OOC: continuing the thread at the greenhouses...
Yamaroshi followed the prefect to the library, already starting to doubt how reliable this boy would be. However, the boy did lead him to the library, which was good enough start. Even if he couldn't grant Yamaroshi access to the restricted section, it was fine.
Now all Yamaroshi needed to do was help this boy with...whatever he needed help with. Whatever it was, it clearly involved a muggle toaster.
"So, what do you want me to do?"

So Talon had been busy lately. Who wouldn't be? Getting the school back together, taming rogue Lycans, doing immense amounts of paperwork...and then there was that whole 'Dueling Tournament' idea of his. Why the hell did he write down in his notebook? A spark of thought that traced back to training the students for the Shadow War, a plan that was scrapped following his departure...and Halifirien found it.
And he was so dead set on it. He even abducted some official papers from Talon and posted notes about the tournament all over the school. Well, Talon sighed, he supposed it couldn't be helped. It just meant more work. And the Headmaster was already swamped. And amongst it all, he had been hoping to train his powers, too. How long had it been since he actively worked on increasing his elemental prowess? About a year and a half, he presumed.
But the irony of it all was that Headmaster Windwaltz was neither on the Dueling Field training his power, studying the ancient arts of his forebearers, or doing his massive mountains of paperwork. He was kicking back in the Library trying to get into one of those books that the women in those days loved - 'witch pitches', so to speak. This one was a romance comedy novel called 'Ten Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Veela'. So far, he hadn't found it very funny at all.
...then again, when you were Talon Windwaltz, was anything funny anymore?
Talon looked up from the book to glance over at Yamaroshi and Sparky stepping into the library, "Hmm..." he thought for a while, wondering why his former apprentice was here. Not thinking that he might have a problem with him, the Headmaster returned to his book begrudgingly.

"Well, first of all, the section you're looking for is over that way." Sparky nodded, pointing. "I doubt anyone will stop you from looking through." Oblivious to Talon's presence, he continued speaking to the guy who had basically appeared out of nowhere and asked him to take him to the library. Not exactly safe; but meh. This was a desperate situation.
"Now, I'm going to climb to the top of the book shelf and tie this cord around my neck." He said, perfectly normally, as he gestured to the plug end of the toaster's cord. "Then, I want you to hold onto the Toaster as tight as you can while I drop off the other side. You absolutely can not let go." With this, Sparky smiled and started looking for an easy way to climb up the bookshelf, humming.
[ooc: edit: Wow, this was pretty short. I'm sorry >.< I have a headache?]

Yamaroshi raised an eyebrow. Based on this kid's actions before, and the obvious dangers involved in this 'favour', Yamaroshi concluded that this boy was simply stupid, and oblivious to the fact that he would probably get himself killed. With a grin of discomfort, Yamaroshi glanced around the room, hoping to find somebody else to tell this boy that what he was doing was stupid.
It was then he noticed Talon reading a book. "Hold on," he said to the strange prefect. He made his way toward Talon, with an uncomfortable feeling in his chest. His thoughts regarding Talon in the past few weeks had not exactly been pleasant. Nonetheless, there was something he was after, which would benefit himself, and the school, since he didn't see himself going back home any time soon. As a bonus, he might even find a way out of doing the prefect this 'favour'.
"Uh...'scuse me, Talon," he said facing Talon on the left side.

"Alex, you know our love is just like vines covering an Earth Golem that will always regrow in the next post if they are cut!"
Where did that analogy come from? Talon thought to himself as he continued to read the silly romance novel. It seemed to be getting more and more unbearable to continue - not that the Lightning Elementalist wasn't a sentimental man or anything, it was just the constant out-of-nowhere parables and tasteless sap was beginning to make him wonder of the writing talent of its author.
Not that Talon could do any better.
The Headmaster hadn't really thought much of the two, thinking they had just entered for some meeting purpose or other...Yamaroshi wasn't a student though. Well it was hardly his business. He trusted the man, and knew that anything he was in probably wasn't anything to get suspicious over. However, apparently he was about to get wrapped up in it as the very Earth mage approached him and tried to get his attention.
Sapphire eyes slowly turned away from the pages they were reading to look at the speaker. "Is there something I can help you with, Yama?"

Yama...
Talon was the only one who ever addressed Yamaroshi by his old nickname. The boy thought he had grown out of it, but it reminded him that he didn't hate Talon.
"Well, I've been trying to study fire magic in the last few months, but all I have are little notes I made myself, and I haven't gotten very far. I was hoping you knew of some book I could study from."
Yamaroshi's feeling of discomfort increased. He didn't want his obsession with elementalism to come to a halt, and he felt somewhat pessimistic about things, though he didn't know why.

"Oh!" Talon said, a smile appearing on his face as he pulled his wand out of his robe and pointed the tip at the page of his book. He muttered a little spell that caused the paper it was pointed on to light up, and when he removed his feet from the table and placed the closed ridiculous book in its stead, a pale glow remained shining where he had chanted the spell. "Bookmarks," Talon noted, nudging his head towards the book, "Though I'm not sure if I want to keep reading that anyhow."
He got up from his seat and began to pace around before turning to look at Yamaroshi, "So Fire Magic huh? I'm pleased to note you are so comfortable in your elemental art that you are willing to take the next step and become an Elemental Guru. We might even need to ask you to stick around the school even longer then, just in case." The smile on his face was friendly, he was very proud that his apprentice was still working at his strength - unlike the Headmaster, who had backed off on the whole art for some time.
"Yes, actually, there happens to be a book on elementalism, and just on your topic too, right here in this Library. It's what helped me get my fire back, after I lost it during the whole Shadow thing." He pointed towards the back of the library, where a menacing looking chain serpent was guarding a large silver gate. "But it's in the restricted section, so you'll need me to come along and such to get that snake off its -"
It was at this point that he noticed Sparky gleefully wrapping his toaster cord around his neck, trying to grab hold of the bookshelves that surrounded the silver gate. "Oh my goodness! What in heaven's name are you doing, Mr. Cobalt!?"

Sparky jumped, though his smile didn't fade. He was a bit nervous at being called out [especially by the name 'Mr. Cobalt'... sounded like a cat's name]...[come to think of it Sparky was a dog's name], but he was sure everything would be fine. He'd be hanging by his neck in no time! Hooray!
He turned, calmly holding his toaster. "I'm... doing..." He thought quickly; not for a lie, but of a way of making the truth sound a bit more appealing than 'I'm going to hang myself <3'. "I'm testing my toaster's cord strength, sir." He nodded seriously before turning back to the bookshelf. Perhaps there was a way to hook the toaster onto something, and therefore eliminate the need to have someone hold onto the toaster?
Maybe if he moved some books, he could hook it onto the bookshelf itself. Warily, Sparky placed one foot on the bottom shelf, preparing to push himself up.

Yamaroshi grinned as Talon expressed his excitement. He was glad somebody shared is interest in the learning of new elements. Not only that, but it seemed the the means of learning his next element were in easy reach.
His excitement now growing, he nearly forgot about the boy who he was doing a favour for, until Talon noticed him.
The boy was relieved that he would not have to deal with 'Mr. Cobalt'. Though he never would have expected Sparky's reply. Apparently he knew he could have hanged himself--according to him, it was what he was trying to do. Now Yamaroshi wasn't sure if the boy was joking, or just stupid. His grin faded, and he pulled out his drew his wand long enough to mutter, 'diffindo' before putting it back. The portion of the cord around the kid's neck snapped. As it fell to the ground, the end still attached to the toaster dangled as it moved back and forth over the floor.
"Well, it's not strong enough to withstand a cutting spell, anyway,"
