OOC: Sorry, but Invite Only.
A stray ray of moonlight spilled through the glass of the window into the library. The silver light bathed the aged tomes closest to the window in an eerily translucent light. Everything else was still pitch darkness of night. Nobody was to be seen in the large chamber, late night studiers or those who just couldn't sleep alike. The night was also strangely quiet, things were still, too still for anyone's liking. The only two beings that could be seen were the two making their way through that same window which had just let in the light.
With one final push, Aidana fell into the room with a loud thump. Cursing the infernal window, she looked behind her hoping to see someone follow. When no one appeared a moment later, she felt a little bit dense. Of course she wouldn't see him, he was under a Disillusionment Charm. she had put it on him herself, how could she forget? They had waited until midnight before leaving the hotel. She had sauntered past the innkeeper as if she left at odd hours all the time. To his credit, he didn't seem the least bit peturbed. So this was what five galleons bought you.
Under the cover of darkness, she had stolen to the large castle near the town. This could only be the school, and the few Prefects patrolling confirmed it. How she managed to get on the grounds undetected, even she couldn't figure out. It seemed hardly likely that they wouldn't run into anybody, but she wasn't going to press her luck now. A few turns later, she had found herself at the window to the library, and here she was now. She just hoped that he had been able to follow her here.
Leaving him to fend for himself, she turned towards the great library. It was bigger than the one back at Magic Horizons, the shelves looked taller and the books looked older. This of course could only mean one thing. She was going to have to work quickly. Aidana had to find a book, oddly enough. That was the easy part. But this book was the same one that had turned her into a fire mage, and now she hoped it would do that to another person as well.
"Lumos," she whispered, holding her wand above her head. She could have used her fire magic, but something told her that she would be doing enough of that later on, so she decided to conserve her energy. With no librarian around, she would have to look for the book herself. It would be in the Restricted Section undoubtedly. There was no reason for it not to be. She made her way to the back of the library, expecting the worst to be guarding her way.
In front of the door, which was obviously the way into the Restricted Section, hung a long chain. Aidana cursed under her breath, hoping it wasn't what she thought it was. And sure enough it was. As soon as she got close enough, the chain sprang to life, a giant snake.
" Now, now, who do we have here? A little student trying to get into places where she can't go?" it hissed, leering at her.
Aidana scowled, she didn't have time for this. The last time she had been bailed out, but this time nobody could know he was here. " Just let me in," she frowned.
"I know you, a long time ago it was, but I still remember. I didn't let you in then, and I'm not letting you in now, it grinned, pleased with itself.
Any other night, Aidana would have been delighted at such a challenge, but now was not the time. She didn't have the patience for this. Suddenly, the light from her wand went out, replaced by a long tendril of flame. It snaked around the chain to where it was holding the door closed and burned. The snake hissed in defiance, but it could do nothing. The chain melted into two and the doorway was open.
"You'll have to fix that later," she said loudly seemingly to no one. Smirking, she pushed open the door and stepped inside.
