OOC: For Mury
Winter was not all fun and games.
Sometimes the weather got too bad to go and hang out outside, and there was work to do for classes. Today was one of those days, where the snow outside was so unruly and the wind whipping about so much that it was just not conducive to go outside and skate or have fun. So even people like Roan Aliagh sighed and moved their day schedule inside to work on something. She herself had gone to the library, though schoolwork was the last thing on her mind as she did so. It had been a while since the brunette had traveled into the dusty hall of the school, a very long while. In the war it had been completely destroyed, now at least it was up and working again so that students could come and find a bit of peace and quiet. The Hufflepuff walked in, a look of longing on her face as her eyes rested on the books around her. How long ago had it been that these were her only friends and her only interest? Silly girl…
Her jeans brushed the floor as she walked with her hands in the pockets, the lights on the desks in the library making the white of the sweater she was wearing seem to glow. Muggle clothing was all that Roan owned right now, her parents had conveniently gotten rid of all the rest of the robes. Her long brown hair did not have it’s usual coating of snow it held these days, but that was alright. At least it was dry for once! There were a few students at tables, but the girl walked silently past them, not really knowing where she was going, only that she wanted something to do before her brain exploded from the boredom.
Finally she stopped her stroll down the isles when she saw one neatly labeled ‘Curses and Countercurses’. Roan had to admit, she was intrigued even if fighting was something she didn’t seek out anymore. A good curse was always useful…even if it was for some fun. So the brunette shrugged and walked into the isle, one light finger brushing the spines of the books on the shelves with reverence. “Let’s see…” She whispered to herself, hazel eyes considering each title that she passed until she found one that made her grin and almost chuckle aloud with mirth. ‘Curses for the Cursed, Jinxed, and just Downright Unlucky.’ Well…that was her!
With another smile on her face Roan grabbed the spine of the book, it was not large or old, surprisingly new, and just sat down there in the isle with her back resting against one of the shelves. Lightly she turned the cover and the first few pages, treating the book as she would treat something made of easy to shatter glass, and began to read. If you couldn’t spend the winter outdoors, you may as well spend it doing something cozy, at least, that was Roan’s philosophy. And she was doing just that.
