"I am going to murder you Aiden!" A voice called down the streets on a rainy day in Drakborough. One student was running down the ways, her feet clattering on the stones and her robes and cloak flying behind her as she ran. It was total downpour, sheets of rain. Roan had to keep rubbing the water out of her eyes to make it go away, and she couldnt see two feet in front of her. But that didnt stop her pursuit of the one thing she was seeking. Her dragon, Aiden. A coppery being about the size of a small cat had gotten loose of her this day in the town when she came down to shop. He was a menance, and though she loved him dearly, she was getting rather sick of him running off like this. He was too fond of his tricks, and his mother didnt like it.
"Aiden! Aiden get back here! Its wet, Im cold, and Im NOT in the mood for this!" She stopped and screamed over the rain and wind. But ahead of her she saw a glint of copper flying in front of her, and Roan grimaced and continued running after her pet. If anyone found it, she was going to be in huge trouble. Almost everyone was off the streets today because of the rain, it was pretty much deserted, so she was lucky for that. If anyone caught Aiden, they would see that a being of his nature should never even live in this world. She would get arrested for alchemy that was illegal, she had created life. He would be taken away and possibly destroyed. She loved the little monster, heart and soul. He was her pet, and she had poured almost all her emotions into it. She didnt want him taken away.
The girl stopped for a moment to catch her breath. The rain had turned her brown hair a darker brown, and it fell down her neck in a ponytail. Her cloak was soaked through, as were her robes she used for combat. They were usually comftorable and she wore them everywhere now. Even her boots were just drenched. Her hazel eyes scanned the area, and she searched for a sigh of her dragon. Her arms were throbbing at the moment from the pain this little being had caused her. It loved to spit flame on her arms, and scratch and bite, causing her to wear bright white bandages to hide the skin beneath it, not daring to go to the Hospital Wing and have it patched up. Would it be so bad if she never got him back? If she just let him escape today in the village? One word came to mind. Yes. She loved him, and she didnt want harm to befal him. But Roan would have to find some way to figure out how to hide him from sight, and keep him on a tight lease if he was going to keep on doing this.
"Aiden please! I wont hurt you, I wont be angry if you dont come back! But its getting late, I cant stay away from the school much longer. Even as a Prefect they will wonder where I have gone. Please come back Aiden!" She pleaded with him, seeing the dragon sitting on a windowsill on a store in front of her. Her hazel eyes caught a small pink tongue dart out of his mouth as Aiden spread his copper wings and took flight again. It was born into his blood to love the rain and storm, and revel in its power. He wanted to stay out here as long as he could, even if his mother wanted him down. Roan's face went red with fury. "Fine! When I catch you, Im marching you straight to Headmaster Windwaltz's office, and lets see what Mr. Sparkypants can do to you! Lets see how much he likes copper dragons! How do you like that Aiden?" She called over the wind again, taking off at a run after the dragon. He just let back a faint squeak that was his chuckle, and rounded the corner into an alley.
This was not where Roan wanted to be caught at night, in the rain, and flustered from running after her pet. The alley cut off into a stone wall that separated one row of shops from another. Aiden perched on that wall, watching as Roan came to a halt out of breath, glaring at him. "Get down here!" He shook his head, smiled, and took flight over the wall where Roan couldnt follow. She growled and cursed him as best she knew before walking over to the wall and feeling with her hands the cold stone, seeing if she could find a way over. "Im going to murder you Aiden..."
