Celeste tried to calm down, she tried so hard. No matter what she did her hands felt like ice and her stomach like a washing machine. Just in front of her was a large ruby bird. It had taken Celeste the better part of an hour to even find the headmaster's office. And the better part of the week to find the school itself. A kind student had told her how to enter, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. It was like her boots and the floor had become one. With her blue eyes dead on the bird she began to slow her breathing. When she met the headmaster she didn't want to sound like some hard-breathing freak.
Celeste De Villier had graduated at the top of her class from one of the best Witch Boarding Schools. It was very prestigious and had a difficult curriculum. She had heard that Firefox was a lovely Spanish university and there had been a recent opening in divination. Celeste didn't know the details but she did know that the previous professor had resigned. Her Spanish was spotty but she felt she would be an excellent teacher. Hopefully, Headmaster Talon would agree.
Her had shook all the way to her suitcase and gripped the handle. She took a deep breath and smiled at the jeweled beast. "Hello," she said meekly. Celeste was being a coward and she knew it, she hadn't stepped forward when the bird allowed her in. All she did was stare at the inside of the book-crammed office. She ran her fingers through her hair and glared at her feet. "Move," she said quietly. Slowly but surely she made her was into the office.
Celeste was more nervous that she had ever been in her life. She was only eighteen! Who was going to hire her!? What if she made a bad teacher? What if nobody liked her? Her chance of success was so low. Headmaster Talon would simply laugh her out of his office. Celeste walked too fast toward his desk. She snapped her fingers and in her hand was a stack of recommendation letter from every professor, headmaster, deputy, prefect and even one from a renowned English divination proficient. Included in the pile was all of her grades, and major accomplishments. Celeste had barely time to part her lips before a stream of nearly inaudible jabber burst out.
"Hello Headmaster Windwaltz my name is Celeste De Villier and I am from the Jean-Raul Witches University in France I am here to have an interview with your for the Divinations Professor position and ya know I would really like do this I am confidant in my skills and I am really a good people person I've taught younger students... well, aided younger students and helped them excel...", she stopped and took a breath. Celeste looked forward in terror. In her panicked state she had walked right past the Headmaster's desk was was talking to a bookshelf.
She was embarrassed beyond her own understanding of the word and with a beet-red face she turned to the Headmaster Windwaltz's desk with a wry smile. She silently placed her papers on a large book. With a timid breathy chuckle all she could do was grin. She was far too embarrassed to say anything. Her stomach began to knot, her hands might had frostbite buy now so she moved them to loosen her scarf. She coughed into a fist, and without making eye contact she simply said, "Hello.", very directly.
