Mass Layoffs Yeah, these guys don't show up anymore. And since their names are all shiny and visible, newbies are going to PM them if they have questions or want to RP some plot. And then they’re not gonna get an answer. Not good.
Correct me if some of these guys are alts that no one uses, but in my opinion, if you're not RPing with the alt, you might as well sack the useless waste of space.
I'm not trying to get you guys to use your alts once or twice to pretend to be active. Instead, please carefully consider whether or not you can handle being active with all your alts, especially if they have a school staff position. If not, it doesn't make sense to occupy that space when someone else can devote more time to interacting with the main body of our RPers, ie the students, and it's never nice to leave people hanging if your character becomes important to their character's development.

Professor Bryane is me because I suck toe.
I had a couple of threads but then shit went down and I caved, haven't had the muse to start back up. I might get back in to that soon, if I think enough students would go.
Willow here is a good example of what to do. It's pretty demotivating to post if you think no one's going to show up. If you're not sure how many people will show up, start a sign-up sheet so you can get a head count.
Of course, remember to follow through and post the class in a few days. I find that less than a week is a good time frame. If there's too much time between sign up and the class, people are likely to have lost interest by then. It's all about momentum.
Sign-up sheets tend to fail. At least, that's how I see it. A lot of people can't make it to all of the threads, and a lot of characters may be inactive by the time the class actually starts up. And then, it gets complicated because there are absent students and so on. Besides, some people may be hesitant to make a commitment like that, so they may just avoid the class altogether.
For evidence of sign-up sheet failure, you may look at the numerous sign-up threads in the various classrooms and check the classes they correspond to.
Anyway, Sparky/Whites said you can suck it.

Notice how class is posted like a month after the signup thread is, though. If it's only a few days, generally the people who signed up join in. As long as the professor follows through and posts, it should be fine. I'm just trying to get profs to teach class, so if it makes them feel more inclined to post, I'm all for it.
And tell Sparky/Whites to take a number. I don't do that kind of thing for free.
