But, apparently, it was not harmful to Welsh girls, and, Morgan found, it was essential to Ravenclaws. Thus, she had run her first interview with Ashelle, and she was now ready to have here second with Gwen. She was still mulling over the results of that conversation, but delaying this interview would not be to her interest. She needed to gather as much information as quickly and quietly as she could. Knowledge really was power in circumstances like these, and she wanted to have a clear idea what was going on before she charged off to do something stupid.
Will that stop you from doing something stupid? asked Mondlied.
No, I'm probably still going to do it, regardless, but as least I'll be informed.
Ah, I see. So, you're just fulfilling a desire to be an informed idiot, rather than an uninformed one
You got it. Now, come on. I have an errand for you.
At your service, boss
She handed the bird a note, and he flew off to get Gwen and lead her to the room at the back of the library where Morgan waited. If no one saw her go get Gwen or Ashelle, there was less of a chance that they'd connect her to anything. Still, having Gwen be seen with Morgan's distinctive bird might lead to questions, so she'd illusioned him to resemble a small, brown, nondescript owl. Asher remained, unseen in his position outside of the room, ready to let Morgan know the second Gwen arrived, or whether there was anyone listening at the door. Dora stood sentry inside, as a surprise for anyone who tried to come in unwanted.

Sitting cross-legged on top of a high bookcase, Shadonious Clearwater sighed, closing the book he had been attempting to study and dropping it to the ground below. How was he suposed to learn anything if his mind kept trailing off onto other things? Or one of the four -Gwen, Tosh, Aeris or Jess- walked past, causing Shadow's concentration to follow them until they left.
Yelping in shock as an owl flew past his head, the slytherin rubbed the back of his head with his hand. "What kind of person flies an owl in a library?" he muttered, pulling out his wand and pointing it at the fastly disappearing bird. Stupefy. Jumping down from the bookcase, Shadow stood up and dusted himself down before approaching the stunned bird. Removing the letter gently from it's foot, he smirked slightly as he read the letter. He picked up the bird, taking care not to hurt it and headed for the room Morgan had taken residence in.
Leaning against the wall besides of the door that concealed Morgan and the wolf from view, Shadow released the bird from it's spell and crossed his arms over his chest. "Messengers in a library, prefect?" he spoked softly from the other side of the door.

You okay? The prefect asked her familiar when he came flapping back in, still in posession of his note. Damn, she knew she should have arranged the delivery system better. It was too easy to intercept owls.
I am not an owl! But, yeah, I'm fine. He just stunned me.
Sorry, but I'm glad you're alright. To her uninvited guest, which she'd gathered was Shadow, she said, "Come in, Shadow. Now that you're here, I may as well ask you what I had planned to ask her."

Smirking slightly as he was allowed entrance, Shadow slipped his hands into his pockets and looked around the room. Eyeing the wolf with curiousity he frowned, "How come you're allowed to keep one and I got sentenced for taking care of them?".
Biting his lip gently, the teen looked towards the Ravenclaw prefect, "O-kay... just don't expect me to tell you anything secretive." He shrugged, staring up at the ceiling for a moment.

"You will note that my wolf does not fly, and also, when we leave this room, she will be disguised as a dog. It's about covering your tracks as well as possible, Shadow," she said, after casting an imperturbable charm on the door. No sense in getting herself caught at this point in the game. Right now she just wanted information.
"Please, make yourself comfortable, Shadow. I just want to ask you a few questions about the rebellion. Should you not feel inclined to answer, I won't press the matter, and if you want to leave, I'll lift the charm and let you go. All I ask in return is that you not tell anyone about our conversation. Do we have a deal?"

"And flying matters?" Shadow smirked, rolling his eyes slightly and sitting upon a desk. He frowned at the prefect's sudden change for a formal tone. All questions about Andreev vanished as he rested his head against his palm. This conversation was obviously something more than a common chat, it was much too - strange...
"Alight, deal," the teen grinned, watching Morgan closely with curiousity.

"Excellent." The prefect beamed, obviously pleased. "So, I have a pretty good idea about who you'd asked to join your rebellion, so I won't ask you too mauch about that. However, I do need I few details about what your plans were, why you wanted to rebel. Don't give me any of that cock-and-bull about wanting to help lycans either. I want the truth, Shadow. All of it." Her posture had changed entirely, from formal, charming hostess, to impatient interviewer. She leaned back in her chair, her arms folded, her face sporting a 'don't mess with me' look. If she hadn't been wearing a dress, her feet would have been propped up on the table in front of her.
Dora growled soft and low from her corner. "Shush, Dora," Morgan told the wolf. "We like Shadow. He's our friend." It was only an act, but maybe it'd intimidate him into spilling his guts. She wouldn't have had to do this with Gwen, which is why Morgan'd picked her. But Shadow was unpredictable, just as likely to fly off the handle and storm out of the room as to tell her what she wanted to know. Mondleid looked imposing too. Well, as imposing as he could while pretending he was an owl, and not the large, white and black bird of prey that he really was.
"Please, Shadow, it's important. I need to know." Sincerity dripped like syrup from every word.

Leaning on his elbows, Shadow crossed his legs as he sat upon the desk. This girl has serious mood changes, he mused, a small smirk crossing over his features as she began to ask him questions. He allowed her to finish speaking to the wolf before, raising an eyebrow and glaring at the creature. "First off, don't go saying that you won't press the matter and then speak to me like that. Save this one time, I take no notice of that tone. Second, why the hell are your animals looking at me like this?"
Sighing quietly after a few moments, Shadow spilled. Not the whole truth, no, just a portion of it. See, however much Munro had betrayed them, the teen was keeping his promises. "You want to know why I joined? I'll be honest. I joined for my own reasons, not this lycan stuff. I hate lycans - why would I help them?"
He continued quietly, "I've always been fascinated by the dark magic. I found out about my great-grandfather, and how he had been a death eater. My legacy turned to be like his, he was the last to see the same dark passion as myself... I seek the 'better' world. Where fear strikes the hearts of common minds at a simple word or name. I want my name up there... and quite frankly, I was a bit caught up in the moment, with Gwen when she first mentioned it." His last words were little more than a mutter, a small streak of red crossing over his cheeks.

"Sorry, I'm not very good at this hard-boiled detective stuff. I was just copying what they all did in the books, since it seemed to work." She said, and called her animals off. They weren't happy, but they pretended to be not paying attention to the two humans. She listened carefully to what he said, trying to guess at what he wasn't saying. Her face was carefully emotionless as he told her what he felt he could. She was going to have to tlk to Gwen about this anyway, and see where their stories matched. Not to mention that Gwen might give her a little more. And she needed as much information as she could get.
She knew now she'd have to interview someone from the Ministry, and probably the BFC too, but who? Plutus and Forbes were out of the question. They'd see through any illusion she tried, and she wasn't rehearsed enough in this detective stuff to be convincing. That's why she'd started small, with students, on a campus where the Ministry wasn't allowed to interfere. Even if they caught her here, the worst that could happen is them convincing Windwaltz to send her back to Wales.
However, Shadow's passion for the Dark Arts disturbed her somewhat. Not greatly, for she'd suspected as much, but it was rather unsettling to think that there were some who sought that kind of demented power. His utopia would be as unbearable as Plutus's, however different the two were. "So, you were only in it for glory, to have your name revered." It made sense, and Morgan could detect no falsehoods there. "Why did Gwen want to do it? Was she after infamy too?"
"No I wasn't," Gwen laughed coming up from behind Morgan. She had been studying at the next table and couldn't help but listen in on what was being asked. Looking toward Shadow, she gave him a soft smile. Though she was beginning not to trust him as far as their relationship goes, she still trusted him with everything else.
Walking to a chair beside Shadow, she looked at Morgan and raised an eyebrow. "So what all do you wish to know?" she asked in the serious emotionless voice that was used upon first arriving and the same that was used upon meeting Shadow. "And why do you want to know? Is this going to be leaked to anyone?" she asked in a hushed tone.
Yes she was paranoid to boot ever since the trial. And this seemed to have led to her loosing trust in a lot of people.
Leaning next to Shadow's ear, she looked down forming her words perfectly. "I need to talk to you after this is done," she whispered softly to him.

Morgan was stunned that she'd been so unobservant to not notice that Gwen had been in the room all along. Check to make sure no one else is in the room. she said to her animals. To Gwen, she said, "Welcome Gwen, I only wish to know everything you two were planning in your rebellion, before your trial. We Ravenclaws hoard information like dragons hoard gold. No one outside of this room will know what you tell me. As for why, I suppose that if I expect you to tell me the truth, I should start by telling you the truth too. I am finding out everything I can about your rebellion, the inner workings of the Ministry, and the BFC."
Just then, Dora reported, I smell no one else in the room, nor do I sense body heat other than that of you three.
Mondleid said I see no one, nor do I hear any but you three.
Asher reported, from his station outside the room, I have neither seen nor heard nor smealt anyone enter the room but you three, and the red-haired girl who left.
Then why didn't you tell me she was in the room? vexed Morgan
She was the one you wanted to see, right? intoned Mondleid
Yes, but you should have told me she was already here.
Sorry, boss said the three in unison.
She returned her focus to her two human compainions. "I want them gone," she said.

Shaking his head slightly, Shadow rolled his eyes. He understood that he wasn't good with words but he thought he was better than that at explaining. "No. Glory was not what I meant. See, I want that same adrenaline that runs through people when they are fearful, but my name in lights, no. I want them to know my name, to fear it, but I do not want it up there for this reason," he tried to explain, but having a feeling he was failing at it. "Look, all my life I've been called anything but a magus. It's always, "You're scum Shadow, you know it" or "You'll get nowhere, your a mess". Well yeah, maybe they're right, but it still hurts to have someone say it to your face. Haven't you ever wanted the thrill of revenge?"
Looking up as Gwen approached, Shadow returned her smile, a mixture of joy and guilt running through him. He shut his mouth, allowing her to speak to the ravenclaw, knowing that this should be her interview after all. She whispered to him, sending a small wave of emotion through him. He replied in a similar tone, "Yeah, I guess sure."
"Good," she smirked quietly to Shadow before turning to Morgan. She listened to Shadow and shot him a sympathetic look. "Shadow don't let those words get to you. You are amongst the strongest people I know and you will get somewhere," she smiled softly.
So the cat was out. Morgan wanted in. "As for the planning, it was a bit unorganized," she laughed softly. "But before I came across Shadow it was me and my sister Selene plotting. Though she has all the original written out plans, there always seems to be something to push us back a few steps," she said lowering her eyes. "This is going to be new to Shadow as well, but I am going to try and form alliances with as many anti-Plutus and anti-BFC groups as possible." Her voice remained professional regardless of the fact that all three of them were students. But this was an important matter.
Post by Morgan Pendragon on Jan 30, 2008 12:53:17 GMT -5
Ah, so she was going to have to talk to Selene now, was she? Actually, did she have to talk to Selene? Her plans were just to gather as much information as she could about the Ministry and the BFC to see if she could spot a weakness in their defenses. Maybe she should, though. If they were planning something, then it might interfere with her efforts. If they struck, then people might get suspicious of her, and she couldn't have that.
The temptation to join them was weak, but it was present. If she formally joined them, she'd know when they were going to act, and could figure it in to any actions she'd take. However, if she were their official ally, then her name might end up on some list of conspirators in the Minister's office. (she had no idea that this had already happened.) Still, she had to be able to know what, if anything they were going to do. "Okay, I tell you what. I'm going to be doing a lot of digging and sniffing around the ministry and the BFC. I'll tell you what I find, if and when I find it. In return, you will tell me if and when you plan on taking any action. That way I'll be able to figure that into anything I do. Is that okay?"

Looking down sheepishly at the sympathetic glance Gwen gave him, Shadow muttered a small reply, intending for only himself to hear. "I'll get somewhere alright... Hell."
Jumping down from the table, the rebel teen walked a few paces away from them both, listening as the both spoke. He sighed quietly, taking out the wand he had bought with Malachy's gold and focusing his attention upon it. He had a short attention span, it wasn't something he was proud of, but long conversations slipped past his brains without a sign of recognition. Yet, he was trying to listen.
"Don't expect it to be anytime soon, well I guess Gwen could act. I won't be doing anything for a while, till I get rid of this," he snarled lightly, hating the fact that he was still placed under the Trace. And until it was broken he was stuck in probation. Looking up, he glanced towards the seventhyear, "I'm not working alongside your cousins. Selene, I supose I can manage. Not the other two. Never."
