'Well here we go.' Talon thought as he approached the base of the eighth stairwell, on his way to the top floor. Seven floors up, he stood between four statues majestically placed to greet anyone on their way to the final floor - the Office of the Head of the School. It was the only place there, as Slytherin believed it should be given due respect. The former Headmaster of Firefox took in a deep breath.
He hadn't seen Fiona since he'd left...and all he'd ever done was simply leave, without even giving instructions for her to take over for him. He had appointed her Deputy Headmistress after the event in the Triangle Tunnel against Scorpius, but hadn't really spoken to her much since. The University didn't seem much changed...she seemed to understand Talon would always return, and did not get all that attached to her position. Still, this was the first time Talon would speak to her about the matter.
She deserved at least that, if not more.
The Elementalist glanced at each of the statues in passing - Godric, Rowena, Helga, and at last Slytherin himself. Then he moved up the jade and silver embroidered stairs, and when he arrived at the top stair, he reached a long hallway that led to a threatening looking ruby Phoenix - the guardian of the Office. As Talon passed through the hall, the eyes of several ancient Headmasters noticed him and shifted their brows in confusion. "Welcome back" some said, others said "Would you just make up your mind?" others said "I believe the dear girl's a better leader than he'd ever be!"
However, Agiel Firefox's picture was not just silent, but empty. Talon stared at the emptiness of it, shook his head, and continued on. The two final Headmistresses had absolutely nothing to say to him. Talon had no picture of his own. The former Headmaster gave a chuckle - this was proof, in of itself, that Fiona didn't at all get used to her position.
The Phoenix's beady red eye watched Talon, and immediately turned away to let him pass. The Elementalist walked into the doorway. "...Excuse me." He said towards where the desk would be, "I'd like to speak with the Headmistress."
