After the impromptu meeting that Sparky had called, Ashelle realized she had to do something about their relationship - or lack their of. Not that she wanted him to fall for her or anything, she was already having enough trouble with breaking up with Navara and Malachy's disappearance. He seemed like a decent kid and she was curious what kind of friend he would make. Above all this he knew her secrets (or she supposed he did). The last thing she needed was someone outside of the family knowing about stuff like that.
Thus she had taken a day off from studying and rode Artemis Fowl I down to Chang's Pet Shop. Ashelle made a oddly amused face at the red lettering that Sylph still hadn't been able to remove. Then she ground tied Artemis -telling him to stay simply by dropping the ropes she had use to help steer him on the ground- if anyone that could see the Threstral tried to steal him, they likely would be in for the fight of their life anyway.
Upon entering the shop Ashelle found it to be just as impressive as usual despite Slyph and Professor Halifirien's recent troubles. It occurred to Ashelle briefly that Slyph was good at covering stuff like that up -who she loved- either that or Ashelle simply never payed attention to it. To all the animals confusion and disappointment the new pet seeker, passed all of their cages and went to look exclusively at the mice.
They had chameleon mice -but ashelle feared Sparky might lose those. The next cage was labeled 'Transfiguring Mice' The mice in this cage were happily turning into small items and back again - keys, cups and pocket mirrors seemed to sit in the cage till the mice popped back to their original forms. Ashelle shook her head, she could only imagine Sparky accidentally drowning the cup one late ant night by trying to drink from him.
Ashelle turned to the next cage and a smile instantly formed on her pretty lips. The sign read;
"You'll be perfect! Oh, Sparky will adore you!" She told the mice softly. They looked at her curiously, almost as if they knew she liked them and wondered which one of them she would choose. The mice were all a reddish hue, indicating they were indeed pretty powerful magical creatures. Ashelle smiled at them once more and went over to Sylph's desk and rang the desk bell twice, hoping Sylph was not too busy with the more interesting creatures Ashelle suspected lived out back behind the store.
