The water of the Lake was warm on the summer nights. It lapped over Roan’s feet as she sat down near the edge of the watery expanse with her feet into it up to her ankles. Those feet were sore these days from the running she’d do through the Woods and on the grounds searching for scents of vampires and information to keep her pack happy. The days of lazing around her lonely home with nothing to do but read were gone now that Fenrir was back and there was a whole pack to think of. Still, she couldn’t help but come to the lake to relax on a summer evening as beautiful as this one.
There were only two sources of light while the lycaness sat there. The moon cast a shimmering glow below, but it was not full enough to illuminate sight for those who were not blessed with a lycan’s keen abilities. The other light came from the star sapphire cradled in the palms of the woman. Her hair was curtained around her face as she inspected the gem as she did many times since she had gotten it. Never did it leave her person as she wished to always keep the heart of Muryllis near her.
She had seen him but once since the passing of this stone, and now she found herself aching fiercly for him again. It was too hard to be so separate from the one she loved even if she carried a piece of him with her at all times. They had come so far and it was such a shame they spent no time together. Roan could use some relaxation time from a growing stressful life with the one she cared about, but he never seemed to come to her.
It was leading her to believe maybe he didn’t want her anymore.
Roan turned the stone over in her hand, hardly noticing it’s pale blue glow on her fair skin. Her clothes were muggle as usual and made soft for relaxation with her long brown hair neatly combed down her back as usual. I miss you… She thought idly, taking a deep breath and looking up at the stars. It had been while regarding the stars before that he had come back to her, that they had kissed…and then fought again. And now she found herself staring at those same stars again, hoping for some of the same things.
Hoping he would come back to her.971
