ooc: I've decided to 'redo' Selena's character. It's the same as she's always been, but I decided to get rid of a lot of plot points she was going to have, and change them. Also, her elementalist powers have been taken away, as they have no basis for existing anymore.
bic: A distinct 'pop' was heard in the middle of the street, and a woman appeared out of thin air. The clock in Drakborough declared the time was half past noon. Many other 'pop's filled the air as several other wizards and witches arrived in front of shops and taverns, heading either to or away from their lunch breaks. The woman's icy blue eyes glanced from witch to wizard as they hurried to their work or play.
It had been a long time since she'd been here.
Mayor Mustang had been quite inactive for some time, she'd heard. Father Bismarck remained vigilant as always, making sure the renegade Count Scorpius, who stained the good name of wizard, remained locked away in the prison of his own creation: Diadem Fortress. But the other supposed 'authorities' of this little part of Spain didn't seem to be doing their job.
Reports of vampire kidnappings were prevalent. Those disgusting wolves were still breeding, still biting, still causing trouble. There was even a report a while back of a female wolf - Roan Aliagh - performing arson in Drakborough! Yet there was not a single call for action. Nobody even seemed to seek out justice. Apparently, in Spain, the law was forgive and forget.
Well, to Selena, that wasn't law. That wasn't justice. It was not Bismarck's law. And when the government had no say over what went on, and when organizations were not allowed to operate within certain areas, it came down to the one thing that everybody could understand. The one bait that would make everyone see justice. Gold. The law of the wastes.
In the crook of the witch's right arm, bundled in her white cleric's robes, was a stack of posters. Selena held her wand in her left hand, and she flicked it, sending the posters flying to paste themselves onto the walls. Half of them had pictures on them, others didn't. The ones that did had, in huge letters, 'HAVE YOU SEEN ME?' The ones that didn't had, in larger letters, 'WANTED!'
Ellesa Pierce, Mildred Bagley-Aldaine...these were just the most recent kidnappings. Kingsley Azzurro, a prominent wizard, wanted his little girl Victoria back. He'd already lost one daughter, and it was hard for him and his wife to accept that they had lost both. Was ignoring this justice? And what of Zavier Lucre, who had lost his only son Thomas? And the kidnapping had occurred so soon after he'd found out that Thomas had finally begun to flourish at school, a Prefect of his house! Mildred's father, Richard, was still paying off the medical bills for his little girl's surgery after a horrifying prank gone wrong during her time at school. Now it seemed another 'prank gone wrong' had taken her away from him forever.
Was ignoring this justice? Should those parents, bereft of their children, just forgive and forget?
Something had taken those children away, and whatever it was wasn't human. There were reports of students in the area who had survived the encounter with the monster, the monster which so rarely revealed its true nature to them. Many were enthralled by it. Some even considered it a 'friend.' So deeply entranced by its horrifying spell, how could they know it was truly a monster to be done away with?
Then there were reports of a giant, white wolf in the tunnel. It terrorized the guards, and destroyed property. Some said they had seen it attack a wizard, and shortly after assume the form of a human boy. Lycans still ran around Spain like they were innocent, like they didn't have to answer for their actions. Selena would make them answer, with their blood if it was necessary.
And so the signs read thus:
HAVE YOU SEEN ME?
Ellesa Pierce - If you have any information on her whereabouts, send word to the Black Forest Church. Reward: 70 Galleons
Mildred Bagley-Aldaine - If you have any information on her whereabouts, send word to the Black Forest Church. Reward: 100 Galleons
Victoria Raine Azzurro - If you have any information on her whereabouts, send word to the Black Forest Church. Reward: 100 Galleons
Thomas Lucre - If you have any information on his whereabouts, send word to the Black Forest Church. Reward: 70 Galleons
WANTED
Roan Aliagh - Wanted for Murder, Arson, Assault and Battery and Torture. An Unregistered Lycanthrope, be cautious in dealing with her. Said to be extremely volatile and highly dangerous.
DEAD OR ALIVE
Reward: 500 Galleons
Any Vampires in the Region - Wanted for Kidnapping, Murder, Torture, and Assault and Battery. Vampires are an anathema to nature, and a perversion of humanity, do not hesitate to destroy them. To kill a vampire is to save the human they once were. No amount of damage can kill them short of complete destruction of the brain or heart. Piercing the heart or removing the head is the only certain way of destroying them. Extremely vulnerable to fire. Return the dust of a vampire to a Black Forest Church member for reward. THE DUST CAN BE TESTED THROUGH MAGIC, ANY ONE CAUGHT SENDING FALSE REMAINS WILL BE FINED 50 GALLEONS.
Reward: 200 Galleons a Vampire.
The White Wolf - A local unregistered Lycanthrope and terrorist, exercise extreme caution when dealing with it. Said to be capable of growing and shrinking in size as well as changing its form. Any information given on the White Wolf is highly appreciated by the Black Forest Church, and is worth a reward of 5 Galleons. Capture of the White Wolf will result in a 50 Galleon reward. The White Wolf is, as of yet, not wanted dead.
At the bottom of each was written: 'AS ALWAYS THE BLACK FOREST CHURCH REQUIRES ANY INFORMATION ON UNREGISTERED 'BEINGS' IN THE REGION. CAPTURE AND DELIVERY OF THESE FUGITIVES WILL ALWAYS BE REWARDED WITH 50 GALLEONS.'
Having done her work, Selena decided to take a seat on a bench in the Town Square. Her eyes glanced around from poster to poster, waiting to see if anybody would take the bait. She crossed her legs beneath her robes.
