One foot in front of the other. That's all Sparky could tell himself. It'd been a while since he'd been down in town, and there was a good reason for that. At least in his mind. The longer he avoided seeing Orca after ruining his life was better, right? Until about ten minutes ago, that much had been true in Sparky's mind.
Ten Minutes Ago:
Sparky winced as he bit the shit out of his lip.
"Ouch."
He looked down at the piece of bacon, his fifth of the day, and decided that if he was hurting himself eating, then he probably needed to stop. He placed his delicious meat candy down, along with his fork, on his plate and sighed. He hadn't had much luck with anything lately. That drunken event with Orca, biting his lip, hell, he hadn't even seen Teagan II around. Was it something he said? Did he smell bad?
Sparky sniffed at his shoulder, but found no particular odor besides a maple-y meat smell that lingered on his clothes. Not bad, right? He pushed himself away from the plate and decided that he needed to get out.
He was feeling, restless, uneasy. Growing more and more anxious every day, he needed to put an end to it.
Stuttery even in his walk, nervous even in his pace, clumbsy even in his swagger, he began the long walk down to their sister town.
Present Times or Something Like That:
Sparky nervously twisted his hand within his other as he looked around the town. Now that he was here, his resolve had more or less dissolved, but hell. As long as he was here, he had an errand to run. He walked, awkwardly holding his arms to his sides because he didn't know what to do with them (and it looked stupid to be wringing them over and over, didn't it?).
He slowly walked down the simple, quiet town, looking at the cobblestones as he did.
So what would he do if he did run into Orca? Well, he didn't really know. He hoped he wouldn't find out, but knowing his luck and knowing Orca, he was probably in town somewhere near.
Was this the best way to go about business? No way. But it was probably the only way Sparky would get it done.
He couldn't just sit around waiting for himself to unruin his almost best-friend's life.
He needed to apologize, and luckily, that was something he was good at.
