An owl flew into the headmaster's office and deposited a letter on the desk for the headmaster to read whenever he got free time. It was written very neatly and was bordered by intricate golden leaves and vines.
It was sealed with an Emblem representing the Levaltrie University for Wizards.
It read in neat, gold, eloquently shaped letters:
My Dearest Headmaster, I was speaking with a former professor of mine at Levaltrie University in France and he informed me that you had some openings for teachers in your school. I have been out of school for three years and I have had training in various shops around France. I have a WA in Herbal medicine. I was, myself, a major in Herbology and a minor in Potions, and was hoping you would be willing to hire me as your herbology teacher. Not only could I teach students but if your Nurse is feeling a bit overwhelmed I am able to concoct many healing remedies. I am available for interview whenever you have time to schedule me. I have attached my resume to this letter and look forward to meeting you. Thank you for your time, Leseur Follet
The resume read like this:
Levaltrie University for Wizards 2079-2086
Lavandeur's Boutique for Unique Floral Arrangements 2086-2088
Fragours French Flowers and Herbal Remedies 2087- Present

Talon read over the letter and decided to give this 'Leseur Follet' a shot at becoming the next French Herbology teacher. The last French Herbology teacher Firefox had ended up dead on the grounds of the school during the Shadow War, the story of his death left to the imagination. He was definitely qualified for the position, a graduate of an esteemed academy across the Pyrenees and with plenty of experience. He sent out an owl to the man at once for an interview.

The next day, the Headmaster sat in his chair, reading the latest Angelina Shrew story ("Crying Phoenix Tears") with the tip of a quill caught between his teeth. The time ticked onward until Leseur would arrive, and he hoped to finish the chapter before it was over.
"I love you, Rosie, I hope you know that," Alex shouted, holding out his hand to the Phoenix-handler that had stolen his heart. The woman was clearly holding back her feelings for him, though the blood rushed to her face as she responded, "I can't love you, Alex. Not after what you did...not after her!" And the woman rushed from the room.
"No, no!" Talon muttered, the quill falling out of his mouth. "He's sorry! Go back and love him! Damnit," he bookmarked the page with a stream of light from his wand and then put it away. He was now in a rather grumpy mood.

Leseur Follet walked down the hallway with the grace you would expect of a French man. He stopped in front of the looming statue. Leseur would admit, he was nervous now. This was partly because of the interview and also partly because he was not a wizard anymore.
"I beleeve thee edmastear eez expecteeng me?" He looked over at the statue. It looked like it took a second to register in it's stone brain and swung open.
Leseur took a breath to calm himself and entered the Headmasters office. It was decorated with all sorts of trinkets, gizmos, artifacts. The mans eyes fell upon his assumed interviewer. He gave the blonde- haired, sapphire eyed man a once over. Yes this is who he had heard about from HIS headmaster.
Leseur smiled before speaking. "Allo edmastear Weendwaltz I am Leseur Follet. I ave eard so much about you from my professeurs at Levaltrie. Eet Eez an onair" Leseur extended his hand and gave a confident look into the eyes of the man who would decide his fate today.

"No, no, believe me, the honor's all mine," Talon said before putting his wand down and taking the Frenchman's hand and giving it a shake. The Headmaster then picked up his wand and summoned a chair before his desk for the interviewee to sit in. He spoke so highly of him, but what good news did the professors at Levaltrie have to say of him? Especially considering the fate of Professor Lafayette...
"Sit down, please," the Headmaster said, motioning to the chair. "I'm interested to hear the Professors at Levaltrie have so much to say about me. Good or bad...I dare not ask." He said the last part jokingly. "So tell me, why Herbology? What made you decide to take up that specific magic art?"

Leseur took a seat and proceeded to laugh at the jest the headmaster had made. "Well they say een Levaltrie zat your students have a ceartain knack for getting into trouble, no?" He chuckled "but seriously Monsieur Weendwaltz they speek of your braveree een thee war ov shadows. Your deeds, and i am not exagerateeng are well known in France. All my professeurs say that you run thee best educational facilitee for weezards simplee because of all thee dangeur that surrounds your uneeversitee. I mean, what bettear way to give students experiance than to let them leeve through it, no? They say you must be veree skeeled to keep all your students alive" Leseur gave another quick look around the room. This office was so intriguing, all the different objects in here had some magical purpose. "My eenterest een eerbologee comes from my parants. They always used mageecal erbs to eal my playground wounds" Leseur took a second to relive his moments in his youth when he would run crying to mama and papa to heal his scraped knees. "I also learned to enjoy elping people whenevear necesaree. Wheech eez also why my proffeseurs recommended me ere" He looked into the mans sapphire eyes. This was all true of course. His professors always raved about what went on at Firefox University and how brilliant the headmaster was for keeping his students safe. "They said to mee, 'Anee man that can protect eez students from all that must really ave a caring soul'".

Talon was growing to rather like France. Not only because they seemed to be the only nation in the International Confederacy of Wizards that seemed to have any respect left for him, but because of this young man in front of him. Clearly he had a love of people and of nature as well, and the Headmaster felt that was all that was necessary to join his staff.
After all, becoming a Professor was more of a title than it was actually a requirement to post any decent classes anyway.
The Headmaster smiled, his eyes still in contact with the other man's, and he nodded "And I hope you care enough to help me protect them, too." He extended his hand again, "You will be admitted as a Professor of the school, Herbology Master, with complete access to our Feasting Hall and Staff Rooms. You have a trial period of one class, which I will sit in on. After that, I will decide whether or not you are qualified to remain on the staff. But don't worry, I'm sure you will."

Leseur smiled from ear to ear and shook the Headmaster's hand. "Oh, Thank you, Monsieur! You weel not regret thees I asseur you. I weel start planneeng my classees right away Headmastear" With that Leseur stood up and gave the headmaster a little farewell nod before walking back out into the hall. With a smile and a lot of work ahead of him he headed down the hallway to start planning.
