Sun was barely creeping through the shuttered windows of Roan’s home when she crept downstairs. It hadn’t been many hours since she had gotten back from Joker’s with Anil. She had been counting on the drink to keep him down long enough so she could get some sleep. The house had been somewhat of a mess when she got back so the lycaness had tidied up and put the wizard on her couch with a blanket. All the windows were closed, shuttered, and shaded so that there wasn’t much light that would bother his head if he woke up with a hangover.
Glancing at her charge and making sure he was still asleep Roan went to her kitchen and began to brew a herbal tea. He’d probably want it upon waking, by her sense of smell he had drank quite a lot. Brown hair hung loosely and she had wrapped a robe around her muggle pjs. His wand was still in her pocket, she didn’t want him blowing up her house when she wasn’t looking.
Song was perched on a table near Anil’s head, watching over the man curiously. She remembered him, this was the man who had come to her mother’s aid several times. Now Roan was doing her duty to him. It was just a matter of waiting for him to wake up and hoping he wouldn’t be in his usual grizzly bear mood.
Experienced hands spooned herbs into the pot and started the fire to heat it up. There was weariness in her eyes as she leaned against the counter, savoring the silence of her home. Plants needed to be watered and the place could use some cleaning, but it was good to be back. As long as the Shade stayed away she would be able to keep it and go back to her solitary life away from the pack.
