Green eyes swept around the shop one last time. It had taken a lot of work, there was no denying that. After Aiden had dropped the blonde shop owner back in Drakborough during the war, her mind had strayed back over to the battle ground. Sure, she had wanted to go back, but could she? What use would she be? Torn in two, Hayzie had decided to do the next best thing. Distract herself by rebuilding the shop and getting some products ready to sell again.

A month later, Hayz was in the position to reopen. A huge weight seemed to have been lifted from her while she had been working away... almost a feeling as though she was more her old self again. Maybe something had happened to Unknown or Giada that she hadn't heard about. Not that she would want to hear about it... but then, how would she feel? Would she feel guilty? As though she could have done something to stop it? Would she have felt sad? Or would she be happy? The answer to this would very likely never be known, especially not in the coming weeks.
After all, Hayzie had a store to reopen.
Taking a few steps forward to the brightly coloured door with its clear glass window, the blonde girl checked the window display once again. Having worked on her trademark fireworks a little more, Hayz had been able to get them to contain themselves into a smaller area, almost mini-fireworks, so she could use them in the window. She had also managed to get them to work over and over again. At least for now. Time would tell how long they lasted.
Little spiders ran around inside a plastic box, and various brightly packaged sweets and treats scattered the window sill, hopefully attracting the eye of passers by. New products in that line included flying saucers that lifted the consumer off the ground for a few minutes, lollipops that made your tongue change colour every two minutes for twenty four hours, Gobbldy-Gook gum, as well as the old classics, including mouth numbing gobstoppers, fire gum and toffee-glue sweets.
Basically, many people previous to the war, had stopped accepting seemingly innocent looking sweets off people, and instead bought their own from the nearby sweet shop. At least Hayzie had been a good samaritin in that way.
Smiling to herself as she looked in the other window, checking everything was in place, she drifted off into daydream land again. It was incredible how far she had come since arriving back in Drakborough. Back then, it hadn't seemed likely the girl would be able to get back on her feet. She had been a broken wreck. But after getting by, day by day, doing the work she loved, and re-writing her book (Roberts' Guide to Pranking - Only 1 Galleon from Roberts' House of Jokes!), Hayzie had been able to bring her focus away from her time in Diadem, and carry on, growing stronger and stronger and proving to everyone that Hayzie Roberts was not yet a broken girl. Rather, she was a true Gryffindor through and through.
Unless anyone brought up her "vacation", but she would deal with that as and when.
Facing the door once again, the smile seemed to grow and light up her face, her green eyes glowed with excitement, and finally she reached out her hand and turned the 'closed' sign over to 'Open'.
Roberts' House of Jokes was back in business.
