For months, Azrael had been lurking around in the Tunnel, the ruins of his former empire. This building where he now sat had once been his headquarters. It had been out of the window not three feet away from him that he had witnessed the first of the fires springing up as his minions ran rampant. Here he had been attacked by his own inferi guards. Here he had refused the help of the strange wizard who fled, tail between his legs, when Azrael refused his offer and lashed out at him. Here he was again, weighing his options andreflecting upon his current position in life.
That position was not a very good one, despite all he had done over the years to repeatedly aid and save the people of Magic Horizons and Firefox. He had saved them from Danawi. He had saved them from the tyranny of Claire. He had saved them from the Society of Shadows. He had saved them from Fenrir. He had saved them from the Shadows again at the same time he liberated them from the tyrannical ministry. What was the result? He was portrayed as a villain, all glory from his actions was given to the Headmaster. What had Talon done in the meantime? He went off and hired people like Syrus, one of the Shadow lords who had thought it was a good idea to kill children and burn down cities, as a professor in his school. Talon had turned his back to him. Talon had refused to support Azrael, despite years of being saved by him time and again.
The one time Azrael asked for something more from Talon than basic verbal support in return for saving him and his school, he had been refused. The simple request of being made a professor had been denied in as insulting a manner as Talon could think of. Such was Azrael's reward for years of service to the school and country: no job, his empire in ruins and only a gay, retarded furry kid willing to serve him. It was humiliating. Azrael deserved better, yet he clearly couldn't expect to be given what he deserved. He would have to take what he deserved from society, as he had been doing for years. The days of thanklessly aiding Talon could no longer continue. Lord Azrael would not be betrayed again.
With a violent gesture of his wand, he summoned forth his patronus. “Find Orca. Bring him here, his master calls for him.”
