Mayu woke up in the hospital wing. Had she fainted while studying? Yuma looked concerned. After all, Mayu never fainted usually...
"What happened?" Mayu asked sleepily, "Why am I in the hospital wing?"
"You fainted," Yuma answered in a rather matter of fact tone, "And the teacher here carried you into the hospital wing."
"Is that so? You must have been scared, Yuma..."
Yuma reached down and hugged Mayu, and Mayu returned the embrace. Mayu looked at Addie, and added, "Thank you for carrying me here. I hope I wasn't too much trouble..."

The green-eyed woman was startled out of her reverie when she heard a voice speaking to someone named Yuma. It must be the Ravenclaw girl. She turned away from the window towards the bed. Yes, the girl had woken up and looked as if she was having a conversation with someone, but no one was there. How odd...Adhara looked puzzled for a moment before realizing that the girl was speaking to her.
"Of course not sweetie," Adhara looked at her sympathetically, "It's perfectly understandable, considering the shock you just went through. Here, you lie still now. Would you like some water?"
She reached for the pitcher behind her as she awaited the girl's reply.

The professor decided not to comment on the fact that conjuring her own water was not laying still and resting. The girl seemed perfectly alright except for the fact that the bump on her head apparently was making her hallucinate. The girl that had been killed had such similar features that Addie assumed she was a close relative. Maybe even a sister or a twin.
True, the brunette had lost her family as well and the experience had been horrific. However, she had barely any memories of that time and despite being a teacher the woman really had no maternal instincts. She couldn't remember what Athena had done for her when she was child in the same position as this girl. Athena had brought her Ollufemi but apparently that had been a last ditch effort to break her out of her stupor. Athena had also taught her all kinds of dueling, defense charms, hexes, and high level spells. This girl would probably like that but this was a far different situation. The girl had no pressing need to learn how to defend herself in order how to heal.
So what should she do?
Well first she needed to find an actual nurse. The fact that the girl was still talking to this "Yuma" was deeply disturbing and probably a sign that she'd seriously hurt her head when she fainted. By instinct, Adhara did not point out to the Ravenclaw that she was speaking to someone when no one was there. Obviously the person's presence was comforting and it was probably best that the girl stay calm. Telling her that she was going crazy most likely was not going to help matters.
Staying calm. That was definitely the best plan for them both. Now certainly was not the time to think of the wide, staring eyes of the helpless gir---No. No, she had to care for the child here. It would do no one good if she allowed her panic to bubble to the surface now. Plenty of time for breakdowns later. She had to keep a grip on herself.
Taking a deep breath she put a cheerful smile on her face, "Well you're awake and responsive but you had a really nasty fall and hit your head pretty badly when you fainted. There's no blood, thankfully the steps are worn down, but I would like to get the nurse to check you out. Sometimes when you take a knock like that problems can come up later. But you look like you're going to be just fine."
"You stay right here in bed and I'll go find the nurse, okay? Keep sipping that water," The brunette turned and turned the knob, checking on the little girl once more over her shoulder before going out and closing the door behind her.

Mayu sat up. Why did the woman not respond to Yuma? Was she purposely ignoring her? Mayu ran her fingers across her head, but felt nothing. No bump, nothing. She hadn't hit her head. Why was this woman lying to her? Was she trying to keep her here for some reason?
"You shouldn't trust that woman," Yuma said, suspiciously.
"Yeah, I know. I was thinking the same thing," Mayu replied.
She sat up, and looked down at her hands. One of them held a book that she had borrowed from the library. It was a history book, but nothing more. She opened to a page, and started reading from it. Reading always made her feel better.
"Hey... Could you read me that book? It'd make me feel a lot better. Remember? Just like when we were three?" Yuma requested...
"Err... The boy who lived, more commonly known as Harry Potter was from there involved in many suspicious incidents. In fact, it was he who witnessed the return of the dark lord Voldemort... Honestly, what a stupid name.... You would think he could do better..."
"I know you could, Mayu. Haha," Yuma replied.
"It says here that Voldemort used horcruxes... Those are nasty..." Mayu added.
"But, they could help you live!" Yuma said.
"You think?"
"Of course. I think they would be a great idea. You know how to make them, right?" Yuma asked, looking at Mayu.
"Y-yes... But..." Mayu replied hesitantly.
"Then, don't hold back. Make one. Oh, and research anything you can. That'd help."
Mayu looked down at the book. She thought for a brilliant moment that she saw the main flaw in Voldemort's plans. Yes, there is was, staring her in the face. She smiled, looking at the book, and then closed it. She knew what she would do, but she needed practice. Just a little bit. And some hardcore training...
And so arrived Orifiel. Now, seeing as he had not been a professor for some time and carried no formal position of authority either within the university or even the ministry, there wasn’t any real reason why Orifiel should be there at just that moment. Of course, he had been a divination professor, so perhaps it had something to do with fate?
This was a questionable explanation at best, of course, but-
“Wait, who are you to tell me where I should and should not be?” Orifiel asked, quite politely.
Honestly, Orifiel probably should have been almost any location except at the school.
“Now, it would be nice if my question was answered.” He insisted.
It was Orifiel who was speaking.
“Wait, so that means that you are me and I am you.” He inquired.
Orifiel was probably on the right logic train.
“Then if I am you and you are me, then I have just as much justification for being here as you. Thus, I’m going to have to ask: why are you here questioning why I should not be here, if you should not be here either. Which is to say why am I questioning myself as to why you are here as me when you should be gone and thus I should be gone, yet am still here.” He argued, being the brilliant mind that he was. Good looking, too.
Flawless logic was flawless, Orifiel was clearly there with good reason.
“Thank you.”
Orifiel was welcome.
Now, today wasn’t just any day for Orifiel. He was evidently a doctor today. Why was he a doctor? Well, he was wearing lavender medical scrubs, that’s why. Quite frankly, who would wear lavender medical scrubs other than a doctor? A crazy serial killer? Nah, they were partial to beige, everyone knew that.
Pushing past the woman, opening and heading through the door she had just closed, he wandered up to the twins. Patting Yuma on the head, he looked down at Mayu. “So, ready to get diced up today?”
“Nurse,” he said, looking back towards Adhara, having somehow procured a scalpel in each hand, “What’s the diagnosis?”

Hearing Mayu beginning to muter about Horcruxes, the brunette stopped in her tracks in shock. How did she know of them? She was about to ask when a man in light purple scrubs came up the corridor toward her.
This man was not supposed to be in here. Adhara had never seen him before in her life; something seemed quite off about him. Something twisted uncomfortably in her gut as he shoved past her into the room, leaving little shivers running down her arms. Something wasn't right...and he was talking to himself too! What was this? Was SHE the only sane one here??
Best not to answer that, really.
She was no longer sure if she was sane or not. But no matter her mental status, she was not going to allow this man to cut into the poor little girl. Glowering at him, she breezed past him and situated herself between him and the Ravenclaw laying prone on the bed. One hand slipped into her pocket to finger the handle of her wand, not that she really needed it. The familiar feel of the wood was comforting though, and a physical reminder that glued her to reality.
Lifting her chin in order to meet his eyes she replied, "I am not a nurse. I am Adhara Naunet, the Charms Professor here. I was just going to find where the actual nurse is. And you are not cutting into this child, there is nothing to warrant it."
"Who are you?" Green orbs narrowed suspiciously, "I have never seen you before."

Yuma called to Mayu, "Now's your chance! Kill her! She lied to you! She's trying to kill you! It's time to kill her!"
Mayu lifted her wand, and pointed it at Adhara, as if in a dream. The spell she was going to cast. She knew it well, though only from books. She knew the words. Just two. She only had to say them. Only once. The thought of Adhara's body lying on the floor excited her. She began to mouth an "a"...
"Petrificus Totalus!" Mayu screamed, and sparks flew out of her wand towards Adhara's back. How DARE she stop the nice doctor from helping her!
In the back of her mind, though, she knew that Adhara had not meant to hurt her. She knew that Adhara was trying to help. She couldn't kill her. No, not her.
"Am I really that bad, doctor?" Mayu asked, "Do I need surgery?"
Yuma added, "She's never fainted like this, before."
Mayu stood up and walked over to Orifiel, and asked, "What's your name, Doctor?"

There was an attack, but not from the direction Addie was expecting. Never in her wildest dreams would she have thought that the child would hex her from behind. All of her energy and attention had been solely focused on the threat of the man in front of her not on the girl at her back. Therefore it was a shock to feel the impact of the hex as it slammed into her body, causing her limbs to lock up, with her hand still in her pocket, finger tips on the handle of her wand.
Her sudden inability to control her body and the impact of the spell toppled her sideways, causing her to slam into a flimsy table flanked by two chairs. On the way down her elbow knocked a metal tray with potions on top of it and it went flying. The sound of her own impact on the tile floor was muffled both by her robes and the sound of glass shattering as the bottles fell to the ground around her, pooling multicolored liquid on the smooth white surface.
That was certainly going to leave a few bruises once she got out of this. It was possible to throw off the curse if one had enough training and mental focus. Addie had done it before, but in a very quiet environment without distractions or pressure. She had had all the time in the world. Now she was feeling pressed and panicked and her confidence in her mental fortitude had been greatly shocked. There was no way she could get herself into the required calm, meditative state necessary to break the bonds of the spell.
So she did the only thing she could. Adhara lay on the floor, a silent spectator to the drama playing out before her, green eyes still opened wide with shock and horror.

“Nurse!” Orifiel exclaimed, showing anger at her collapse instead of the shock or surprise one might expect. Kneeling down next to her head, he pointed an accusatory finger towards her as he began to sternly reprimand the lazy nurse. “This is no time to be sleeping on the job! I’ll see to it that you’re suspended without pay for a week! Honestly, do you not know the meaning of the word ‘integrity’? It is because of people like you that no one has any faith in modern healthcare.”
“I’m sorry you had to see that.” he said, straightening up and facing the girl once more. “Forgive her, please, she’s new around here and hasn’t quite gotten the hang of how things work. She’ll straighten up, or she’ll be stuck washing dirty scrubs for the rest of her career.”
“As for your condition, if you’re able to stand on your own, we probably don’t need to operate after all.” he said, pocketing the scalpels before continuing. “While my nurse might be in need or a lobotomy or two later on, for now, we should probably find her an inconspicuous place to sleep where she hopefully wont be disturbed.” He continued, eyes roving around the room until they at last settled on a closed door- presumably one for a storage closet for potions and other medical instruments. “There ought to work.” He said, pointing it out.
Yet, something had bothered Orifiel during his examination of the room. A book that she had dropped on her bed bore the seal upon it’s binding which marked it as belonging to the library. Now that the most pressing matters were settled, he refocused attention on this irksome detail. “Now now now.” Orifiel said, “If you are done with that book, I must insist you return it to the library promptly. It’s only good manners, in case someone else wants to read it.”
“You may call me Orifiel, by the way. Doctor Orifiel, if you so please.”

"He's got a point. There's probably someone no one cares about there. We can end his misery," Yuma threw out.
Indeed Doctor Orifiel had made many a good point. Mayu grabbed the book from the bed, and pulled it to her side. With a flick of her wand, and "Wingardium Leviosa!" Mayu walked over to the closet, and opened the door, closing it after she had placed Adhara inside. She walked back over to Orifiel.
"Shall we be off to the library, then? And, have you any jewelry I could use? I have a spell I simply MUST try, Doctor," Mayu's voice sounded a lot calmer. Her carriage had changed completely... She was not bent over in a book. She was no longer fidgeting. She looked confident. VERY confident.
As she walked toward the door, she turned back to see Yuma following her. She opened the door, and asked, "Doctor Orifiel, will you join me, please? I would be ever so delighted with your company, and I am sure we can help each other in ways neither of us know, now."
Proceeding down the corridor, she didn't wait to see if Orifiel followed. She was going to the library.
"Ah, what a delightful little girl!" Orifiel exclaimed about Yuma, always out there trying to do charity work to better the overall happiness of her school. If they had any sort of school spirit award, she would be sure to win, which would look wonderful on any resume.
"Jewelry? No...I don't believe so." He said, yet, after a moment or two of thought, his face broke into a broad grin. "I think I have something better, if you want to practice some pretty magical tricks."
Yet, then she was off, before Orifiel could even reply as to whether or not he was following.
Oh well, he would catch up. There was but a single matter left unfinished. Drawing out a syringe, presumably from the same place his scalpels had come from he went over to the closet Adhara had just been unceremoniously dumped in. "I apologize, nurse, but I'm afraid we'll have to run a few tests. Now, hold still." Without further delay, he stabbed the tip into the professor's arm, drawing out a bit of her blood until the barrel had an ample amount within.
Closing the door behind him, so that his nurse could rest in peace, he set off after the twins.

Stupid bloody closet. Stupid bloody impostor doctors. Stupid bloody children. The second she got out of this mess, that Orifiel was going to be blasted into tiny pieces and fed to Gila monsters. And the nerve of that little brat, hitting her from behind and then levitating--levitating!--her into the closet. She heard them leave through the closed door and heaved a sigh.
How was she going to get out of here?
At least now she had the peace and quiet required to wandlessly get out this spell. But she still wasn't sure if she could muster the mental concentrated she needed. It was getting harder and harder to continue tamping down her panic about this whole situation. The emotions she had repressed earlier about the head of Mayu's friend and the memories about her family, which still disturbed her, were bubbling to the surface and doing battle with her calm, rational side. She tried to steady her breathing but her heart continued to race along, making it impossible.
There was no way she could break the hex without managing to calm herself more. And that didn't seem like it was going to happen anytime soon. There were too many emotions to neutralize and too much pressure to do so quickly.

Ashelle was just finishing up her shift in the Hospital Wing, buy delivering a trolley of potions made by the potions mistress to the remedy closet. When she entered the wing something seemed off. One of the beds was unmade and there was something . . . not right in the air. Ashelle proceeded with caution to the remedy closet. She parked the trolley nearby, and open the closet . . . and nearly screamed when she saw a teacher lying inside. "Oh my goddess!" she said when she'd recovered her speech, and quickly cast the counter curse to Petrificus Totalus hoping it was the one that had been used and not something more sinister.

"Do I LOOK alright?" She snapped at the nurse. Where in the world had she been through all of this mess anyway? Adhara glowered at her before suddenly realizing that the hex had been broken. She staggered to her feet and winced at the pain in her arm from where Orifiel had jabbed the needle in. Her stomach roiled at the danger of having him in possession of her blood. Blood was an incredibly potent magical substance, as any child growing up with at least one magical parent knows. It made her flesh crawl to think that anyone, especially that so-called doctor, had hers. This was why vampires were so feared in the magical community--not only for their brutality but for their reliance on blood.
What Orifiel had done was the magical version of rape.
Taking a shaky breath she tried to steady herself. It worked, somewhat. She looked the nurse in the eyes, surprised to see that she recognized her. Taking a few more calming breaths she removed her wand from her pocket and thought of the happiest memory she could. In her mind's eye she was spinning in circles on the shore of the lake at Magical Horizons, having just set off a crate of fireworks with Michaela. The explosives were still ripping through the sky, looking like multicolored stars raining down. Mich stood a short distance away, smiling at her. An enormous Pegasus burst from the tip of her wand and galloped off in the direction of the Headmaster's office to deliver a message.
The brunette stared after the patronus for a moment before turning to the girl in front of her with a serious expression, "I'm sorry Miss Rainier, I've just had quite a shock. Please follow my patronus to Headmaster Windwaltz's office. There is an intruder in the school who just kidnapped a student. The student in question is not in her right mind--she is hallucinating--and I brought her up here after she fainted in the Arch."
"In fact," she looked nauseated for a moment, "If you do not find the Headmaster in his office, he is probably already down at the Arch. A lycan killed a student this morning and left her decapitated head on the steps. Mayu was unfortunate enough to find it and she fainted. This Doctor Orifiel arrived and she attacked me then went with him after I brought her up here. The headmaster will probably require your assistance. Tell him I'm going after them to the library. They were speaking of a book."
Having remembered to relay all of the pertinent information, Adhara herself set off to the library. She remembered Orifiel talking about the book and that was the most likely place to find one. Or hundreds. Hopefully they were still in there and she could stop him and retrieve the girl before anything awful happened. Her emotions had almost stopped functioning together and she was running on auto-pilot. Something was not right and she needed to take care of it, quickly.
