowed in the school, it’s no wonder they end up ignoring the students. For that matter, there’s still the professor problem. <_<
Cleaning up boards- I count this one as another topic other than Drakborough. Why? Drakborough is a highly populated board, so deserves special attention. More than the Tunnel or Nymph woods or whatever. There’s a lot of trash lying’ around that could be cleaned up.
