There are numerous courses available at Firefox University in the regular curriculum, and these courses will help your character expand and gain house points to win the award at the end of the year. The courses are as follows.
Defense Against the Dark Arts class
A very important class, designed to help students face off against the Dark Side of Magic as well as challenge the evil creatures that dwell around the land. Defense Against the Dark Arts class is located in the Classrooms.
Charms class
The relative 'base' of learning magic, designed to teach students how to properly use their wand and how to use magic to help themselves in their lives. Most students think of Charms as the best class, if they are not adventurous and choose Defense Against the Dark Arts over it. Charms class is located in the Classrooms.
Transfiguration class
A useful magic course for people who want to get that real 'witch/warlock' feel about themselves. Transfiguration is the powerful art of using magic to change people or animals into something else (inanimate or animate). Transfiguration is often considered a very difficult course, for the chances of failure are high and the consequences can be worse. Transfiguration class is located in the Classrooms.
History of Magic class
This class is considered the most important by the Headmaster, mainly due to the class being his own. History of Magic examines the dark and light sides of the past, involving the great escapades of past students and denizens of the Magic World, as well as the trials and tribulations involved in Muggle prejudice. The class is not nearly as boring as it is made out to be. History of Magic class can be found in the Classrooms.
Muggle Studies class[/i]
Muggle Studies is an interesting class for those who just can't get enough of exploring the relatively unknown. Muggle Studies examines the strange life of Muggles, examples include using 'tellyfones', 'tellyvizion sets', and 'raydios'. Taking this class can show you how hard the world would be without magic. Muggle Studies class is located in the Classrooms.
Astronomy class[/i]
Astronomy is a class designed for those who wish to examine the old fashioned view of 'magic'. Examining the stars and seeing how each and every one of those celestial beings differ from our Earth, while knowing each of the Constellations' names and stories. Own telescope preferred, but Ravenwood Tower Observatory already equipped. Astronomy class is located in Ravenwood Tower.
Divination class
Divination class is designed to teach students the most fantastic yet unreliable form of magic - the process of making fate tangible to see. Divination uses most of the standard forms of fate-seeing, including crystal balls, tea leaves, and palmistry. Divination class is located in Ravenwood Tower.
Potions class
Potions class teaches students how to perform the most Scientific and least Magical of the Magic Arts. Potion-making does not require wands or magic spells, it requires simple precision and mastery of memorization. Potions class is located in the Dungeon, where climate is perfect for Potion making.
Herbology class
Herbology class is designed to teach students about the magical plants of the world, and to help them know the 'ingredients' they're using for their potions. Magical plants range from magical forms of familiar flowers to dangerous exotic plants. Herbology class is located in the Greenhouses, where the plants are stored.
Care of Magical Creatures class
Care of Magical Creatures class was once a popular class, though love of it has declined in recent years. Care of Magical Creatures involves viewing some of the most fantastic of creatures, ranging from the ancient Phoenix to the powerful Hippogriff. It allows students to get to know their sentient allies in the Magic World, and create familiars. Care of Magical Creatures class can be found at the bank of the Shining Lake.
Arithmancy Class
Arithmancy is a highly advanced magical class, delving into the secret magics locked within the complex number system. It is said that numbers and magic can predict the future, show an accurate past, and create complex magical curses that take efficient skill to break. This skill is invaluable to Curse Breakers and Ruin Explorers. Arithmancy class is located in the Classrooms.
Ancient Runes Class
Ancient Runes is the closest a Magic School can get to a classical language class, teaching students the hidden secrets of the past through the runic writing of ancient sorcerers. Knowledge of ancient runes is also invaluable for historians, curse breakers, and ruin explorers. Ancient Runes Class is located in the Greenhouses.
