{OOC: First post to Anil please }
Every second Roan ran she wanted to give up and lay down. Houses and stores passed her in Drakborough but the residents were asleep as normal people were at night. She didn’t even think of where she was going. All that mattered was she got as far away from those that mattered as her body would take her for the night. There was no way she could have stayed in that Wing or that school where there were people she cared about. Even being in Drakborough was dangerous because if she lost control again these people would be in danger. Perhaps it would be better to simply get out of Spain altogether.
Her breath was labored and steps were uneven as she finally turned down a street and saw where her feet had been leading her. Her old home was just a smoking pile of wreckage just like the Tower was. The charred stench of it reached her nose as Roan slowly approached the one place she had to call home anymore. Had she had a single tear left in her body it would have fallen but all she could do was look in desolation at the destruction she had caused. All of her clothes and books were no more than ash and the garden she had planted in the backyard was destroyed. Not a single item had survived her onslaught and Roan wondered if Phugsius’ body was still buried in there.
Legs gave out as Roan sank to the ground. She stared blankly at the ruins and tried to make her exhausted mind decide what to do next. The sun would be up soon and there was no way she could wander Drakborough covered in grime and blood and half sentient. At the same time though she knew she couldn’t get a substantial distance away from the town before morning. It had taken so much of her energy to get Talon to the Hospital Wing after all that had happened and it was a wonder she had made it down into the town as it was. Fenrir’s Wood was not far away at all but Roan refused to go there for fear of waking up aflame as she had been. There was no way the trees or the lycans would survive if she went in there and lost it again.
Her eyes were fluttering shut when a she felt something cold wrap around her shoulders. Roan sighed and brought her hand up to stroke Song’s stone hide as the dragon nuzzled against her cheek. “I’m sorry.” The woman croaked out. Memories of threatening to kill Song because she had gotten Anil involved and helped him came back and she flinched and drove them away. They sat there for a minute letting go of the house Roan would never again have before Song wrapped her claws around Roan’s wrist and began to tug. Half awake the lycaness looked at her and tried to shrug the dragon away. “No Song, I’m not going anywhere.”
Perhaps she should just stay there and let the villagers handle her. Maybe they’d arrest her (if they even had anyone to do that). Perhaps she should find a way to end this all before anyone got their hands on her. Once those at the school knew what she had done wouldn’t they want her to face justice?
Song wasn’t giving up so easily and dug her claws into Roan’s skin making the woman yelp. As tired as she was Roan was no match for the stone dragon and she dragged herself to her feet again and shakily started following her through the streets of town again. Whatever was on Song’s mind she had no idea but the elementalist was practically a zombie and so didn’t try and figure it out. That was until the dragon stopped at the door of a building and started tapping on it with one stone claw. Roan stared at her puzzled until she saw it was an office of sorts. Song was chattering away and pointing like she knew what she was looking for and Roan began to turn the door handle when a scent tickled her nose. It took several breaths to job her mind into figuring out what it was and once she did she let go of the handle like it was on fire.
Anil. His scent was all over.
“Are you crazy?” Roan hissed at Song who looked rather pleased with herself. She had tried to kill Anil like she had all the other people. If that hadn’t done the job to make him want nothing to do with her then the times the dragons had pulled him to her in the past sure would. And that’s just what Song had done again. The woman turned and began to walk away only to have Song dart in her face chattering angrily as she tended to do when flustered. “He’ll want nothing to do with me Song, now move.” There was no bite in her glare though. There was nothing threatening about Roan anymore, even to her own companion. Her muscles were shaking and the sun coming up over the rooftops was starting to blur the edges of her vision. Whereas Song really didn’t fatigue and was very determined to make sure her mother didn’t give up.
The dragon flew to her shoulder and wrapped her claws in Roan’s brown hair causing the girl to yell once in pain as she got dragged back to the door. When Song let go she leaned against the building’s wall and tried to take deep breaths to calm down. Anil would not be happy to see her there if he found her and she could tell from the strong scent that this place was associated with him. Song probably followed him back there after the Tower wreckage. And Roan figured she wasn’t going to be allowed to leave until she found out just how displeased Anil would be with her. Maybe if she got lucky he’d kill her on sight and save her more guilt.
