During her time as a professor and later, the headmistress of Firefox University, Fiona had seen her fair share of dramatic returns to town. Most were dramatic in the sense that the person arriving had changed so dramatically that they were barely recognizable, whether it was due to extreme poverty or the unfortunate bite of a werewolf. And so, when Fiona departed from Firefox nearly six months ago, she already knew how she wanted to make her grand return.
The stars were bright on the night the witch rode along the path to Drakborough, the hooves of the white horse that she had brought from the stables pounding furiously into the dirt. The lanterns by the side of the road cast only a little light onto her figure, which was mostly obscured by the black cloak and hood which she had raised over her face, allowing only a few brown locks of hair to spill out. Soon she was in the streets of the city, curving through alleys and behind shops until she reached the main street, which was mostly deserted due to the late hour of her arrival. It was no matter; there did not need to be a large crowd to welcome her home.
Once she was outside the Joker's Bar, she brought her horse to a stop and swung off, her black cloak sweeping dramatically behind her. Raising her wand into the sky, she shot of a series of multi colored sparks (meant to resemble fireworks- though hers was a fairly bad reproduction) and then lit her wand with a tiny white spark to illuminate the area around her. The street was deserted for now, though she was sure that the noise and the light that she had created would bring no shortage of people running to see what the commotion was about.
Lowering her hood, the ex-professor, ex-headmistress smiled. There was nothing better than coming home again.
