Despite having been up late the night before at the dance, Ashelle had gotten up extra early this morning. She wished to see the Headmaster about an urgent matter . . . the urgent matter actually. The want of the Book of fire had faded from her mind and had been replaced with Marc's troubles. Though she knew nothing of what the BFC was up to now (she'd stopped receiving her monthly list and updates), her Hunter senses told her something was very wrong. The worry had grown so strong she could no longer put it aside and concentrate on things like summer homework or even keeping up appearances.
It had taken her a while to find out the password to the Headmaster's tower, and even then it had taken her a while to believe it. She still wasn't sure she did. but now wasn't a time for believe or disbelief. She'd left Marc still sleeping in her dormitory, and now approached the large ruby Phoenix that guarded his office door. Ashelle cleared her throat and fought the urge to look around to see if anyone was looking. After all it might insult the statue.
"Good Morning Mr. Phoenix, how are you today? Do you think it would be alright if I saw Headmaster Windwaltz?" Ashelle's embarrassment faded when she saw the phoenix smile and bow to her. It then got up from it's stone slab and stood aside. "Thank you, so much!" she said with genuine happiness. She ran forward then and knocked on the office door.
"Headmaster?" she called, "I am sorry to disturb you so early but it is very important I talk to you before classes start."
