A new school. A new library. It couldnt be that different, right? Well that was what Roan thought as she made her way from the Common Room to the library of Firefox. She was a big fan of books, and wanted to see what the selection here was. Was their Headmaster good with keeping the library updated? Her black school robes swept on the ground, and she moved soundlessly through the halls. The 'Puff had asked directions there the night before so she wouldnt get lost, and noted each turn she took through the winding hallways. Hazel eyes were focused forward, and she would lightly touch the walls when she turned. Her brown hair that was normally straight was curled today and hung down her back. She walked with an ease she hadnt walked with in a while, moving to a new school had been doing her some good afterall.
Finally she found herself standing in front of a large door, the door to the library. A gateway to the realm of knowledge, where you could learn anything you wished, through tomes, some hundreds of years old. She stretched out a small and shaky hand and turned the handle, taking a deep breath. It was painfully slow, but finally she pushed the door open and peeked inside, a few locks of brown hair falling in her face. Back at her old school, the library had been like her Common Room. She spent most of her time there pouring over books. When the war was going on, it was all research on spells, strategy, maps, how to kill certain creatures. When it was times of peace, she usually researched things around the world, like creatures and other beings, or fiction stories. She was hoping this place wouldnt be a dissapointment, though nothing could probably compare to her old library.
But her eyes widened when she saw the inside and the 'Puff quickly walked in and left the door open. It was wonderful, and wasnt the puny thing she thought it would be. Of course several isles looked dusty, many books seemed like they had been untouched for years. Light filtered into the room from a few windows, and wasnt completley dark. There were tables off to the side where people could sit and read and do research. Roan took a few small steps inside, looking around with her hazel eyes, a small smile forming on her face. It was time to familiarize herself with the new library, so she knew it like the back of her hand like she had known the old one. This place looked old, but the older the library, sometimes the better so that you could read some really old things.
She made her way furthur into the library to find something interesting to read. As she proceded through the books seemed to get older. Finally she chose and aisle and walked down it slowly, looking to and fro at the different titles around her. Some of them were Dark Magic books, which surprised her. Maybe she should look up the history of this place, for their old school hadnt had books like that. Finally they rested an old book, very large, which was the history of the place they called a school. Perfect, just what she was looking for. When the 'Puff pulled it from the shelf, the dust made her sneeze, and it echoed through the narrow isles of the library. People must not be back here often. Her hand gently touched the spine of the book she held in her hand, it was leatherbound and obviously old. A good read for a new student to Firefox.
She blew the dust off it and walked out of the isle, opening the cover and going to the first couple pages, her hazel eyes scanning over the words. This was an interesting find for someone just looking for a book to read.
