Roan walked through the halls of Firefox, her hands in the pockets of her jeans as she did so, hazel eyes towards the ground. Her brown hair that fell down her back was falling about her shoulders, and there was a bit of worry in that gaze and the way she held herself. Soft shoes didn’t make noise as she made her way through the hall, and she was silent herself. Around her neck, as always these days, was the ring of Salazar Slytherin, given to her by the ‘angel’ that had saved her from her suicide right before the War had started. The girl was troubled, that much was to be seen. There were a big number of things that could cause that mood, after what she had gone through during and since the War. She was doing better, that much could be seen in her daily activities and the fact that her stubborn and fiery streak had died a bit since then as well. She was a bit more…normal. But even a normal person had troubles
One of them was lying in a bed in the Hospital Wing, a thorn in her side and in her heart since the War itself. Muryllis was still out cold after all that had happened, and they still didn’t know why he had done the things he did, what was going on to make the Head Boy turn on them. It hurt her, because she cared about him, had put herself in danger to both protect herself and stop him from doing harm. But no matter what, he had just kept going,. Now they were waiting for him to wake up and give them answers, and Roan was absolutely dreading that he had indeed completely turned to the Society, and that because of it the Ravenclaw she knew was lost forever to that darkness. It would break the girl’s heart if that happened, and everyday she whispered a prayer when sitting by him in the Hospital Wing that it didn’t, though she didn’t know who she prayed to.
Another problem could be very easily seen when she brought her head up for a moment and brushed her hair behind her shoulders. There was a bandage on her neck, more like athletic tape over gauze, but still something there. The bite from Romulus had stopped bleeding, but she was still keeping it covered both for the sake of not letting anything aggravate it and not wanting people to see the scars, not yet. She wasn’t ok with what happened at the Lake, and didn’t want other people to know until then. There were also lesser cuts on her neck from the Nosfertatu’s claws. But it wasn’t the injuries themselves that bothered her, though she had to say that the scars from the bite really shook her when she saw them. It was the fact that even after the War when she wanted to settle down a bit, trouble still managed to find her, fighting still followed down her path. Something she felt like would never end.
There were many more, like berries on a bush you could pluck them out one by one. Right now she didn’t know what to do about anything, the Prefect felt genuinely lost in all of this. She just followed her feet until she saw where her feet had taken her. A giant ruby Phoenix was in front of her, and Roan couldn’t help but let a small smile creep onto her face. The Office of Talon Windwaltz. She didn’t know where to begin on this one, because she had been there with him at the end of the war. But he was a mentor to her in a way, or at least that was how she saw it after the fire incident, and she looked up to him as the Headmaster. Maybe he could listen to her and help her right now. She took a deep breath and took her hands out of her pockets, letting the phoenix admit her and walking into the office. When she spoke, it was with a light voice, though it was raspy from the damage to her throat.
“Headmaster Windwaltz? It’s Roan, are you in sir?”
