It had been almost two weeks since a kid randomly appeared in Raven's (Now Fuu and Tobias') coffee shop. Novus, said kid, had intended to get to Firefox as soon as he could, knowing that he had to get there. But, something inexplainable, had kept him from leaving Triangle Tunnel...
That something being money.
Novus had no money, and the more he worked, the more money he needed. He had started working a week ago, after getting caught stealing some fruit from a vendor. He worked for a day with the vendor, paying off his debt. The next day, he got a job serving at a local bar. He got tired of being hit on by drunken spaniards and quit after two days. Then, he found a small diner and started bussing tables.
He had earned a total of 4 sickles from his work there, and still didnt have enough to get to FFU.
The diner, The Serpent's End, was rather small and served mostly tourists and those down on their luck. People who had little money to spare for food. He made almost no tips, and was only paid enough to buy his own dinner. The owner, a mysterious female who he had only seen once, and that was in a shadowed room, agreed to let him stay in the storage closet. The floor was dirt, rough, and sometimes crawling with bugs. He had to sleep on his velvet robe (which had seen better days) to stay comfortable.
It was a sunday, and that happened to be the busiest day of the week at the diner. He was constantly moving between tables, cleaning. As he passed the small door, he saw a young woman walk inside, and he fell over. The dishes he was carrying fell to the ground and shattered, followed by a few screams and a baby crying. This wasnt his day...
