After having spent the Christmas with his parents and relatively new born baby brother, Yamaroshi had returned to that horrible part of Spain where Firefox University was. Though he had enjoyed his time at home so much, and never wanted to leave, he was obligated to protect Firefox, as he had joined the Angelus Morti.
After wandering around the school trying to find the highest room of the tallest tower, which he figured would be the best place to find the headmaster to reside, the boy figured the students might be of more help. Now, he was making his way towards Talon's office while indulging in his new habit of feeling his chin, which he had finally rid of the scruffy facial hair which had accumulated over the last year and a half.
Yamaroshi stopped when he reached the phoenix. Unfortunately, none of the students he had asked for directions had mentioned a phoenix guarding Talon's office. Yamaroshi stared at it blankly for a few seconds then muttered, "Hello, what am I supposed to..." He didn't even finish his sentence before the phoenix moved out of the way in response to the boy's greeting. He raised one eyebrow before approaching the door and knocking on it. Unfortunately, Yamaroshi did not realize that there was a very slim chance that the headmaster would actually be in his office.

Luckily for the young Earth Elementalist, Talon was in fact in his office today. His books, however, which had been so delicately piled upon his desk in the past weeks, were now scattered across the floor as if someone had angrily thrown them aside. The Headmaster was not sitting in his chair. Nor was he high in the rafters, searching for an ancient text of the arcane.
He was instead pacing the length of his room, a look of worry crossing his young features. Despite his age, lines of stress were etched into his flesh. An antique oil lamp was the only thing still placed with the greatest honor upon his desk. Besides that, his room was a mess.
"Yes?" Talon said with a frantic tone, turning quickly to face the door, "Whoisit!?" This was said with such a fast paced, quick breath, that it could've been simply one word.

The frantic tone of the headmaster of Firefox was rather discouraging. Perhaps he had come at a bad time, though he had already knocked on the door. It took the boy a few seconds, but Yamaroshi was able to interpret the 'whoisit' as 'who is it'.
He opened the door of Talon's office stepped half way in, immediately noticing the texts scattered across the floor. Paying them no mind, he looked at the headmaster and said, "It's me."
Yamaroshi had not considered, however, that 'it's me' might not fully answer the Talon's question. Since he had last seen the headmaster, his appearance had changed drastically. He was no longer wearing the trench coat he had been wearing for the last year and a half. Instead he sported new, blue jeans and a plain, orange t-shirt, which were both clean. Secondly, one would not have to look past the screen of dirt which covered him to see the slight paleness of his skin. Most noticeably, his hair, which had grown to a ridiculous length had been cut shorter than he could ever remember seeing it; it was hardly more than an inch long. Most importantly, however, he shaved, and his chin was, it might be said, sublimely smooth.
With the only distinctive features remaining being his differently coloured eyes, his above average height, and perhaps the sound of his voice, the headmaster would have a fair bit of difficulty identifying the boy.

At the sound of Yamaroshi's voice, the Headmaster did not make any sudden movements. Though Talon appeared dressed for work wearing his uniform for the International Confederacy of Wizards, a long purple robe, otherwise he appeared to be a total mess. One would ponder whether or not he had even bothered sleeping the night before. He stared away from the Earth Elementalist, in no general direction - simply off into space.
Finally, however, Talon turned to face his visitor, his sapphire eyes lined with dark bags. "Do I...oh, yes, of course." The Headmaster had always been blessed with a good memory - you needed one when you were a historian. Talon had known Yamaroshi since he was a student, before he had slowly become more earthy and reflective of his element. This new look for the young man was not too far from his original appearance. However Talon's lack of focus was enough to make him forget for a moment.
"Yamaroshi, youlookwell." He said the young man's name with eloquence, but the rest of his words were quick and said with the same breath. When the Earth Elementalist mentioned the books, however, Talon couldn't help but shut his eyes and sigh out all of the breath within his lungs.
"Yes," he replied, "I've been wondering about them too."

It was not until after Talon said "youlookwell" that Yamaroshi realized that, perhaps he might have had difficulty recognizing the boy. Fortunately, however, it was no trouble for the headmaster. (Though it once again took the boy a few seconds to decipher the headmaster's compound word).
He had high hopes about his elementalism until the headmaster replied. He was wondering as well? It seemed as if there would not be much the headmaster could tell him.
Still, Talon must still have known more about the books than he did, so his venture up here would not be completely worthless. "You are?" asked the boy, for no purpose other than to carry on with the conversation.

"Yes," Talon replied, kicking a book across the floor. 'Elektra Elennia: My Magical Memoirs' seemed to be an old book that was falling apart, and Talon's treatment of the tome did not seem to be helping much. "I know much about these books, Yamaroshi, but all I know is in the past and it appears that our troubles lie in the present and also in the future."
The Headmaster ran a hand through his newly washed straw-colored hair, a look of dejection upon his lined face. "Dark forces are at work, trying to collect these twelve keys to the very fabric of the existence we live in. Some of which are as mortal as you and I, and some will never die. I fear it was a wrong decision on my part to keep the three books that I did instead of simply hiding them away...had I done so, perhaps I would not be so worried about them, and perhaps their power would've been ignored for another millenia or so."

After two simple words, Yamaroshi had already learned that there were twelve books, and apparently people were looking for them. The one's that never die must have been the nephilim Talon mentioned in the library a few months ago. Considering his reaction to this, the nephilim were not good.
Yamaroshi paused briefly, then continued with the conversation. "So there are twelve books?" he asked.
