It was always this time of year, about a month into school that all teachers become stressed. Not just 'Oh God...not another essay to grade' stressed, but "OH GOD! DAMN THESE KIDS! I HATE MY LIFE!!!!" stressed. As such, the Doctor, (despite going through the same thing), had decided to go around and releive the stress on his colleagues by having a good drink, laugh, and just lightening the mood...so where better to start than at the top?
The Doctor strode up the steps towards the Headmistress' office, and knocked lightly at the door. He was wearing his casual robes, rather than his doctors, teachers, or militaristic robes. In a light, cheerful tone he asked, "Fiona? Are you in there? Its me, Doctor Schmitt...mind if I come in? Heloooo?"
The trouble with school is, They always try to teach the wrong lesson. Believe me, I've been kicked out of enough of them to know.
Since being formally instated as Headmistress, Fiona would easily admit that she didn't have very much to do. While they expected her to continue to hold Care of Magical Creatures Classes, she had fallen slightly behind on that duty. She had also been told that there was a Hufflepuff girl that needed a stern talking-to, but that had been pushed off to the side as well. She was begining to learn that what most people said was true- the higher up you got, the lazier you became. Sad, yet quite true for her.
Upon hearing a knock on the door, Bennett instantly leapt up from the pillow that he'd been resting upon to let out a few loud warning barks. Luckily she'd been able to break him of his habit of throwing his entire body against the door- the people on the other side seemed generally very turned off by that. Getting up out of her chair, she gently grabbed the border collie by the collar and pulled him away from the door. Just for good measure, she clipped his leash on and then tied him lightly to a post. At least she wouldn't have to worry about him harassing any guests.
"One second... one second..." She said, scrambling back towards the door and flinging it open. "Ah... Doctor Schmitt. What a suprise... what brings you up here, into my neck of the woods?" It was a valid question- she hadn't seen them since the odd lunch they'd had together a few months ago. Needless to say, she'd learned that he was a bit of a nutter. Whoever had hired him as the school shrink must have been crazy too, but she didn't have the heart to fire him for just being insane.

The Doctor smiled (big surprise) when the Headmistress opened the door and asked why he was there. The last time they had met was for a rather strange lunch a few months back that had ended awkwardly. But since then, he had established a reputation at the school for being completely out of his mind, but lovable in the weird optimist sort of way. But it was always at those moments when people thought of him as psychotic when he showed them why he was a Doctor.
"Well Ms. Rigaldi, its simply at this time of year when the constant pressure of dealing with all of the students and aftershock of the war and Talon's sudden resignation that most of the staff myself included suffer from constant stress eventually leading to a severe mental breakdown which given the conditions could possibly lead to schizophrenia, split-personality disorder, extreme psychosis, hallucinations or just becoming like me. As such, I took it upon myself as the resident psychologist to meet with the rest of the staff and some of the students and cheer them up a bit...and keep them from going out of their minds. Its alot like exam week where I do the same thing with the students. So then, with that said, mind if I come in? I figured I had better start with the most stressful positions and work my way down...but if you'd rather I not, I'll leave you alone."
He was vaguely aware of a growling collie tugging at a leash trying to lunge for the Doctor. For some odd reason, all animals hated him...he STILL hadn't figured that out. Then again, he also enjoyed predicting others' reactions when he slipped into his professional mode. Mostly it was a jaw-drop, head-tilt moment. Other times, others would just stare blankly.
Schizophrenia? Split personalities? While she had cared for Talon Windwaltz a great deal, she seriously doubted that any of the recent happenings would have an effect on her mental health. However, she knew that now her actions set an example for the rest of the school. And to decline to simply talk with the doctor would possibly show a lack of faith in him, which was certainly something that she didn't want to show. Though he might be a little more than slightly insane at times, she knew that perhaps his line of work had something to do with that. After all, she doubted that she would be able to handle teaching Muggle Studies as well as listening to people's problems all day. To put it simply, it just wasn't her cup of tea.
"No... it's fine, I don't mind at all." She said, retreating back behind her desk and gesturing for him to take the seat positioned opposite. "I don't really think that I've been experiencing anything like that, but I guess that you'll have to be the judge of that." She could honestly say that her life had been going well recently. Besides the shock of being very suddenly promoted, she hadn't really been doing much these days that might cause her to have a complete breakdown.
Then again, there was always her... rather interesting past, a topic that she naturally preferred not to discuss. And while she did feel slightly threatened around anyone with a degree that could "diagnois" her with anyone, she was reassured that he had only come to talk about the present.
"Bennett." She said sternly, throwing the dog a glare. "Behave. Please." He hadn't really liked being coped up very much, and she got the feeling that he missed living out in the forest where he could do whatever he wanted. She chuckled at the idea that maybe the dog had been under more recent stress than her- perhaps she should ask Doctor Schmitt to try some psychotherapy on him.

As the Doctor strode in, he quickly scanned the room, his mind whizzing with both random thoughts such as, "Why arent turnips pink?" or "Whatever happened to Elvis", along with the rational thoughts like, "My, it seems that she has gotten a tad bit lax with this new position," and, "She REALLY needs to get out a bit more for the sake of having some form of social life." The collie still seemed to want to jump at him, but was restrained by the leash. But then came into play his little gift...the ever so slight mind-reading. Useful at times, troublesome at others. His mother had been quite good at it, but that was irrelevant at the moment.
"I suppose the dog could use a good run once in a while. I'd guess that if I were an active animal and was suddenly locked in a rather comfortable cage, I would probably want to go out once in a while. But back to the point..." The Doctor then grabbed a nearby chair and sat down, and stared at the Headmistress for a second, as if probing her mind, before saying, "Well from first impressions you seem fine, but for the sake of your social life, you REALLY need to get out more. Mentally you seem fine, but honestly, you need to go get a drink and socialize a bit...something I am quite good at...oh hush you." He directed the last statement at the dog, who still growled at him ever so slightly.
Shuffling a few papers around, she proceeded to organize everything into neat piles as Dr. Schmitt talked. Her desk was as neat as she could possibly make it- pencils seperated from pens, a few spare quills lying off to the side, and a small day calender in the corner. Thus far, her social life had been fairly... bare. Then again, getting out had always been an event that was few and far between. Her arrival at the begining of the last school year was found somewhat interesting to a few people, but beyond initial introductions she'd never really gotten to know anyone. She had her work, the rest of the professors were busy with classes, and she had no desire to be overly friendly with any of the students.
"I'll probably take him out this afternoon..." She mumbled, half reading a document she'd been asked to review and half keeping an eye on Dr. Schimitt. She usually took Bennett out once every few days, but it was obvious that the animal wanted to get out more. It wasn't much of a problem for her, but there were some days when she just didn't feel like going out.
"Oh really?" She replied, raising an eyebrow. "I guess I'll consider it. What would you recommend doing, exactly?" It wasn't the first time she'd been told that... actually, it was probably the millionth. People always said that she'd never been the same since leaving home, and that was pretty true. She just didn't really know what she could do to change that.

The Doctor kept his smile, "Well Fiona, personally I'd suggest a nice drink at a fair pub in town, subsequently leave the pub after the aforementioned drinks, perhaps attend a concert or performance of some kind, and possibly throw in a very relaxing broom ride over the Spanish Countryside and ending with dinner at a fine restaurant or partaking of elegant wine at the Shining Ri--Lake."
He spoke quickly as if he had either done this before, been planning this, or possibly come up with it at the last second.
