(ooc: Continued from 'A Freak Storm.' in the Shining lake.)
Malachy followed the shimmering silver serpent into the darkness of the lake unsure that of where he was going . but sure he was safe. Would Muryllis release the Kelpie on him? He hoped not.
Malachy suddenly felt gravity shift and the sound of the rain beaten water vanished. He Swam farter down, no up, he couldn't tell anymore. not until his head broke the water and the light of the sun was shining on his face. But the light was scewed as he looked he noticed Bloodwing standing over him.
"Good to see you again" "You too" "My existence would have ended in this world without you. I hope the extra lung capacity helped" It seemed the dragon had helped him survive the swim. "Hopefully we're safe now... where are we anyway?"

The Nymph Wood, the domain of various woodland spirits, had lately been beset by various unsavory intrusions. The Unknown One's violent attack had been repelled with great ease by the Father of the Forest, and the Shade had suffered a humiliating defeat, running off with his tail between his legs. Even an innocent student, ambushed by the Nephilim, had been saved by the Ancient One. It was therefore understandable, even expected, that Quercus Modus was keeping a watchful eye on his sacred realm.
The being had been patrolling his grove - no, patrolling is not the right word; frolicking. Yes, frolicking - when he sensed a new, chaotic presence at the frequently-traveled edge of the Wood. He could sense a spirit in great distress; a lost soul desperately trying to find its way to the Great Beyond. Someone had accompanied him here; someone human, with great anger and ambition in him.
One was in need of his aide, and the other could, through mindless action, incur his unfathomable wrath. His duty was clear; he made his way to the intruders.
At the edge of a lake, the Dryad Lord spotted a young boy, soaked to the core, floating beside the spirit of a great dragon. He could sense the beast had suffered a terrible fate at the hands of great evil; no doubt his spirit had refused to continue its journey onward due to the trauma.
The being stepped out into the light, pulling his great, bearded head from the cover of the trees to stretch to his full height. He towered above the boy, standing perhaps on the level of the dragon; the silvery leaves that made up his bushy mane of a beard glittered in the sunlight. The sinewy, gnarly wood and bark that made up his body looked as powerful as it was; being an oak spirit, he was as grand a being as any to set eyes on.
Quercus wandered over to the duo, the ground beneath him flourishing with floral life at every step. "Thou art finally safe, great one," he called, his booming voice gently rolling across the grass and flowers. The Dryad bowed his head in respect to the dragon spirit before him. "Thy journey, O majestic one, has been long and arduous; thou hast met an untimely end, I feel, and it is a great pity that thy soul hath failed to continue onward."
He reached out a viney arm, placing a hand on Bloodwing's head; his own spiritual nature allowed him to feel every beautiful scale, smiling as he imagined what the great beast was like in life.
"Let thy pain slip away," he murmured, allowing the creature to gently fall to its side as it drifted into sleep. "No being deserves such a wretched existence, least of all a great dragon. Thy path leads onward and stops nowhere; let thy spirit sour on wings of tranquility!"
Bloodwing's body seemed to melt away, drifting on an unfelt wind as it was carried beyond the trees and into the horizon. It mingled with cheerful nymphs and dryads who had come out to see the dragon off on his unending journey. With it went any spiritual connection the beast may have had with Malachy; the boy would no longer feel pain or longing connected to the ghost.
"And thou, meddling boy," Quercus said, turning to face the Slytherin at his feet, "shalt be wise to leave this realm at once. Tarry not; many dark beings have been here, and in my great age, I may easily mistaken thou for one of them. Go on."
Oked to the core but strangely not cold he watched as the tree spirit eased Bloodwing to the after life he felt his bod the great dragon fall apart and the should the dragon vaished without even harming his own no pain, no suffering he watched in total awe. Malachy didn't Speak he Just watched as Bloodwing melted away. In peace.
Malachy heard the tree spirit speaking and hi realized his vision had blurred. e blinked and his vision cleared. as water ran down his face. The Peace and tranquility that not no hiuman could feel without help had washed through him and Malachy had earned a sort of understanding but as the dragon vanished so did the fealing. "Why." Was all Malachy could manage to say.
He looked up at the great spirit of the forest he had just discovered, his mind finally cooecting itself. He didn't know whether to hate the tree or thank it. Yes he wanted the immense power that Bloodwing provided but deep down he wanted Bloodwing free. The tree, what ever it was had made him realize that. Made him realize he valued life over power.
"What is this place, who are you, and why did you do that?" the questions where barely whispers. He had no intention of staying when he wasn't invited but he wanted to know. and how was he going to get back? The dragon had given him the lung capacity. and there was a Kelpie on the other side just waiting for him to drown...

The Dryad Lord watched with soft heart as the entirety of Bloodwing's soul sailed over the horizon. No more would the dragon spirit, traveling through the afterlife, be troubled with finding Malachy. Quercus then kneeled before the Slytherin to address his departure.
"Aah," the great being rumbled, "this is one of those things, that thou are not ready for if thou must askest such questions." With this, Quercus Modus turned to leave.
"Return to thy world, mortal. Perhaps, some day, thou shalt learn from thine esteemed arcanists enough to visit once more. There is great evil about in the mortal plane; focus on thy dealings before considering ours."
He disappeared into the forest, his silent guard training behind.
Malachy listened as his question where only multiplied. But the tree guy was walking away and he had no way to get back. the water was deep, and on his side their was a hungry Kelpie and an untrustworthy shade, Now what?
He was not one to just give up though blood wing gone? He was a Wizard and he didn't need that reptile to breath long enough in the water, and he knew enough about Dark arts to keep a Kelpie away from him long enough to get to the there side. He casted the bubble head charm on himself and swan back to the portal with Sning leading the way. He would return when he was ready.
