Quiet, steady-handed, and studious. Another stroll thru the park of studies; where the winding path was knowledge and the park benches were the books that she stopped to admire on her way. Geldaline had always loved the library. Leather-bound books that sat amidst volumes collecting dust and cobwebs. The secretive nooks that made it possible to hide away and keep to herself.
It was in one of those cozy nooks she found herself curled up with a pile of texts picked at a purpose. Books on the dark arts, the care of magical creatures, and potions. Three studies she found herself often either lacking or overachieving in.
She had settled quite comfortably into her corner surrounded by books when a thought occurred to her. 'Why was she sitting alone in the library when she should be outside in the sunshine with friends'? That's right, she didn't really have any. Aquaintences were alright, but friends were people you could always look forward to receiving a warm welcome from.
That thought made her think of her old school, and of her best friend. Cassandra Nash. The two had been insperable! They told each other everything and never expected less. How she longed to have a companion to turn to when she needed one! But here is where she would stay, for her mother demanded it. So she did. She sat alone, in the corner of an old dusty library, and she studied like a perfect student.
"Really now, Miss Geldaline Rayanne. Why must you always sneak away in silence and read these books," Chris said as he approached her from the shadows, holding onto the leathery binder of his own book that he had pulled from the shelves. With a wave of his wand and the words, "Lumos," Chris set forth a light as he guided it inches away from Geld's face as he looked at her with intent.
"So why do you come and read by yourself as you can clearly see it is a beautiful day?" Chris asked one more time as he let his book that he was holding come into the light showing one of the older transfiuration book as it almost fell to the ground but quickly picked back up with his good reflaxes.

She jumped at the sudden deep voice coming out of the shadows. Her hand flew to her chest where her heart beat a cadence of a battalion. "Chris!" She let out a breath she had not been aware she held. He created light for her and she smiled. "Thank you." He had asked her why she had come here. Should she tell him her reason or her mother's? "I'm simply brushing up on my studies as you can see." She pointed at the books in front of her.
Would he buy it? It was true that Slytherins were smart and sly. But would he see thru her? She knew very well, for she had placed it there herself, that he would only see mild interest in her eyes. But what lay behind the guise?

"Brushing up on your studies already, you do know that class hasn't even begun yet and your studying?" Chris said quizzicaly as he walked closer gazing at her with his emotions running wild as he saw her. Prehaps he should let his instincts take control of this since they usually had the best insight on how to do in these kind of conversation. However thinking about it again prehaps he'll let his Casanova side stand out.
"Well, prehaps you could use some company?" Chris said as he sat down next to her, brushing his hand agasint her's as he let his wand lay on the table and moved closer to Geldy and said, "Well if your studing I think I could help you too." With that said he pulled out his own books and quickly opened up but by studying her face he knew that wasn't her true motive of being up here.

He wanted to study with her. Oh blessed be why? She was not one to be sought after at this school. Yet, here was this boy, a Slytherin no less, offering to join her in her obvious solitude. Better to be accepting and grateful than to be scathing and deliberately a hermit. So she smiled a true smile and let him seat himself next to her. The slight brush of his hand against her's could in no way have been intentional she decided. He like Madaline. But, it would always be nice to have a friend, wouldn't it?
Her eyes lit up a bit as she continued to read into the book she had been holding before her. It was amazing what you could learn from such old literature. Yes, her mother would've been quite proud of her. Too bad she felt like a robot that was programmed to study, test, and achieve. An unconscious sigh escaped her pink lips and she rested her head momentarily in her palm. A quick glance at Chris's book had her questioning him.
"What exactly is it you're studying there, Mr. Stran?" She had no idea why she insisted on addressing everyone by title and last name. At times she cursed her manners and the way she was brought up. 'Do not address anyone by their first name unless they ask it of you.' Her mother's words rang endlessly in her head like the bells from the Bishop's Isle, north of Avalon. The bells had woken her many a night and she had gone to the top of the highest hill and watched as the monks in their simple brown robes had walked in a single file line about their sacred buildings.
The thought was that they were fools to be such glorified humans. It had once sickened her to hear those bells ring and ungodly hours of the day and night. Now, she associated her beloved mother's voice with the wretched things? Where had she been? Where had she gone? Her heart ached and her head throbbed. Blessed be she needed to relive the past two years and believe that she had once been a reveered Ravenclaw and the love of a noble Slytherin werewolf. But that was in the past. She came reeling back to the present, where she sat in a dusty library, dimly lit by a candle, with a Slytherin who was not cursed, he was just a normal wizard in training.

"Ummm are you okay?" Chirs asked Geld as he grabbed her hands and held them tight making sure she's ok and feeling quite happy he is holding her. To make matters worse he had forgotton that he was holding onto a book as it laid down in front of him. With the dust still sitting on top of it he took in a deep breath and blew on the cover exposing to the both of them what the book really is called. To his surprise there was nothing on the cover at all.
As Chris slowly peeled the book open the words started dissappearing faster and faster as he paged through it with a greater determination and yet he found nothing. "Yea I don't know if this book likes me Geldy," he said with a sly grin as he looked at her. To bad the book didn't have any words on it, looks like only the true owner could open it and read it, or it might even be a book of great power and importance. As he looked back at Geld he took her hands with great pleasure and said, "Do not worry for I am here and will always be here to protect you."

She felt like laughing. It was going to happen, wasn't it? For the first time in well over a week, she was going to end up laughing hysterically. But why did it have to be at poor Chris Stran of all people? The boy was just trying to be of some help. Her hands felt warm in his and she smiled, tight-lipped at him. "Thank you, Chris. That's a very kind offer of chivalry." She removed her hands and placed them neatly into her own lap.
Remembering him saying something about the book not liking him, she leaned over to look into its pages. The words were small and delicately written. But they covered every page she turned. What was he talking about the book didn't like him? She could read it quite clearly, why couldn't he? A confused look creased her brow as she cleared her throat and looked back up at the Slytherin boy. "Um, not to be a bother Chris, but why is it this book seems to be perfectly fine to me?"

"See that's the whole thing Geldy, the book so hates me. See it only lets other people read it when I'm around just to make me jealous, however if you were to be here alone with the book you couldn't read it," Chris stated in frustration as he paged through his book once more. To have a book hate him is such a terrible thing for he was fond of books especially when he could take a glance at the book below.
"But, there is a way to let me read it however it'll come as a small price to either of us. The only way for me to read it is to have someone drop a bit of their blood on this book. I can't force them to, actually the owner can never force anyone to," Chris added with a look of fear on his face, "that is because the owners of this book have been cursed to never see it for only they can see the true power behind it.
With that he put the book away for he can never have anyone hurt to read his book, prehaps with this feint he can finally open the book up and read it to himself for a week which is how long this curse would power down for.

Although she was listening intently and believed every word he said, it became difficult for Geldaline to want to. Why would a curse be so cruel to use the blood as a key to unlocking it? The books on her side of the table had lost all their appeal so she pushed them aside. Looking at Chris she watched the concentration on his face. He seemed torn up about the fact he had even mentioned the shedding of blood from someone else. Was this the Slytherin the Hat had found to be? She was seeing someone different.
Her hand slid from her lap and she tentatively reached her hand out to rest on his shoulder. The muscles beneath her palm flexed in response and felt warm. She watched where her hand was for a smattering of seconds as if something else would visibly happen. Green hues the color of the emerald isles slowly looked up into the eyes of the boy at her side. Who was he really? His heart was much too big to be that of a snake. And no heart beat as greatly as that of a man trying to impress a lady. His was rapid.

"Well if you know anyone willing to help me read this book just tell me, however I don't want them to feel any pressure at all. For even I don't know what's in here," Chris said staring at Geldy hoping that prehaps his heart would stop beating so fast and his face would come back to color. With the sun beaming stronger through the window Chris stared outside wondering prehaps he could get some other person to unlock the secret of the book for him.
The dark room began to darken just a little bit more around Chris not knowing if it is just him or something else that is affecting the room. With the dusty room getting darker and darker, Chris passed out right there on the floor with a great thud as all his belongings fall out of his pockets and thought to himself, "Prehaps this will help me."

She watched him fall. Watched his head hit the carpet and items scatter all around him. What had happened? Some trick of the light? He wasn't having a seizure of some kind was he? Geldy dropped to her knees by Chris and gathered his head carefully into her lap. Tapping him lightly on the cheek she called to him, "Chris, Chris wake-up!" her voice was firm and demanding. Perhaps it would shake him from his reverie. She tried three times to call to him by name. Then she couldn't take it anymore. "Oh for pity's sake, Christopher!" Leaning down just a breath away from his lips Geldaline closed her eyes. Maybe if it worked for Sleeping Beauty, it would work on a normal boy.

As those lips come closer and closer, Chris waits anticipating a kiss from the lips of Geldy. As he laid there he could feel her breath as her lips gently touch his lips he gave a quick tremble through his body. "Ahh so this is how her lips feels like," Chris said as he took a quick peek at her kissing him. With that he woke up with a great big smile on his face.
With that kiss Chris sat there in a daze smiling greatly at the kiss he got, ahh such great planning was formed and yet it was so quick and subtle that even he did not know of this plan till right now.
"Umm thanks for the kiss and revitalizing me Geldy, maybe if your ready we can kiss some more," Chris said as he smiled at her, while getting up as he sat himself back into his chair.

Shocked as she was by his 'sudden' recovery, Geldaline stood straight up. She gathered her books and cradled them in one arm. Walking around behind him she leant over his shoulder and whispered closely to his ear. "You would like that wouldn't you? To kiss me again? Maybe longer this time? More passion behind it?" She could feel his reaction to her words. Typical male. But, he was a friend, and friends deserved to be treated as such from another friend. With complete honesty and kindness, right?
She leaned back and watched the way his body had responded to her. 'Silly boy' a swift kick and the chair went out from under him. As he lay there at her feet she smiled down at him. "Maybe later Chrissy boy. Much later!" She turned on her heel and left the library. She wasn't mad, but she didn't like Chris that way.
