As Telanie approached the Phoenix he almost hesitated, at the sheer power that he as heard can emanate from Headmaster Windwaltz. But he must Continue. he hunched over going through the door coming into the room only to settle his eyes on where Talon would be. "Excuse me sir but I have heard of your power over the elements, and i wanted to know if you could teach me in the ways of air. You see I wish to master all of elements, I believe this will bring me closer to nature. The closer I am to the earth and it's many creatures, the more comfortable I am. I have entered the woods and although it may be dangerous it seems to me more misunderstood. Because of the different creature there... the shape changer." He then cleared his throat with a deep thunderous cough, and waited for the headmasters response.
"Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms."

Three weeks before...
"Africa, hmm?" Talon asked the Baron questioningly. The Baron had finally stopped shouting about his quicklewargs or whatever the creature was that he wanted to save. After Talon gave him the funding, he started to pester Talon about how very little the two talked, and finally Talon decided to make the Baron his Head of Admissions. There was a very funny story behind why Talon didn't make one of the Dwarves Head of Admissions, but that would either be told later or lost to obscurity.
"That's right. They call him 'Telanie Eluvias'. Supposed to be very gifted at the art of transfiguration." The Baron said in return, his grand moustache overpowering his face within the grand fireplace Talon used as his 'office phone' of sorts. "But," said Talon sitting back in his leather chair, "I thought the wizards and witches in Africa were all wiped out during the British take-over of the 19th century?" The Baron shook his head, his supreme upper lip brustling, "They attempted to. Bloody well almost did. But some survived, mostly due to the power of -" at this, he went silent and the fire-image almost jammed, as like to a choppy television connection.
Then he returned with "Magic Springs that repel muggles and keep wizards safe. Some also say that the wizards and witches bred with the Giants...it is quite possible that every wizard in Africa has at least some Giant blood in them. This boy especially. Heh, I suppose you'll see."
Talon had very well forgotten that time three weeks ago. Though getting a student from such a distant place as Africa seemed exciting to the Headmaster for the first two to three days, paperwork eventually buried his excitement alive. He had not thought of the new African student since. But today Talon had very little paperwork, and was able to think over some of the events of the past few days. He even thought of doing something relatively non-productive - shifting the room from office to bedroom and taking a nap for a few hours.
He once again sat back in his leather chair, contemplating, as he heard his door open behind him. "Excuse me sir." Talon heard a mighty, rolling voice from behind him. Talon turned around as quick as possible, and looked shocked at the presence of a large man. The ceiling to Talon's Office was only about 10' above the ground. This man seemed to be quite cramped. The man also seemed a bit young to be classified as a 'man', he was a teenager. Also, the teenager was dressed like a student, even though he had very vivid pictorial scars on his face. Lastly, his skin was a dark shade of ebony.
It hit Talon like a bag of bricks to his face. This was the African student - Telanie Eluvias. to settle his eyes on where Talon would be. "I have heard of your power over the elements, and i wanted to know if you could teach me in the ways of air. You see I wish to master all of elements, I believe this will bring me closer to nature. The closer I am to the earth and it's many creatures, the more comfortable I am." The Headmaster turned his chair so that the two were facing each other directly.
The Headmaster was a youthful man of nineteen. He wore a long purple robe that came from his shoulders down to his ankles. Around his neck hung a golden medallion carved with the effigy of two scimitars locking. His most strange feature, though, was the aura of lightning that seemed to emanate from him. His body would often release a discharge of lightning randomly from his body, and the spark would travel quickly to the medallion. His hair, which was already long, stood up like lightning rods and were just as much charged with electricity.
Lastly were his eyes. They were an unnatural shade of violet. They too were visibly charged with the aura. You could see when you looked into his eyes the very root of the thunder, very deep within at his heart's core. Telanie had been very right. From his appearance to his heart, one could see that this was one of the three surviving Elemental Gurus.
"Greetings, Telanie Eluvias." Talon said with a smile, "One of the last true African Wizards. It's an honor." It was obvious that the Headmaster was keeping off the last part of the statement. "Magic springs and Giants. You probably have many stories to tell." The Headmaster remained quiet after this, until finally he let himself address the second part with a stern expression. "But, what you ask of me is absurd. You do not understand Elementalism if you come to me now asking to learn this for an external purpose. You may show great promise, Master Eluvias, but you have only just taken your first steps into the Magic World. In time, I may teach you, but not today."
Now that this was addressed, his stern exterior melted into a more benevolent one, "Until that day comes, tell me about yourself and your life in Africa. I'm most interested in hearing your story."

Some what disappointed in with these words, he almost got up and left, but then realized that this would be rude and how could he get training from the headmaster if he was rude. So he stood up with a smile on his face and sat down in front of the headmaster in order to begin his tales. He recalled back to meeting a great creature of which he thought the headmaster would be interested in.
"In my studies I have meet many great creatures, one that stands out in my mind is something called a fabulous sea panther. These creators are magnificent. Imagen a panther with half of it's body being a long fish tail, and wings and two legs. There are many of these creatures, and this one told me lots of stories. As for my life in Africa it wasn't that odd. I grew up next to these wells that seemed to have magical properties, also my father is a giant. So in a way it is a little different. What was fun was definitely fighting. We had sparring matches in which we could use basically whatever you could bring to the proverbial table."
As he described these memory's he couldn't help shaking the fact that something was odd about the local woods. he constantly felt the presence of something different in the woods, and it was not going to go away anytime soon.
"Now I have a question for you what is in the forest that I have heard about around here? I feel like there is something lingering there. I think that I may be able to help, creatures tend to take a charm to me."

Talon sat back in his leather chair with a serene smile on his face as Telanie sat down and began to tell his tale. Though, of course, his life in Africa seemed interesting enough, Talon's attention was mostly drawn by the creature that the African described. "A Fabulous Sea-Panther!?" Talon said, almost in shock, "You have seen it? The little known 'Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World', the Fabulous Sea-Panther?" Talon had traveled far during his explorer years. He had gone from one side of Europe to the other side of Asia, from hither to thither, from north to south, and he had seen just the northern deserts of Africa, but he had never been in the deep land of the explorers and the tribes.
One of the many things Talon had actually sought out on his journeys was the Fabulous Sea-Panther. A race that could fly, walk, and swim at the same time could not possibly have gone extinct. Yet even after journeying so very far, he had found not a single one. Now Telanie had revealed to him why - because the Fabulous Sea-Panthers were in the deep of Africa! If only he had known! Though Talon was completely satisfied, it appeared that Telanie was not in the least.
"Now I have a question for you what is in the forest that I have heard about around here? I feel like there is something lingering there. I think that I may be able to help, creatures tend to take a charm to me." Talon's face, cracked with joy at the concept of the Fabulous Sea-Panther, immediately turned to stone. But he would not be cruel, indifferent, or push the African away. "There are a great many things that live in these woods. I wouldn't expect you to know the mythos of the Northmen, because I am sure you have been raised on the mythos of your own people, but they came here long ago - some say the furthest South they ever dared venture - and found this forest. As great, barbaric muggles - that is to say, people who don't have any connection to the magic world - they found themselves terrified by the magical nature of this Forest. They speak that once upon a time the Demon Wolf of the Gods, Fenrir, descended here and bred his dark offspring.
"I can't tell you whether that's true or not. What I can tell you, however, is that the forest is indeed controlled by demonic wolves, who are greater than normal ones. They are all led by a deranged man - I suppose the shape shifter you were referring to before - named Fenris Fenrir, or so it is said. He is not the Demonic Wolf of the Gods that I spoke of before, even though he bears his name. He is a Lycan, which means he is a human being with the curse - blessing - no, ability to become a wolf at will."
Talon mused over this for a few moments. There were a great many things that Talon could label himself under, but perhaps his proudest one was his position as a thinker. He could sit for hours pondering just about everything. That may have been why he was the only one capable of teaching history. "Charm with animals or not, I do not know whether you could change or even talk to them. They aren't natural, innocent wolves. They are, if you follow the mythos, extra-terrestrials. That is to say alien. Or just not naturally from the Earth."

Telanie bagan to question wether he could infact be one with this new creature. He then remebered something his father told him.
All creatures no matter how crazy they seem or evil were once natural, and you can see it. Just unlock it for them.
He had never really understood what it meant until now. He had to understand this creature other wise this creature would just slip into nonexistence.
"Everything had a primal form. I can tap into that primal soul and connect with anything at a closer level. This lycan you dought wether it is curse a blessing or an ability, well there is no ambiguedy being alive and connected to nature is a gift greater then magic. No matter who you are or what you have become everything starts like this."
Telanie gripped his staff harder just thinking of what it would be like to not be with nature. He was not angry at Talon, he was angry that he has not had the chance to help the lycan yet. He felt so driven to help this creature it was almost consuming him.
"Please do not misunderstand I am not mad at you, but this lycan is suffering, I believe that I can help him understand what he is and what he can do about it."bg
"Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms."
