OOC: I'd prefer if Sylph or Talon had the first post at least, though as per the rules I'm not going to close the thread. Just let at least one of them go first...if they go at all
Hopefullv Talon Windwaltz was not a jumpy person these days as he had been many a time when Roan had seen him. If so then he was in for quite the surprise the morning she decided to drop into the school for a visit. She had been away for quite some time, whether anyone had really noticed or not was up for debate. It wasn’t as if the ex-Hufflepuff had taken the time to say goodbye to anyone since everyone she knew seemed to be leaving anyways. They were all older now and didn’t have the roots of their magical education to tie them to the school. As far as Roan knew the only people she knew left in Firefox University were Talon Windwaltz and Sylph O’Dell. And those weren’t enough to keep her cooped up as a wraith in the stone halls. Not even her lycan Grandfather was enough to tie her to the grounds or even the surrounding towns. Even though she had broken free though it was hard to resist the pull back to her home to visit those she still knew.
The lycan herself was walking through the halls with a smile on her face and her hands in the pockets of muggle clothing. Long ago had wizarding robes been given up as her illusion she still belonged to the wizarding world. The smile on her face was not for any particular person that she saw passing her in the halls as they made their way to breakfast. In fact, there was not a familiar face before her eyes. Roan was almost amused by the sight of the short 1st and 2nd years, something she never really paid attention to. Maybe the constant threat of war and attack and battle was not enough to keep the flow of new students coming into Firefox. Or maybe they just didn’t know. At least for now, ignorance was bliss.
No, she was smiling because she knew that any moment now Talon would be getting a surprise. Her companions of over two years, Song and Aiden, were going to be the first to arrive at the Headmaster. Both were highly illegal living metal dragons who Roan had been rather meticulous about keeping away from the eyes of others. But Talon had spent time around them and even kept the company of her eldest, Aiden, so she was not worried. As a precaution they flew under the cover of Song’s shadow powers right up to the window of Talon Windwaltz’s office. They were under specific orders to not lift that cover unless Talon was alone in the office. The only other person that was allowed to be in there if they were to reveal themselves was Sylph. Then, if the Headmaster was there and alone they were to reveal themselves and knock on the window somehow. Hopefully not breaking the glass.
She thought it was a fitting surprise for her old friend and teacher. The girl rounded a corner of the familiar corridors and found that the great ruby Phoenix that marked the entrance to the Headmaster’s office was in her sights. It was quite the climb to his office but there was very little that was tiring for Roan these days. She walked up to the Phoenix and regarded it with a sense of fondness and remembrance before greeting the bird pleasantly. “Good Morning Sir, Headmaster in?” The Phoenix simply nodded at her, must have been tired from the morning, before swinging open to reveal the Headmaster’s office.
Roan wasn’t one to just barge in, so she simple walked inside and wrapped her knuckles lightly on one of the filing cabinets to let the Headmaster know she was here, if he already didn’t know from her dragons. “Professor? Knock knock.” She said lightly and waiting for a response. If he was busy she wasn’t going to bother him, but she’d have to get the dragons back at least. Which may be hard, Aiden was quite excited to get to see Talon. Roan wasn't the only one homesick for those she knew.
