So, Nadia had totally been doing a lot of thinking lately, which was different for her. Not that she was stupid, but Nadia was kind of a take action now, think about it later kind of person. It was a life philosophy that had produced mixed results for her, but it was just how she was. Sometimes she ended up thinking she could have made a better decision had she taken a moment to look before she leaped. Okay, so most of the time it was like that, but sometimes her impulsiveness was a good thing.
Anyway, the important thing is that she'd been thinking about being at Firefox.
She'd decided that even if she wasn't sure she wanted to be a witch, she should still give the whole magic thing a chance. As far as she knew, there was no way wishing to be a muggle was going to make her one. And, it was better that she do her best to make sure that no matter what she decided to do in the future, she wouldn't accidentally cause some sorcerous catastrophe.
She'd need to practice though. She already knew that the whole theory part of it was way over her head, but that was okay. You didn't need to understand theory to be reasonably competent with a wand, right?
With this in mind, she'd climbed the stairs to the top of the tower. She needed a secluded place to practice, without risking serious property damage or bodily injury. That meant the common room was out. The rain, falling heavily and causing the windows to become blurred with flowing water, meant that the outdoors would be a bad choice as well. At least, until she perfected her umbrella charm. Besides, she'd heard that the staff here had had to rebuild this tower so many times that they could do it overnight, with their eyes closed.
Still, she was a little nervous as she climbed the stairs. There hadn't been an astronomy class since she'd been here, so she figured that the empty classroom would be perfect for what she needed. She only hoped she would be alone. If she had to explain herself, she was sure that her face would turn just as red as her hair. It was the redhead curse, really. Awesome red hair, but a pasty complexion that she couldn't tan to save her life, and a hair trigger blush reaction.
She pushed at the door. It didn't budge. Was it locked? "Alohomora," She cast, her cherry wand at the ready, and her voice unsure. She pushed again, and again found the door immovable. A frown crossed her features, and she sat, back against the door, unsure of what her next move should be. The rain still pounded outside, and she wasn't so sure it was a good idea to practice magic in a corridor, at the top of a long staircase, where just about anybody might walk by. She turned her wand in her hands as she considered the problem.DERP!DERP!
