Muryllis felt the chilled air sting at his face, an unwelcome change from the pleasant feeling of being inside the toasty castle. Despite the cold, it was a great day to be outside - the trees were still green, the fields were grassy and dotted with flowers. Many lions were here to slay mercilessly - dandelions, he thought to himself, giving off a chuckle. He followed Faye wherever she lead.

She had, unfortnatly, forgotten her scarf back up in her room. How annoying. It was cold outside, and yet she had been dumb enough to leave behind such an essential piece of winter clothing. Probably just her stupid side kicking in. While she preferred, like most people, to think that she didn't have a stupid side, she considered herself smart enough to admit to it. Yes, she was dumb sometimes. And, unlike those stupid perfect people, she actually made mistakes and learned from them.
After a little while, she reached a nice spot by the river and withdrew her blanket. She carefully spread it out- lucky that she had been smart enough to bring one that was big enough for two people who weren't... well, involved. She didn't think that Forgoil would mind... but... what was up with them, anyway? Every time she thought she had something with him, it kind of went away for a while. If she were to wish for anything, it would be that they could always be like they were that night at the Ball.
"Sooooo." She said, withdrawing her sandwich and taking a large bite before sitting down. "I don't suppose you've got any interesting stories to tell, do you? Because I don't just want to sit out here and have that sort of awkward silence that always settles between two people who only just met."
Sitting down next to Faye on the large blanket, Muryllis took a look around him. The river had an attractive air to it, with the water glistening as it ran across stones, carrying the odd leaf to its impending doom at the next waterfall. Smirking as he watched her devour the sandwich, Muryllis began to talk. "I guess a story of my life will do to start. I was born in Rome to a family of wizards, working in the Muggle world as bankers and lawyers. Wanting me to also become a wizard, they had me enrolled in a magic school called Nostri Magi, hidden deep in the vast network of alleyways of the Vatican."
"It was actually not that difficult to find, if you knew what to look for. A door, hidden well with enchantments and expert masonry in the wall of a building, lead you into a small room. This room had another door that brought you to a magically compacted school for witches and wizards. My parents really didn't like that school, being so close to Muggles that nothing loud or dangerous could be practiced for fear of discovery. I spent a few years there until they hear of this school, which they sent me to about a week ago."
"I guess you know the rest from there. I was sorted, fed, and released into the school, only to become the horrific guy who knocks poor girls down in entrance halls," he finished with a wide grin.
Hm. Rome? She'd never even heard of any kind of magic school in Rome, but then again he had said that it was very secret. That was probably why. Plus, he'd probably never even heard of Magic Horizons, so it didn't really matter if she knew about... Nostri Magi? Yes, that was the right name. Finishing off her sandwich, she quietly tucked the plastic bag back inside her purse. She didn't feel like littering, but also wasn't in the mood to try and think up the right spell to make it disappear. Her mind just felt like mush today.
"Hm... sounds interesting. So do you like it better there, or here? Not like you've had much of an impression of the place yet, but just what you've seen so far." She asked, suddenly wondering what house he'd been sorted into. He didn't really look like the type who would be placed into Hufflepuff, but you never knew. He actually reminded her a little bit of Lars, who was another person who she hadn't seen in forever.
"Well..." She said, an innocent look on her face. "I suppose you could say that we crashed into each other, actually. I wasn't paying attention and neither were you, if I remember correctly."
Suppressing a chuckle escapee at the sudden change Faye's face, from strong and determined to a weak, innocent look, Muryllis answered, "I definately will like it more here, though I can probably say that Nostri Magi will have been a proper school for training before the real training. You see, since everything was so tight and small in the Vatican, we had to be very careful and silent in our practices. As such, we learned a lot of spells and abilities that have subtle effects, as well as the ability to cast silently, not having to verbalize the words. I'm glad to know that, with that knowledge, I'll have a great start for what we're going to learn here."
"As for the crash... I suppose you can say that we can just forget about that," he said with a warm smile.

It all did sound rather interesting to her. Though she didn't think she could stand living in such cramped quarters, or not making a lot of noise. While she wasn't all that noisy, she definitly enjoyed being heard. That was probably why she liked Magic Horizons so much; though she had yet to decide if she really liked being here. It wasn't too bad. She'd adapt, just like she had been able to adapt going from the muggle world into the wizarding one. This was just another change that she would eventually have to get used to.
"The brochure that my mom showed me said that it was a 'quality learning establishment'." She said, rolling her eyes a bit. "So I'd like to hope that we're actually going to learn something here." She was also hoping that the graduation system worked the same way- she was due to graduate in just a short year and a half, and was really praying that she wouldn't be kept from that in any way at all.
"Well, after all, it is a magical school of magic; I doubt someone would bother building and running this place just to waste students' time, eh?" said Muryllis, intrigued by Faye's lack of confidence. "Besides, if you feel you aren't learning enough, we can trek up to the library and see what we can find out there."
At this he heard his stomach grumble, grinning. "Now, about that sandwich... "
She always managed to find at least one or two classes that she did consider a complete waste of time. Muggle Studies was one of them- why bother taking it if you already came from a muggle background? She found homework involving things like telephones and computers to be downright stupid, and she knew that she wasn't alone. A few of the other students also were part or all muggle, and they all passed through the class with flying colors. Learning about muggles wasn't the reason why she came to this school- she came to learn about magic. And, while muggle studies was her least favorite class, Defense Against the Dark Arts was her favorite. With the right sort of teacher, it could provide her with hours of amusement as she tried to master the spells. Spells that she knew were necessesary to her becoming an auror, or at least get a job with the Ministry.
"No, I don't think that was Professor Windwaltz's intent." She replied, wondering if this school even had a library. "And sure. I'm not much of a studious person, but I wouldn't mind heading up there every once in a while. As for that sandwich... too late."
Just incase he hadn't been paying attention when she ate it, she withdrew the little plastic baggie and held it up for him to see. Unfortunatly, she hadn't planned for more than herself when she had left the Common Room, and hadn't brought any additional food.
"Anyway, I think this school will be just fine. Either way, there's practically nothing we can do to leave," he said, grinning at Faye. "Now, I say we go over to the Great Hall and get a bite to eat. Then we can go find that library... By the way, what house do you belong to?"
That's true; there really wasn't a way for them to leave. Faye's mom would be rather... annoyed if she just suddenly left. It would be like dropping out of school. Plus, she couldn't afford to go back to Magic Horizons, so why even bother hoping for that. But she was already adjusting to Firefox, so maybe someday she'd never even have thoughts about leaving. She'd already made a new friend, so what more could she ask for?
"Sure, why not." She said, still a little bit hungry even after eating that sandwich. "And I'm in Hufflepuff... how about you?" Hm. She didn't think he was the Slytherin type, nor the kind to be in Hufflepuff like she was. But maybe he was in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor... well, she'd find out soon enough.

Getting up and helping to fold the blanket, Muryllis was quite amazed to find out that Faye was a Hufflepuff. Though he knew it is not right to judge someone just from what they did in the past ten minutes, he honestly thought that she was a Gryffindor, or, at the very least, a Slytherin. But a Hufflepuff? Well, the sorting hat isn't brain dead (ha), so she must be there for a reason.
"Aah, me? I'm a Ravenclaw." He decided to risk voicing his opinion, not really knowing of there was any danger to it. 'I'm quite amazed that you're a Hufflepuff, not a Gryffindor. You seemed like one when we 'bumped', so to speak."
There probably was a reason for Faye being in Hufflepuff. She did carry a few of the qualities imposed on those in that house- loyal and faithful. But she wasn't always caring or kind; since she did have her harsh side. Sometimes she even thought that she might fit better in a place like Gryffindor, just because she was probably brave enough. Ah, she could still remember the days when she fought with Xavier and Kage beside her. Before they turned lycan, and back when Sealla was actually alive. Things were so different back then. Xavier was the only one who had known her ever since she'd come to Magic Horizons, and now she'd actually taken a chance and left all that behind her.
"Hmm." She said, finishing the folding of the blanket on her own and then placing it in her bag. "Well, I do sort of get that a lot. And that doesn't insult me in the least, just so long as you don't think I seem like a Slytherin." Because, if anything... she wasn't intentionally mean, nor was she cunning. She'd met very few people from that house that she'd actually gotten along well with.
Glancing at her with a comic glance, Muryllis said, "Bah, you're too mean and rude to be a Slytherin; the Sorting Hat was afraid of you overthrowing the house and eventually the school, and so it gave you to Hufflepuff to be softened up." As he said this, he tensed up, ready for any bludgeoning Faye would start.
Overthrowing the house? She almost laughed, doubting that such a thing was even possible. Maybe when she had been prefect and could have gotten her own way all the time... but no, not now. If anything, now was a time for her to learn a bit of humility, to step back and allow Roan to do the job that she had once done. But wasn't there a saying that there was a time for everything? Well, her time for that had passed. She was so close to moving on from the school forever that she had just decided not to bother being mad over such trivial things.
"Too mean to be a Slytherin?" She said, slapping him lightly on the shoulder. "I don't even know if such a thing is possible! Do be more realistic. And I don't think I'm capable of overthrowing the house, let alone the school. Though, maybe with a partner in crime..."
He chuckled at her first answer; he openly lauged at the partner in crime bit. This girl's great, he thought.. wait.. what's her name again?? Bah, it would come to him later.
Wrapping his arms around himself to circulate some warmth through his body (he must have gotten some bad robes), he began trudging across the grounds back to the castle, chatting with Faye as he did. "So tell me a bit about yourself? All that I know is that you're a Hufflepuff and you aren't capable enought to overthrow a house," ending with another grin.
