OOC: invite only
So here she was. The violet haired prefect licked her dry lips in anticipation as she beheld the magnificently carved ruby phoenix, but the hot ball of worry that sat uncomfortably in the pit of her stomach prevented her from actually admiring the exquisite statue before her. It was a shame really, but Sylph was already accompanied by her fair share of beautiful animals. One copper and gold dragon, fire running in its metallic veins crouched on her left shoulder with a Hufflepuff prefect badge hanging from his golden hands, while a giant black and white osprey flexed his great wings on the right, both of the respective creatures' talons digging into her skin in vice like prickling grips. Of course, this girl was used to it; Dylan had been perching on her slim shoulder since he was a chick, such it was that Sylph was much stronger than she looked, and the harsh claws bothered her little. What did bother her, however, was what the headmaster would have to say if he saw her like this. Not only was having a dragon obviously illegal, but this particular specimen had be created through usually strictly regulated means; the creation of life through advanced alchemy was not something to be encouraged. Aiden the dragon was composed entirely of copper and gold and stone; it was the fire running in his veins that gave him life. Sylph though was not the creator - but this only seemed to make her concern all the worse, for ratting out oneself was one thing, but ratting out a friend? No, that was not in Sylph's nature at all, prefect or not. Well, as needs must, when the devil vomits into your kettle, she thought matter-of-factly as her heart hammered in her chest like some wild thing. She needed to see Talon, this was urgent, even if the only evidence for it being such an emergency was the copper creature that gripped her shoulder so frantically. Dylan of course did not approve of sharing his girl with another being, and he glared at Aiden with beady orange eyes, clacking his beak in annoyance.
"Alright, Dyl'," Sylph whispered comfortingly to her messenger bird, stroking his plumed neck soothingly. "I need you now - look after Aiden for me while I talk to the headmaster. He might not believe my story, but I'm only showing Aiden if he won't act. Something tells me Roan's in big trouble, and we need to do something, but seeing Aiden too early might send him of on one, y'know?" Bright green eyes glanced around the corridor, looking for a likely spot for the pair to wait. It was late enough for them to be safe from the prying eyes of students, and teachers tended not to frequent this area unless there was a crisis - or they were new, which to Sylph's wryly humoured mind was often the same thing. Eventually she espied a good enough perch, an old empty candle holder high up and not too far from the ruby phoenix. "Up there Dyl', you too Aiden," she added, stroking the upset dragon too. He was frantic with worry for his maker; he thought of Roan as his mother, and it had been he who had led Sylph to the conclusion that she was in trouble, the very reason she had rushed up from the great gates to the headmaster's office. "Just don't move until I come out, 'k? And don't let anybody see you, got it?"
The two animals fluttered off to their chosen perch, Dylan snapping at Aiden's neck to keep him still and receiving a brief blast of flame in return, causing Sylph to hiss angrily at the two of them to shut them up. The last thing she needed was a dismembered dragon and a barbequed messenger bird. Shaking her head, Sylph screwed up her determination, and, straightening her robes a little and kicking her old brown boots into place rapped smartly on the headmaster's door. She only prayed he was in. She had dallied long enough in the entrance hall, though admittedly, playing a game of charades with a dragon had taken some time to get used to. Sylph had gleaned three main things from him in the end. One; Roan was missing. Two; it had happened in a nearby village, probably Drakborough as it was the closest, but that was just a guess. Three; it had involved a dark wizard, and he and Roan had duelled. The feeling in Sylph's guts tightened, but it only increased her resolve. She knocked again, more urgently. Hurry up Talon...bgbg
