Their room was lit by a single burning candle and the natural moonlight as it filtered in through the curtains on the window. His footsteps echoed on the wooden floor, through the room, as he walked toward the bed where he gently laid her down where she made a petite imprint on the sheets. Emerald eyes passed over the girls figure as she assumedly slept, wrapped up in his dragonscale cloak. She had been tired from training and Phugsius believed she needed rest after such a daunting experience.
He had gotten strange looks from many of the townspeople who had seen him. It wouldn't have been any surprise to Phugsius. After all, he was carrying a passed out girl in his arms. He had no doubts that the men and womens thoughts shifted to something more sinister and that he was an evil person, with equally evil intentions, especially when he had entered the Inn, still carrying her.
It was a quiet place. The Innkeeper at the moment looked bored out of his mind and half asleep as he worked the late shift. Seeing the two definately gave him something to think about, whether it was appropriate or not he didn't care to know, all he did know was that he held more respect for Niobe than to take advantage of her like that, especially in a place like this.
The man looked rather sloppy now that Phugsius thought back on it. It was rather apparent why he worked the late shift, he wasn't the most personable host to meet, not to mention how uneasy he was on the eyes. He'd have to keep a look out for that man later tonight and make sure he did not lurk around where he shouldn't.
The man had given them the key to room 211. Of course up the stairs. He had carried Niobe this far though it couldn't hurt to carry her any more, though he was tired. It seemed this Inn had another occupant, as he passed by the door to 210. Phugsius wasn't exactly interested in who it might have been. Who knew what kind of wierdos came to a place like this.
Quietly rubbing his tired forearms he stared out the window and watched clouds envelope the shining moon. Crystal-like raindrops pelted the window and left a nice red color as the candle light reflected off of them. He looked over to Niobe wondering if she had even actually fallen asleep.
