"What you say is a sound plan indeed Sir, but I wouldn't willingly repeat the Red Scare or the Salem Witch Trials. Would you?"
What Protege had said was both logical and made plenty of sense in Forgoil's mind, but the one thing that pestered at the strings of his mind were the possible reprocussions that such an investigation. Everything else; the truth serums, the dividing of labor and mass intelligence parties were perfectly fine with the Hufflepuff prefect. In fact if Forgoil didn't think as rationally as he normally did and spoke what came to mind first, he and Protege would have said the exact same thing. How would he fit best into the picture that Protege was painting; that was what Forgoil was wondering at the moment. He clearly wasn't the best of fighters, had little knowledge when it came to healing, and he made a terrible spy. If the blood of Helga Hufflepuff ran in her house as some may have commented, then Forgoil's blood would have been a pure match. He might not be useful in certain spots, but he knew that there were also other areas that he excelled in. With confidence building slowly in his mind, Forgoil Halifirien proceeded with what was on his mind.
"What you've voiced makes the most sense out of any possible plan that we could think up, but if a plan were so easy to think up; then why would we all be needed when one person simply needs to think it up and tell the rest of us? What I fear the most is a mass prosecutation and what if feelings become entangled with our searches for these shadows that might lurk within our halls? Just look a the Salem Witch Trials for instance; all those were was the accussations by a group of vengeful, teenage girls against those that stood in their way or that they simply disliked for some fickle reason. We have to find those that either know about the shadows or are in leauge with them, but we must avoid at all costs another trial that could be remembered with others of a vengeful caliber. We would need an impartial judge for such a trial to be effective, and I cannot think of any man that would be fit for the job for it is to be human to be biased about somethings."
"And as you said Miss Fuu, a good defense is crucial to our survival in our current situation. Like Protege said, we also need somebody to head that part of the labor; it's not going to be easy to make this castle defendable from trained wizards and who knows what else. If there isn't a professor that wishes to lead that up, or someone better qualified for the job, then I volunteer myself for the position. To be honest, I really don't see any other field that I would do well in save that one. I'm not the bravest of people, nor am I the best of leaders; but if you need someone with a level-head and some skill when it comes to holding a line...then I guess I'm your man."
'So much for being modest', thought Forgoil to himself; slightly embarassed that he had been so presumptuous in asking about positions. With a faint blush about his cheeks, Forgoil silently leaned a bit harder against the wall; as if he wanted to merge with it to escape what he just posed to the rest of the group.
